-So, I am noticing that the TONY AWARDS were huge for the night on Trendrr (over
100,000 comments) but didn't pull a big number at all via our BFF's (NOT) at Nielsen...I
totally get that the TONY's are a niche audience etc.  but huge difference here.  The
TONY's only pulled a 1.2 on the demo BUT there were 6.8 million viewers...so what do
we make of this situation?  Older??? But yet very engaged via social media???
Irony??? Conundrum??? Not sure what we call this but it is something (a curse word
comes to mind, but we don't use those here at WWTM)...so let me know what you all
think.

- As you know, I don't watch any cop/legal/mystery type of shows, but I know a lot of
you really loved AMC's THE KILLING, so you will be happy to know that AMC renewed
the series for a second season.  THE KILLINGS first season launched April 3 with 2.7
million total viewers, and the series currently is generating the second highest premiere
season for an original drama in AMC's history.  The season one finale is set to air June
19 at 10p.

- E!'s sixth season premiere of KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIAN'S Sunday at 10p
averaged 2.5 million total viewers and posted a 1.4 rating with A18-49.  Following at
1030p, the new series ICE LOVES COCO which brought in 1.3 million total viewers and
delivered a 1.8 rating with W18-34.  I am not a Kardashian's person, not sure why just
never really got into it or them...but I did check out ICE LOVES COCO.  Honestly, it
was kinda boring...I really liked their dog Spartacus more than Ice or Coco...This
sounds weird, but they aren't that interesting of a couple.  I didn't really see why they
felt the need to give this couple a show...They live in NJ in an apartment, they work,
they make sandwiches, she does some modeling...so what's the big draw?...maybe it's
her big you know whats but you can see those everywhere these days...

-So, as I predicted after watching the SHANIA TWAIN: WHY NOT? Finale...Shania gets
married to Fred, she gets her voice back and sings Endless Love with Lionel Richie (who
has a very nice house in the Bahamas btw) and will be performing at Ceasars Palace in
2012.  New song is available on Itunes...blah blah blah, but of course I did watch the
entire series and I guess even though I complained about it, I did stay with it...there is
just something about Shania that I love...I am routing for her.

-THE GLEE PROJECT...I hate to admit it, as I really didn't want to like it, but I did.  So
the premise is that GLEE is looking for new talent for the show and out of 40,000
applicants they have narrowed it down to the final 12 who compete each week for the
big prize, a 7 episode stint on the show.  In the premiere, the very very cute Darren
Criss (he plays Blaine on the show) provides feedback to all of the contestants and then
chooses one who gets a solo in the video they are producing.  We get to see the video
and then the judges who are the real casting director, choreographer, and vocal
coaches for the show, choose the bottom 3 who have to perform in front of Ryan
Murphy (creator/writer/producer) to save their spot.  Ryan then votes someone out via
the Callback sheet that is posted on a bulletin board just like High School auditions.  I
liked it, and for some reason, I find Ryan Murphy sorta scary and intimidating.  The
other judges are really good at telling the contestants what they don't like with such a
fake smile that it is oddly amusing.  I will probably keep watching...the applicants are
all very talented and interesting and odd all at the same time...you know just like the
GLEE cast.

-Tonight I still need to catch up on REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NJ, THE VOICE, and the
season finale of BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES...how many more days til BIG BROTHER...I
think 23...ugh...that just seems so far away...

- Yesterday, the first quarter 2011 advertising expenditure results were released by
Kantar Media.  In first quarter 2011, ad spending increased by 4.4% over last year to
total $32.5 billion.  In the various measured media categories, television saw some
significant shifts due to sports programming ad dollars moving from broadcast
networks to cable networks as well as having no Olympics or college bowl games on
the broadcast networks.  This shift played out as cable TV ad expenditures leapt to a
+31.9% while network TV ad spending declined by -10.4%.  All in all, Television Media
came in at +5.3% with Spot TV down a bit at -1.2%; National Syndication up at
+16.5%; and Spanish Language TV also up slightly at +0.8%.  Overall Magazine Media
was up by +4.5%; Newspaper Media down at -2.1%; Internet (display ads only) up
double digits to +14.6%; Radio Media up a tad at +1.3%; Outdoor bumped to a
+12.5%; and FSIs were down at -17.5%.

-Tuesday's Trivia Question: Ice-T stars in LAW & ORDER SVU, but before that he was a
Gangsta (correct spelling even though spell check is saying it isn't) Rapper who
received a lot of heat for a famous controversial song.  So...Part 1 is name the song
and Part 2 is what does the "T" stand for in Ice-T
