THE SHOWS

Concert in my town last night, Billy Joel cover band that was awesome, so I only had time for some Deadliest Catch before bed.

Deadliest Catch
Only one more week left of the crab season and the end of the 10th Deadliest Catch season and I'm already going to miss it. Last night Sig sent Mandy home. Sure he tried to feed her all the negative stuff about a life at sea, but Mandy wasn't taking the bait. (Get it?) She wants to come back to the Northwestern, and I'm betting she'll get what she wants. Over on the Cornelia Marie, Captain Casey had a bit of a meltdown when the guys didn't listen to him, but when all was said and done and they hit St. Paul, they had made their due date and over delivered their quota. Weird thing was that when they got to St. Paul and were off loading, some random fisherman dude had found a buoy the guys had let go 100 miles away as a tribute to Josh's dad Phil. It's like he was there to see Josh and the boat succeed. Really weird. The Time Bandit was in dry dock for repairs and Captain Andy had to leave so bro/co-captain, Jonathan just flew back in to finish the season. No explanation as to why Andy had to split mid season which bugged me. The Wizard was 500 miles away and hauling pots with over 500 crab in them up near the Russian border when they ran in to some mechanical issues. Things seem okay…so far. Over on Wild Bill's boat, still lots of trouble with that greenhorn Miles who was over stuffing bait to end the season early and got caught. That guy has had so many issues with crew members. I wonder if it's him or if the bulk of guys trying to get into the business really have no idea how tough the job is. Don't they watch the show? I know I wouldn't last 5 minutes. They say some people will do ANYTHING to get famous, but crab fishing on the Bering Sea isn't worth it in my opinion.

THE OTHER STUFF

-Kirstie Alley tried everything to get ratings. She looked in her contacts, got all of her big time celebrity friends including John Travolta and it didn't help at all. TV Land cancelled her show after just one season. Sorry Kirstie

-For all of my fellow Sons of Anarchy fans, if you haven't seen this video yet…enjoy. It's pretty funny and of course any chance to hear Jax Teller with an accent is an added bonus. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/07/29/charlie-hunnam-sons-of-anarchy-comic-con/

-Just a reminder…Sharknado 2 is tonight!!!

Wednesday's Trivia Question: JR, SueEllen, John Ross, Christopher, Pamela, Cliff Barnes are all part of what show?
