THE SHOWS

Parenthood
I was out late on Friday night but just couldn't go to bed without watching Thursday night's episode of Parenthood. I'm so glad I did too, it was just what I needed after an annoying Bar Mitzvah pick-up. There were laugh-out-loud moments this week when Zeke, Adam and Crosby were talking girls with Max and then of course there were poignant little moments like when Amber's date gave her the "I'll call ya" line and left after learning she was preggers. There was that Nooooooo moment when Joel saw his kids and his wife having fun with a guy that wasn't him. Then there was the teary moment, the ones Jason Katims excels at, like when Crosby, the struggling young father/husband was getting advice from his Dad,  Zeke, who is in the midst of his own struggles. So good, we didn't even miss Hank and Sarah at all.

Reign
I think I'm the only person watching Reign. Nobody EVER asks me about it, but it's really, really good. Just the accents alone are enjoyable. Then there's the scenery, the costumes and shockingly there's a great story and strong acting. At this point, the plague has passed and our young King and Queen are working hard at becoming respectable rulers and producing an heir. Francis decided to claim his bastard son who he had when he cheated on Mary with her best friend Lola. Mary was cool about it because she is the BEST wife and friend ever and she was feeling guilty about NOT being able to get pregnant herself. We heard the good news that Mary was pregnant but it only lasted until the commercial break because she ended up losing the baby during Lola's kid's christening. I really hope that Francis doesn't cheat on Mary again. I love them together, but he may start to freak out if Mary doesn't give him a kid soon.  Toby Regbo,  the actor that plays Francis, is a very different looking leading man. Normally I wouldn't be into his kind of look. Maybe it's the King thing or the accent or a combination of the two, but I'm enjoying him.

Alpha House
Season 2 of Alpha House is now available on Amazon Prime. I love this show. Mark Consuelos, John Goodman, Mark Molloy and Clark Johnson are 4 Republican senators who all share a house in D.C. while the Senate is in session. It's actually based on a true story. Apparently , Dick Durbin, Chuck Shumer and George Miller were all roommates. The Senators are all nuts in their own way, but it's the 2 Marks that steal the show. Mark Consuelos plays Andy Guzman, an engaged sex addicted Senator from Florida with eyes on The White House and Mark Molloy who plays a married conservative Senator from Nevada who everyone thinks is gay, except his wife. There are only 10 episodes and they're all less than 30 minutes. I'll have the entire season done by next week.

Survivors Remorse
Nothings changed, I still don't like anyone in this show but I still like the show as a whole. Cam never really practices basketball or anything. He and his cousin are obsessed with building his "brand." So This week Cam and his family were trying to find a church in Atlanta to join. Not because they are so religious, but because it's good for the Cam-brand. The one they liked had an issue with MaryCharles's lesbianism. Cam tried to buy the Reverend off, but of course it totally backfired. The reverend ended up kicking MaryCharles and every other gay congregant out of the church. Ya had to see how it went to down to appreciate the entire incident. Cousin Reggie and his wife weren't into looking for a church to join, but they were looking for a country club. While at the club, Reggie insulted Ernie Johnson enough to be blackballed. Cam got a 10 million dollar endorsement deal with Under Armor but lit the check on fire. He's holding out for more money. Ugh these people are so unlikeable.

Real Housewives of NJ Secrets Revealed
What do you do when you want the RHONJ Reunion shows to all fall during November Sweeps? Put together a clip show of all the footage that didn't make the original episodes. The reunion shows ratings are going to be big since it was filmed AFTER the Giudice's sentencing. I don't blame Bravo at all for prolonging it all as much as possible. Kachinnnnnng!  I don't know what secret was revealed in last nights Secrets Revealed episode. I don't think we needed to know that all of the girls had their periods when they went to AC together. TMI!  Reunion…we want the reunion!

Madam Secretary
I'm really struggling with Elizabeth's long sleeve blouse under the 3/4 sleeve jacket look. I think it looks really weird when she's walking around the office with those sleeves. Nobody's commenting on it behind her back, but then again, they were dealing with some serious genocide issues in West Africa and the possibility that Nadine was a spy. So maybe Elizabeth's sleeves weren't THAT important. Gotta be honest, I thought Louis Gossett Jr. died. Nice to see him alive and well and playing a very interesting character. I've never been to confession, is it normal for the priest to have his cellphone in there with him? I wouldn't think so, but I guess if you're also a drug smuggler then maybe exceptions are made. Again, Henry, Elizabeth's husband didn't disappoint. He's still too good to be true and I'm hoping we don't find out his secret (if he even has one) any time soon.

Good Wife
Just when I had FINALLY gotten "Call Me Maybe" out of my head...it's back in there again thanks to Elsbeth and Kyle MacLachlan. How hilarious was that scene? OMG too good. This Cary thing is insane. He's right, they aren't going to stop going after him until they get him. He needs to stay in his apartment and just start bingeing on shows. Order some sushi and go for House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Game of Thrones. That'll keep him busy and out of trouble. The last scene back at the Lockhart/Gardner offices was tough. No words were said but both women were thinking about Will. First time in a while we also thought about him. I have a question. Does ANYONE at Florick/Agos know that Alicia is running for States Attorney? Why don't they? It's all over the news at this point and yeah, they're all busy, but I'd think they'd bring it up, no?

THE OTHER STUFF

-And the first Primetime program to be cancelled for the 14/15 TV Season is...Manhattan Love Story on ABC. KNEW IT!

-This blog has a few rules, one of them is that it is a Honey Boo Boo free zone, but I have to give props to TLC for cancelling the show. I'm not going to go into it any more than that. I've hated the show since Day 1 and am thrilled that TLC did not take advantage of a scandal and instead ended their relationship. THUMBS UP BIG TIME!

-Random thought. How about a place online or something for ALLL of the failed shows, pilots, etc? They're sitting out there somewhere, right? www.theseshowsucked.com? I bet there are old pilots, or old shows that may not have even sucked THAT bad. How about a YouTube channel or something where everyone can send allllllll of the stuff we DIDN'T see. What if there's a hidden gem in there somewhere, or what if you just have had a few too many and want to make fun of network execs for even greenlighting a show this bad in the first place? I'm sure there's a reason or maybe I just stumbled on a great idea that someone will make money from. Send um to me! I'll post um all here!

-Have you seen the Brad Pitt episode of Between Two Ferns? No??? YOU NEED TO! Here ya go! http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/83609486f9/between-two-ferns-with-zach-galifianakis-brad-pitt

-Also, just wanted to mention that SNL was hilarious this week. The last time it was this funny was when Jimmy and Justin were on. Congrats to Jim Carrey! Great appearance!

Monday's Trivia Question: Marcia Strassman who played Mr. Kotter's wife on Welcome Back Kotter passed away over the weekend. In honor of her, a Welcome Back Kotter trivia question: How did every episode of Welcome Back Kotter start?
