-Okay, someone IS listening to me when I speak (or type for that matter). For those of
you that did not get on the FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS bandwagon from the beginning and
for those of you that want to keep it alive in your hearts (and DVRs)...ESPN Classic will
be running the series in its entirety and in order! Starting TONIGHT at 8pm with the
first two episodes. Then a marathon will run on July 14th and 15th but starting on
7/21, every Thursday night from 9-11pm these amazing episodes will air sequentially.
All I have to say is THANK YOU to ESPN and SET YOUR DVR's people...trust me...it's
worth it.
-Last night I checked out the Home Run Derby on ESPN...My man Robinson Cano was
the 2011 Home Run Derby Champion with some pretty impressive shots all over the
stadium. Also some pretty impressive catching from the kids out in the field. Did
anyone see David "Big Poppy" Ortiz's interview? I had NO idea what he was saying,
they really should have included subtitles. Hate to admit I like that guy, he is a Red
Sock, the team I despise, but anyone who walks around with name Big Poppy is ok in
my book.
-Also last night, caught up on my REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NJ...there just isn't enough
time to type as much as I could about this freaking show. The Gorga's are ratings
gold...really. Theresa and Joe Giudice are going to freak out when these two get their
own show. Did anyone watch? The singing situation is hilarious, the outfits...insane
and what's with Lauren Manzo? Crying because she misses her brothers...as the great
comedian Artie Lange would say...Waaaaaaaaaa!!!! Best part of the entire show these
days...Jay Mohr. Sunday night he subbed for Andy Cohen during WATCH WHAT
HAPPENS LIVE and he killed! His blog is pee in your pants funny and now a pod
cast...I have never listened to a pod cast before, but I just might do it now...let you
know if I do or not...so freaking hilarious. For anyone that watched...was Jay wearing
socks? The shoes and socks situation was odd, it would have driven my friend Andrew
Werts crazy.
-Okay, I hate to say this, but so done with CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM...Sunday's season
premiere was so uncomfortable to watch for me, I really used to find the show funny,
but not anymore. Larry just makes me angry and I have no idea why anyone would
want to be married to him or be friends with him or live with him. So I just got 30
minutes back...thanks Lar.
- The PEW people have done more research for us all...her is some PEW SCOOP (Hey
it's hard to come up with this stuff)
1) More than 83% of US adults have a cell phone and 1/3 of Americans now own a
smartphone but ownership is skewed considerably by income and education.
2) Well off, well educated, African American, Latino and younger users all over-index as
smartphone users. For instance, 59% of those in a household earning $75k or more
own a smartphone and 58% of adults aged 25-34 are smartphone users.
3) An amazing 25% of smartphone users now use their handset as the primary way
they connect to the internet.
4) Smartphones operating on Android are the most prevalent (35% of smartphone
users), followed by iPhone (24%)and Blackberry (24%)
5) Android phones are especially common among young adults and African Americans,
while iPhones and Blackberry devices are most prevalent among college grads and the
well-off
6) Nearly half of full-time employees (48%) and 38% of part-time employees own a
smartphone
7) 94% of smartphone owners ages 18-29 use their phones to go online, with eight in
ten (81%) doing so on a typical day
-Good news for me and any of you country music fans...Brad Paisley and Carrie
Underwood are returning as hosts of the CMA's this year on November 9th. Just
thought I would share...
