WWTM Last Night

Another super juicy episode of Once Upon a Time last night.  It was Snow's birthday and at first we weren't sure why she hated her birthday so much, but then, we were taken back in time, before Snow's eyebrows went wacko, to the birthday when she was about receive her crown as a kid.  Mrs. Patmore from Downton Abbey was Snow's Mom's assistant back then.  While everyone was getting ready for the big party, Snow's Mom got really sick.  Snow went to the blue fairy who offered her a special candle to save her Mom's life, but if she used it she'd have to kill someone else and she just couldn't do that because she is filled with GOOD not evil.  So her Mom died on her birthday, total bummer. Back in Storybrook  Snow and Eric need to find Gold's dagger before Regina and her psychotic Mom, Cora find it.  They call Gold in NYC and he tells them that the dagger is on the clock hand in the town square.  Great hiding spot, but as soon as Snow and Eric got the dagger, Cora and Regina show up to take it, but not before Snow finds out that Cora was the blue fairy way back when and her Mom didn't really have to die.  Snow freaks out and decides that she's going to the dark side and she's going to kill Cora.  (I'll believe it when I see it).  In NYC, Hook shows up and attacks Mr. Gold with the hook that he got back from the Sheriff's office.  He poisons Gold and disappears.

NEWS & INFORMATION

-I got home on Friday and found out about Bonnie Franklin passing away. Bonnie played Ann Romano on one of my all time favorite shows as a kid...One Day at a Time. One Day at a Time was the first show on TV that reflected a family like mine.  My parents were divorced, I lived with my Mom and my sister in an apartment building and we dealt with life.  We didn't have Schneider, we had various Superintendents over the years. But Ann Romano was like my Mom and I loved them both very much.  I was really sad to hear of her passing.  When you have a connection like that with a show, it hurts a bit when you hear this kind of news.  When Carol Brady goes I just my have to take to my bed.  Anyway, Thanks for everything Bonnie...RIP. This ones for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nJ4K4UebxA

Lots of buzz around the Internet over the weekend that NBC is going to announce at the upfront in May that Jay Leno's contract won't get renewed and my FBFF will take the helm when it expires.  While I would be thrilled for him, I'll believe it when I see it.  At this point, even with the addition of Jimmy Kimmel to the 11:30 time slot, Jay's still holding his own as much as I hate to admit it.  He's obviously got a loyal following and I've always heard that Jay's not the retiring type, but maybe he's ready now.  Maybe he'll go to special niche shows about his car collection or his motorcycle collection or maybe he and Mavis will do a reality show or something.  Who knows.  All I know is that I will do anything I can to support my FBFF for the job if it becomes available.  I guess though, that if that does happen, he'll NEVER have time for a sleepover then.  It's the price of success, I'll deal.

-ABC pulled Zero Hour already...three strikes and their out.  I never watched it so no idea if it was actually good or not.  I still think that pilots and series that get pulled etc. should all get their own channel on the networks or the production companies websites.  How cool would it be if a network let the viewers help program a season?  I would take it really seriously and I bet other people would too.  Even if it was a disaster, it would be great fun, great press and the true power of the people could be seen.  Let us program a night or something...think about it guys!  You paid for these things...let them see the light of day somewhere.

-The CW is bringing back Whose Line is it Anyway.  Aisha Tyler is going to be the host, and Ryan Stile Wayne Brady an Colin Mochrie are all coming back along with a "special guest"  each week.  I didn't love Whose Line the first go around, but if memory serves it did okay, so who knows what will happen this time.

-Okay, I totally admit it, this is one I will probably watch and for a lot of reasons.  Beth Stern, Howard's wife, has a new show coming out on April 20th on Nat Geo Wild (I hope I have this network on my lovely cable system) called Spoiled Rotten Pets.  Here's why I'm going to watch: 1) Howard's going to watch, he's going to talk about it and I need to know what he's talking about. 2) I need to support Beth, she's actually tweeted me back every time I've ever asked her a question on Twitter.  3) I love animals, well, most of them anyway. 4) I know a lot of people that spoil their animals and they are nuts. 4) If I ever have dinner with Howard and Beth I want to be able to offer some thoughts, ideas, notes etc.

-I really need to talk to Andy Cohen.  It's total BS that Adrienne and Camille are both not attending the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion special.  If they sign the contract to get paid for the entire season, that should include the reunion special.  Camille not being their isn't the biggest deal in the world, but Adrienne not being there is huge.  A lot of the drama this season was hers and the audience is owed her attendance.  Andy...DO SOMETHING!

-O'Brien's out too?  WTF Downton Abbey?  First Lady Sybil (Cybil whatever spelling at this point), then Matthew, and now freakin O'Brien? OMG. I hope season 4 isn't the season things jump the shark.  The guy they find to mend Lady Mary's heart better be off the charts or I'm going to...ehhhh I'm going to watch until it dies...who am I kidding?

Monday's Trivia Question: As a tribute to Bonnie Franklin, at least one trivia question...so...Ann had 2 pretty long term boyfriends during the run of the show.  Can you name either of them?  (1 point for each).  Bonus question: One of them had a son, can you name him?  10 point bonus if you know the actors real name WITHOUT GOOGLING IT!
