-Must See TV Schedules: Lots of different combos, but Friends, Will & Grace, Seinfeld,
Frasier, ER all ran in the 90s on Thursdays, among others.
First Fives: HONORABLE MENTION goes to Daniel Block who got the entire lineup of a
year of MUST SEE TV correct, Dana Moscato, Kerri Tocci, Andrew Werts and Lisa
McCusker

-Last night, my plan was to stay awake long enough to watch REAL HOUSEWIVES OF
NYC, but I started watching ABC's pilots and they were sooooo boring that I passed
out cold. I probably should have watched the MAVERICKS beat the HEAT, I don't know
what I was thinking. I have been travelling so give me some leeway here. Bad
judgement, I completely admit it.
-MTV officially cancelled SKINS. Even I was freaked out when I watched the pilot
episode last year, so I am happy about the decision. Plus it really didn't do as well as
anticipated, so all in all not the worst news in the world. Hey I have an idea...why not
use that time to do something crazy...VIDEOS...what a novel idea...back to the basics.
-With all this talk of cord cutting and people watching content on their cell phones and
tablets, it is interesting to report that in 1Q 2011, total TV service subscribers
rebounded and added 475,000 new subscribers. The thing is they are really moving
around and not cutting the cord. In 1Q, TV service subscribers hopped over from cable
companies to either satellite or telco providers. So instead of calling them cord cutters,
how about cord hoppers or cord switchers?
-American teens watch less TV and talk on the phone less than general audiences but
are by far the heaviest mobile video users and texters, according to a new Nielsen study
of the 12-17 year old demo. (I hope they didn't pay much for that study, I could have
told you that one) Teens watched 23 hours 41 min. of TV/week during Q4 2010, 9
hours less than then general audiences, but teen mobile subscribers watched 7 hours 13
min. of mobile video a month in Q4 - compared to 4 hours 20 minutes for the general
population. In Q1 2011, teens 13-17 sent an average of 3,364 mobile texts/month -
more than double the rate of the next most active texting demo, 18-24 year olds
(1,640 texts per month). Some 78% of 12-17 year olds visited social networks or
blogs. None of this surprising, again...other than the numbers (which, if I made those
up who would care?) I could have told you all this just from guessing or
experience...thanks AGAIN Nielsen
-Tonight on Spike, another awards show, that I will probably watch...GUYS CHOICE
AWARDS...I have never seen this one, so since there isn't much on...I will most likely
check it out. Also, it is Friday so what would a Friday WWTM be like without a mention
of the best show on TV (and in my opinion, one of the best shows ever) FRIDAY
NIGHT LIGHTS...it's not too late to start watching it.
-Need to share my excitement, and probably open myself up for some jokes, but I can't
wait until Sunday, because I am going to the NKOTBSB concert! Not as much for the
New Kids, but I am a huge Backstreet Boys fan...laugh all you want...I know...I know,
but I needed to come clean in case I don't watch get to watch THE GLEE PROJECT on
Sunday night.
-Friday's Trivia Question: What was the first video ever on MTV and what year was
that again?
WWTM-but nothing that good lately, we need July to get here soon! Kristy
