The American Music Awards are a family favorite so we all watched last night's show together.
*No Envelopes at all during this award show, all winners were announced via the Samsung Galaxy Note II.  (This was not paid for at all...just seemed to be worth mentioning)
*If Usher's going to "perform" why bother with the entire big headset microphone contraption when we can see he's lip syncing.
*Pop Rock Male-Bieber won. His date for the evening, his Mom.  Smart move. Wacky looking outfit though.  Crazy genie pants where he had to hold on to his privates in order to walk to the stage plus some crazy looking red loafers and odd baseball hat.
*Eric Stonestreet presented Country Female Artist to Taylor Swift who is SO tall and SO skinny and will never ever ever ever get back together with some guy again.
*How come every time I've heard Carly Rae Jepsen sing "Call Me Maybe" live it sounds like crap?
*The 3rd Scooter Braun artist of the night, "The Wanted" was next up to perform. They're not that good, that cute or that talented.  One Direction could take them in a Boy Band Battle, but of course The Backstreet Boys would beat them both hands down.
*Randy Jackson introduced Kelly Clarkson who has been around 10 years already.  Yep that's right.  She looked good and had on some crazy shoes. Can you believe she is releasing a greatest hits album already?  It's nuts to me.
*Stacy Kiebler's dress was pretty and she's super skinny, but George can do better.
*Nicki Minaj won for Best Rap Album. I really don't dig Nicki Minaj at all.
*Ke$ha sang, I mean lip sanc, her new song that I love..."Die Young"
*Gwen Stefani looks like she had a little work done. (Not that there's anything wrong with it).  Zuma and Kingston still have THE coolest Mom around.
*Kerry Washington and Apolo Anton Ono presented Alternative Rock to Linkin Park.
*Why does Usher need such huge sunglasses INDOORS? Are they special award show laserglasses to protect his eyes from harmful laser lights?
*Taylor Swift performed her new song "Trouble".  If she listened to herself in this song before she went out with the guy from "Never Ever" she probably would have saved herself  a lot of heartache, but then again, she would have been short 2 songs.
*Male R&B/Soul went to Usher and his huge specs.  I was just happy that Chris Brown didn't win. Sorry, just can't get past it.  Once you hit a girl, I'm done with you.
* Favorite Country Male Artist went to Luke Bryan.  It was nice to see someone so genuinely thrilled and grateful to win an award.
*P!nk rules and seems to prefer performing without shoes on.
*Best Boy Band EVER...my boys...BACKSTREET BOYS! presented Best New Artist to Carly Rae Jepsen who looks very much like Chrissy Hynde from The Pretenders to me.
*Country Music Duo/Group went to Lady Antebellum.  They always win, I wanted Zac Brown to get it.  Oh well.
*Bieber shouldn't do the tank top thing but he was one of the only performers to NOT lip sync and while the peepee grabbing is ultra distracting, you have to give the guy credit, he can definitely dance.
*David Guetta won the first ever Electronic Dance Music award. Don't care.
*I really don't even know what to say about Xtina Aguilera's performance. Again nervous that a wardrobe malfunction could have occurred, but since she barely moved on stage chances were low.  As for the rest of it, I go by the "if you don't have anything nice to say rule...so...
*Pitbull was awesome and I'm not a huge Pitbull fan.
*UGH, I can't stand Jenny McCarthy, but she presented Best Pop/Rock Album to Bieber the crotch grabber
*Carrie Underwood didn't lip sync
*Chris Brown felt the need to take his shirt off I felt the need to not pay attention and check my emails.
*Fitty Cent looked spiffy when he presented the Rap/Hip Hop award to Nicki Minaj who seemed to have all sorts of issues with her dress.  I had no idea what she was talking about. I googled the "Barbz" they are her version of Gaga's Little Monsters...aka...her fans.
*Carrie Underwood won best Country Album.
*Ryan Seacrest did the Dick Clark tribute, perfect choice. Stevie Wonder performed and Kari Clark seemed to look just like Dick to me now.
*Artist of the Year went to Crotchy who had some trouble speaking but he figured it out and apparently partied with on again/off again girl Selena Gomez.
*To end the evening...GANGNAM STYLE and PSY...with special guest star...MC HAMMER who still had the moves!

On Ice Loves Coco, Ice still cannot say no to Coco even when she volunteered him to do stand up comedy for a bulldog fundraiser.  Of course it all worked out and the audience at Carolines laughed, but for the viewers of the TV show, we had no idea how funny or gross Ice actually was since most of his set had to be bleeped. If Coco wasn't busy enough now she's also a celebrity photographer taking pictures of Maximus and Spartacus, her bulldogs for a bulldog calendar. I gotta admit, she had them dressed up in pretty hilarious outfits .

If anyone from Animal Planet is reading this, I have a complaint...you can't just wedge a new episode of Tanked in with a bunch of old ones and not tell anyone about it.  I'm a savvy DVR person who has a season pass for the show, but for those out there who don't know the bliss of the Season Pass and who want to see Wayde and Brett and the gang build another amazing fish tank, they just missed a new episode and didn't even know it.  This newest episode was really good for two reasons.  One...if it was real, and not a set up, the prank that Wayde and Brett pulled on Redneck was hilarious.  Redneck lives/sleeps in a trailer in the ATM parking lot and in the middle of the night, the guys hooked up the trailer to their truck and pulled it out into the desert.  Redneck literally woke up in the middle of nowhere.  He'd have to be a REALLY heavy sleeper to pull it off, but it seemed real.  Hoping it was.  The other great part of this installment, was finally seeing Agnes and Heather getting more involved in the process instead of just staying in the office and holding down the fort.  If more new episodes are on their way Animal Planet, I think you need to let people know!

I still really liked The Wedding Band, but again it continues to baffle me. I'm still not sure at all how to categorize is.  Again, there are some funny moments, but it's definitely not a comedy. I think that its supposed to be though, so that makes me a bit nervous. This week, another baffling thing...it's the second week of the show and the band plays a high school house party and not a wedding. It was a good party nonetheless, but I think I would have waited to air it later in the series.  I'm guessing that since they had an episode with Brian Austin Green's super hot wife Megan Fox, in a leather bra it would be a good way to bring viewers to the show. The band played a great version of "I Love College" that once again I can't post because while the songs are available on ITunes, the videos aren't available anywhere yet.

Lots of press on NJ Governor Chris Christie's appearance on Saturday Night Live.  It was good, not THAT amazing, but decent.  I thought Maroon 5 was really really good and nobody seems to be talking about that at all.  Jeremy Renner was the guest this week.  He was okay.  It was weird because he said he was doing the show so that people would realize he could do comedy, but when he sang in the opening monologue that was actually the big surprise.  He was pretty good! In case you missed the Governor, here's the link: http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/weekend-update-chris-christie/1424400/

NEWS & INFORMATION

*Partners on CBS has been cancelled.  I hated that show from day one.  Never believed that Sophia Bush would be with David Krumholtz...no way.
*666 Park Avenue & The Last Resort has also been cancelled.  Bummed for Dave Annable, I was hoping he'd have a hit.  The Last Resort was a decent show that got lost.  The networks can't afford to be patient anymore which sucks.
*Showtime renewed Web Therapy for a 3rd season. That's one of those shows I keep meaning to watch and then forget to set my DVR for. Good to know there's still time.
*Discovery cancelled American Chopper.  I'm pretty sure that Paul Sr.  and Paul Jr. don't even speak anymore, which is probably why the show got cancelled.  A shame because the feud would probably result in ratings.
*Rumor has it that Rupert Murdoch and FOX will be purchasing a big chunk of the YES Network by the end of this week.  Nothing final, but it looks like this is happening.

Monday's Trivia Question: Last night, November 18th marked the 20th anniversary of Seinfeld's legen...wait for it...dary "The Contest" episode.  Anyone remember who went out first?  Anyone remember who went out last?
