Arya sure gets around doesn't she? If you think about how far she's traveled all by herself it's pretty impressive. My kid can barely get to baseball practice by himself and this chick saw her Daddy get decapitated, left town and traveled all over Westeros in the same pair of underwear with just a giant and a giant. She's fearless, isn't she? I'd freak out from the black guy who changed into a white guy right before my eyes. She wasn't even phased by the giant statue she had to sail through to enter Braveos. She didn't look up to see what was underneath the warriors skirt. I know I would have, but she hasn't lost focus at all. Dani's having some major issues, Tyrion and the Eunuch better get to her soon and help her do some damage control. She made a pretty big mistake having one of the unsullied's decapitated. The whole place went crazy and literally hissed at her. It was pretty freaky actually. One of her dragons paid her a visit and even he was disappointed by his Mom's situation and split. Brienne's not having an easy time keeping her promise to protect Arya and Sansa. Neither one of them want her help, but she's not giving up. Sansa was the one who saved her this go around but you know she's going to save one of them at some point.. Jamie went on a mission to get his daughter, Myrcella back from Dome but he needs help. Someone with 2 hands maybe, so he went to Tyrion's bud with an offer he couldn't refuse. While Jamie's away, Cersei's enjoying her Queen Motherly duties and making appointments for her son because he's just too busy playing with his slingshot or whatever young boys without an Xbox played with back in the day. Jon Snow was made an offer he could and did refuse. Lord of Winterfell. He turned that down to be the Commander of the Nights Watch. That Jon Snow, so noble, so stupid, but still sooooo cute.
High Profits
I loved the show Weeds and I've watched most of the documentaries about weed and the legalization of marijuana and as you know, I love reality shows. High Profits is where all of these intersect. The show follows Christine and Brian, the owners of the Breckenridge Cannabis Club. They took a risk a few years back and opened up a medical marijuana dispensary on Main Street in Breckenridge and barely made ends meet. On January 1, 2014, the sale of weed for recreational use became legal and Christine and Brian had a line out the door at 8am. It was 20 degrees and snowing and they still ha lines at 10pm. They made 47K in cash day 1 and 100K in the first 2 days. The town of Breckinridge wants to shut them down at the end of their lease and have them move away from the downtown area. This show follows their story. Just the piles of cash are worth tuning in for.
Nurse Jackie
I knew Jackie would end up back at All Saints. She had to pawn her wedding band and silver and steal some pills from an old woman she was caring for but that wasn't enough for to pay her lawyer so she went to remortgage the house and found out Kevin already did that and forged her name. Soooooo blackmail was next. Kevin forked over his Rolex, the Jeep and his daughters so that she wouldn't hall him back to court. I didn't think Kevin was into labels, but he was driving a Audi, and sporting a Rolex. That new wife's no good for him. Jackie's buds at the hospital were making Jackie jokes when Eddie walked in on them. He's so whippped and now Akalidis is on to him and wants to audit his pharmacy. I cannot remember if Coops fiance is really pregnant or not. Anyone know? The Royal Pains guy got Jackie back on the payroll, but she can't much. No patients, no meds, no license, no blue scrubs and 1/2 pay cut and she of course took the deal. Jackie doesn't look as good in the white orderly scrubs, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.
Backstreet Boys - Show Um What You're Made Of
While I was away, the Backstreet Boys documentary premiered on VH1. I am a huge BSB fan. No judgement. I couldn't wait to sit down and watch. The thing about the Backstreet Boys is that they can actually sing. They're truly talented and after 20 years, they're still together. They've gone through quite a bit over the years. AJ and Nick both had drinking and drug problems, Brian had health problems and of course like most boy bands they had a horrible contract with their manager. The Backstreet Boys were the one of the biggest bands in the world in the late nights and early 2000's until they weren't anymore. It was gone just like that. This documentary chronicled the making of their last album prior to their 20th anniversary tour. It was pretty raw, pretty real and pretty interesting. The guys are older, they all have issues and they don't have a record label. If you're into music at all and enjoy the behind-the-scenes stuff, the inner workings of a band, and how it all works or if you're just a BSB fan, check this one out. It's really pretty good. You don't have to tell anyone you watched, just me.
THE OTHER STUFF
-Still no word on the Comcast/Time Warner merger. Will they or won't they? Who knows, but in the mean time FiOS was about to go public with their new no-contract bundle package for 55 bucks until ESPN freaked out and put the kibosh on it. Their deal with Verizon prohibits ESPN to be included in these types of bundles so, these 3 cable companies will have all hands on deck this AM. I predict a pretty bumpy ride this AM for everyone. Lots of meetings with plenty of action items. Welcome to Monday guys.
-MTV cancelled Eye Candy after only one season and WE cancelled Sex Box after only 5 episodes. Not sure how that one even got greenlit. No surprise there at all.
