We had a bit of a homework crisis last night in our house, so I promised my son I wouldn't watch Survivor without him. So I am in a media blackout on the show for the day, please don't tell me anything.

Since I work on the X Factor, and last night was the first live voting show, I had to watch the show live and not on DVR which is not how I usually watch.  All the judges looked great. Nothing really changes about Simon except the color of his T-Shirt, but L.A. got a new pair of glasses that were a lot better than his old ones.  Demi's severe eye brows and red lips worked for me, and Britney looked good regardless of the fact that she still can't speak the English language. As for our hosts, Mario looks amazing no matter what he wears and KKO needs a better set of Spanx that help to keep her belly button from showing in her too tight leather outfits. Okay so remember last season when Simon "made a mistake" and sent Melanie Amaro home and then she came back to win the whole thing?  Well apparently he's going for the same strategy again this season.  The judges made another mistake in sending Diamond White home and brought her back last night. Songs from movies was this week's theme, but I have to admit, I barely knew which movies a lot of the songs were from.  Are theme weeks really necessary?

Arin Ray: Song- "American Boy" (What movie is that from?)  The backup dancers wore crazy jumpsuits, Arin's dancing was strong and overall he did a great job.
Paige Thomas: Song-"Take My Breath Away" (Top Gun was the movie, easy one) Paige was hanging from the ceiling and we got to see her undergarments which was at least something fun about the performance. It was hard to tell how good she was with all of the backing tracks, so I have no opinion.
Vino Alan (The Tattoo Guy): Song-When a Man Loves a Woman (movie???) Amazing performance.  Simon called Demi stupid, but everyone agreed that Vino nailed it.
Emblem 3: "My Girl/California Girls" (What movie???)-I was totally confused with the song, but the boys were awesome anyway.  The guys are too cute and have the X Factor, that certain something, whatever it is...they have it.
Beatrice Miller: Song-"Iris" (City of Angels) Beatrice has 2 Unemployed Moms, just thought you'd I'd share. I Didn't love the song, and didn't think she was that good, but all of the judges seemed to think she kicked butt, really???
Janelle Garcia: Song-"I Love Rock N Roll" (Movie???)  Jennel looked a lot like a young Joan Jett.  Her performance was SO over produced it was hard to tell if she could sing.  Simon agreed with me and Demi told him to F off. (not really, it is broadcast television)
Tate Stevens: Song-"Wanted Dead or Alive" (Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man c'mon who would know that?) He's no Jon Bon Jovi, but he did a great version of the song.
Lyric 145: Song-"Supercalifragilistic" ahhh you know the one from Mary Poppins, at least that was another easy one.  Eye patch girl and crazy eyes just aren't my thing.  The song was again, so over produced, everyone loved it.  Everyone but me.
Diamond White: Song-"If I Don't Have You" (The Bodyguard)  Terrible song choice, I thought she bought herself a ticket back home...again, but the judges and I are NOT on the same page, they loved her. I think they want America to do their dirty work.
Cece Frey: "Eye of the Tiger" (Rocky) So over produced and a lot of extra leopard spots. I thought she was horrible, the worst of the night. It's gotta be hard to sing with no top lip.
Carly Rose Sonenclar-Song "Everyday It will Rain" (Twilight).  I didn't like the arrangement of the song, but I thought Carly was amazing and loved how they made it rain in the studio.
Jason Broccoli: Song- "I Believe I Can Fly" (Spacejam)...omg I actually agreed with Britney Spears on something, Jason is a Las Vegas lounge act.  That's what he is.  Done.
Lilas, aka 1432, got another new name that Ameica picked: Fifth Harmony. Song- "A Thousand Years"  (Twilight).  They were really good.  Surprisingly good. Shockingly...good

A perfect episode of Modern Family, best of the season. I was wondering how they would get  Hailey back home and off Skype.  She got arrested so Mitch, Claire and Phil had to head up to college to bail her out, pack her up and take her home.  Cam had to watch Alex and Luke which was a bit of a stretch because both kids could have been left alone for a few hours, but I went with it.  Cam made a vegan breakfast for the kids including some fake bacon called "Fakon" which Mitch declared "Fakon disgusting." Luke loved it, but was allergic to it and had to be rushed to the hospital. While all of that was going on, Jay's ex-wife (Mitch and Claire's Mom), Shelly Long stopped by.  No offense Shelly, but menopause has not been kind, I barely recognized her.  If it wasn't for her voice, I really wouldn't have known who she was.  Best line of the night, Gloria wanted Jay to enjoy shopping for a stroller.  Jay's come back..."If you had a husband that liked picking out strollers you wouldn't be having a baby.

Last week on the Suburgatory very special Halloween episode, George finally asked Dallas out on a date, which I guess in Chatswin means sex, because that's pretty much what they did on their date...I think. Dallas acted so weird by hanging from the ceiling, bringing in a church choir and cheering George on with a foam finger that I would have dumped her day one.  I love Cheryl Hines and Jeremy Sisto but both of them seem to have over done the botox a bit and now whenever I watch them, I just stare at their foreheads to see if any of it moves.  There was an entire second story about Dhalia and I think she's actually converting to Judaism, but honestly it was all about the foreheads for me.

I loved Bravo's new show lolwork. This one is a winner.  It is a reality show filmed documentary style like The Office. The difference is, these wacko's are REAL.  They all work at a real place called I Can Has Cheezburger. The company runs a website that I had never heard of before called http://icanhas.cheezburger.com/ It features funny images of cats and other non humans. I hate cats, but it doesn't matter.  The cast is awesome, the conversations are hilarious and I am now obsessed with Ben, the CEO's treadmill desk.  (I heard that Jimmy Kimmel lost all of his weight working at this same desk. I need one!) There are so many great characters that I haven't determined who my favorite is yet. I can't even believe there is a company that makes money doing what these people do. In the first episode, Ben pairs everyone up for a contest to create a video.  I tried to find the winner on Bravo's website to post here, but had trouble. If Bill McLaughlin is reading this...any help?

Wow, tough call for The Voice's best outfit award.  Hard to decide between Drooptina's maternity body suit and sparkly barrette or CeeLo's patriotic poncho/beannie combo.  I guess he was happy with the election results.  I'm giving the award to Droopy.I wonder if she gets annoyed that a very small bald man with baby arms is upstaging her fashion wise.  During the 2nd night of live playoffs, it was Team Droopy and Team CeeLo.  Turns out, Droopy had her team over the night before when their stress level was probably at its highest to hang out and listen to her new album before they got voted off the show. Great idea Droopy. Just like Monday night, the two remaining teams started the show off with a combo performance.  Last night they chose "Sing."

I just need to say that the biggest and best difference between The Voice and The X Factor is that on the X Factor they over produce each number with costumes, sound, lights etc. It's so hard to know if some of the singers can actually sing.  The Voice is all about the voice and it works. We don't need all the bells and whistles, we don't

First up, Adriana Luis, from Team Droopy with Katy Perry's "Firework".  Tough song to sing and she did a great job.
Cody Belew sang Geoge Michael's "One More Try" and also knocked it out of the park.  De'borah was next with P!nk's "Who Knew" which is my favorite P!nk song and she was awesome, amazing performance of an amazing song.
The very sexy Diego Val sang Enrique Iglesia's "Bailamos" and was the weakest performance of the night. Even Diego's hottness couldn't help him. Not a good song choice.
I got really nervous when I heard that Mckenzie was going to sing my fave boy band song of the moment, One D's "What Makes You Beautiful." His version was decent, he was cute but I think that Adam's comment was spot on. Mckenzie is more of an American Idol and doesn't have the voice to win the competition.
Devyn Delora performed  Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love." I don't love Devyn, but she can sing.
Nicholas David sang Barry White's "My Everything." He's an odd looking dude and I don't think he'll win, but the crowd loved him and he did a decent job with a tough song.  Droopy looked annoyed during his performance but then said she loved it.
Sylvia Yacoub kicked butt with, in my opinion the best song of the night.  She played the piano and sang Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away." I got the chills from her version of the song.  Very Drooptinaish.
The adorable Dez went next with "Wanted."  If he wins, it's based on looks not voice. He's good, not great.
Trevyn Hunte was the last performance of the night singing Michael Bolton (and Laura Brannigan's) "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You." Very emotional, very strong, chills galore.  He could win.  The show ran long, I'm running long, but yesterday I had nothing, so I made up for it.

NEWS & INFORMATION:  (New section idea...this things a work in progress)

I don't think I watch any shows on USA but obviously a lot of people do since it is one of the top rated cable networks, so the renewal of  Burn Notice for a 5th Season could be important for some of you.

67 million people watched election coverage Tuesday night. I wasn't one of them and I guess 4,999,999 people didn't either since overall, total viewers were down 5 million.

Starting on November 30th, the CW is moving Nikita back to where it did well...Friday night. If you have a season pass, you are fine, if not, consider this a friendly reminder to update your settings.

Thursday's Trivia Question: In the Seinfeld episode when Elaine freaked out about Kramer's girlfriend talking about her shoes...what was the brand of shoes?
