-First time in a long time that an MLB game made the Cable Top 5, but of course, my
Yankees were playing our arch nemesis the Boston Red Sox who beat us in 10 innings
3-2 unfortunately. The game averaged 4.7 million viewers to become the most-viewed
MLB telecast on ESPN since June 3, 2007 (which coincidentally was a Red Sox/Yankees
game as well) In Beantown, the game averaged a 17.0 HH rating and here in the big
Apple, an 8.6 HH rating.
-Last night I did catch up a bit and watched the season finale of ICE LOVES COCO and
as I expected they saved the tiniest outfits for the finale. Not one itsy bitsy
microscopic bikini, but two! My question is how do they stay on? How do they cover
the parts they need to be covered, especially when Coco is bouncing around on the
back of a boat...now that has to be TV magic. In an interesting twist we did see Coco
wear more clothes than ever before when she wore hot pink scrubs to help deliver her
sisters baby. Again kudos to Ice-T...he has got to be THE most mellow guy I have ever
seen...nothing fazes this guy ever. Must be nice
-Next was CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM with the vow of silence, the Pinkberry, and the
two parking spaces. I did laugh out loud at this week's episode and obviously I can't
seem to give the show up. I have never tasted Pinkberry...is it yogurt or ice cream?
Do we have it here in NYC? I don't know if that was paid for, but it worked, I definitely
want to try it asap.
-Next up for me was FLIPPING OUT...okay Jeff, first you fired crazy eyebrowed Sarah
and now ultra gelled sorta mute Trace. Thank goodness Zoila and Jenny are safe, but
the person you really need to dump is GAGE...that blank stare is so annoying and
boooooring. I so don't see the chemistry and he just brings the whole show to a stand
still...more Zoila, more Jenny, more Jeff...
-Seems to me everywhere I go lately I am reading/hearing/seeing something about
HILLBILLY HANDFISHIN...have you see this show yet? HILLBILLY HANDFISIN is
exactly what you think...people stand in a lake or river and try to grab a fish with their
hands...I wasn't the only one who checked it, Sunday's premiere of Hillbilly Handfishin'
on Animal Planet pulled in 737,000 among A18-49; 697,000 with A25-54; as well as
1.2 million total viewers. Maybe it's the funny title, who knows, we shall see if more
people join in and check out this nutty show...I did and I just might again.
- On Monday, VH1 delivered a 1.6 rating for the season three finale of BASKETBALL
WIVES, making it the highest-rated VH1 telecast since May 2009. The concluding
episode additionally posted 2.6 million total viewers at 8p and a combined 4.6 million
total viewers when factoring in the 10p encore episode. Furthermore on Monday at 9p,
VH1 delivered a 1.4 A18-49 rating for the season finale of SINGLE LADIES and 2.2
million total viewers. Taking the 11p encore episode into consideration, SINGLE
LADIES posted 3.3 million total viewers for the night.
- When the ninth edition of TOP CHEF premieres on Bravo this fall, they will be in
Texas and there will be some new judges that include BAM Emeril Lagasse! Of course
Padma and Tom will be back as well as Gail Simmons. I don't watch TOP CHEF, but I
know many of you do and recommend it to me. I have to come clean...not a big Emeril
fan...so if I was going to even try to get into it, now I probably won't just because of
that...the whole BAM thing bugs me...
- U.S. mobile users are spending 54% more time on the mobile Web, and 29% more
time watching videos on mobile devices than a year ago, according to a new study from
Yahoo. Interestingly, one-third of all time spent on mobile devices is at home. I am
trying to get more info on this one...if I do I will be sure to post it.
-One last thing before trivia...you know how I enjoy the celebrity crazy names right?
Not really sure that either one of these two are true celebrities but hey you really can
call anyone a celebrity these days so...Lauren Bush, niece of George W. is marrying
Ralph Lauren's son David Lauren and she has officially said that she will go by the name
Lauren Bush Lauren...but I met her, she would be Lauren Lauren...I find that funny oh
and here's a little tid bit...my middle name is Lauren too! Okay...I digress...TRIVIA!
- Wednesday's Trivia Question: It seems that CBS is moving forward with a remake of
one of those classic 70's shows...BEWITCHED, you know the one...Samantha, 2 Darrens
(did they think we wouldn't notice), Dr. Bombay and Endora...What was Samantha and
Darren's daughters name?
WWTM-Kristy
