Over the weekend, I caught up on a few shows that I hadn't seen before.  First was Jennie Garth's new show on CMT.  Jennie's show A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY is the polar opposite of Shannen's which was a huge sigh of relief for me, quite frankly.  As a 90210 superfan, I was rooting for both women to succeed, but as you know, Shannen's show, was unwatchable.  Jennie and her kids have moved out to the country, to their farm in California.  Jennie and her husband, Peter Facinelli, have separated and she is honest with this situation throughout the first episode.  She is fragile and you can see that she is dealing as best she can.  She looks pretty good and can hold her own around the farm.  In the first episode, she goes to a cow auction and purchases a cow and a calf for the farm for under 2000 dollars.  I had no idea how much a cow would cost and in my opinion she got a bargain. The best part of the episode was that her new assistant, Corrine (who lives in an airstream trailer on the property)  thought that you had to suck a cow's udder to get the milk out.  Jennie bet Corrine that if she was wrong about this then she had to suck the new cow's udder.  Of course Corinne was wrong and to her credit, she didn't renage on the bet...I am going to keep watching...this one has potential.

I also finally watched TANKED, which I had been dying to see and...I love it.  It is amazing at what these guys can do and what's more amazing is that so many people and businesses want crazy fish tanks.  Wade, the owner along with his Dad (The General) and brother-in-law Brett, fly all over the country and create unbelievable fish tanks.  This week it was a pinball machine tank that they needed to try to create.  The guys found a 1977 Stingray pinball machine and were building 3 separate tanks within the machine, but when they went to put the glass scoreboard back on, Wade dropped it into a million pieces, but lucky for them, they found another one, that had to be fed-exed to the job and all was right with the world.  I would LOVE to know how much these things cost...but they never tell you that. I gave this show a Season Pass, and will just watch it when I have time.

Sunday night was really an insane night of TV.  I was plotting it out and finally had to come to terms that I couldn't watch everything I wanted to in one night.  So I decided on ONCE UPON A TIME, GAME OF THRONES and VEEP.  I'll watch REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NJ, NURSE JACKIE and ICE LOVES COCO tonight.  Sunday's are just out of control with the amount of amazing shows on in one night.  You would think the networks would space them out over different nights, but nope...they rely on all of us maxing out our DVR's.

ONCE UPON A TIME was really juicy last night.  It starts out where we get even more back story on Rumplestilskin and his son Balefire.  After Rumple gets the power he wanted so badly, his son hates the man he becomes and makes him promise that if he can find a way for him to get his Dad back with no consequences that he will agree.  Well of course that blue fairy comes back and gives Bale a magic bean that they have to jump into...just as they are about to take the plunge, Rumple lets go of his son and lets him go while he stays in the magic world...so now we know why Mr.Gold/Rumple is such a jerk, he broke his end of the bargain and baled on Bale...anyway, August the mysterious visitor is definitely aware of the Storybrooke situation and he starts nosing around Mr. Gold's shop. Mr Gold checks out August's stuff and finds a drawing of the Rumplestilskin sword so Mr. Gold thinks August is Bale, his pissed off son, coming back to kill him.  When he confronts him and pledges to make it up to him by getting rid of the sword, August turns on him and we find that he is not Mr. Gold's son after all...crazy stuff.  The Rumple makeup is crazy too...I bet Robert Carlisle has to sit in that makeup chair for hours!

Khaleesi was back on GAME OF THRONES and thanks to a guy whose name I could swear was Duck Sauce, is being allowed into the city of Qarth (pronounced Carth) so she and the dragon's won't starve.  Yeah...I love her.  As the wars between the 7 families with a ton of different characters continues. We see just how awesome women were back in these times.  This one girl, helping out after a battle, literally saws off a guys foot to save his life, which definitely turned Rob Stark on but when he starts to flirt with her, she wants no part of him, which of course makes him even more intrigued.  Then we have Aya who is wandering around the war on the run as a boy and just as she is about to be fed to rats driven insane by fire, she gets pulled out by another leader who takes one look at her and knows she's a girl.  Baylish, the guy that knows everything about everyone, delivers what I am guessing is Ned Starks head to his widow whom Baylish has loved since he was a little kid.  She wants no part of him and opens the box to check out her beloveds head. King Joffrey is a crazy masochist who likes to see women beat the crap out of each other and humiliate his soon to be queen, who after being saved by my fave, Peter Dinklange, still proclaims that he is the love her life...wtf??? Last insane thing of the night...this red haired woman in a red cape reveals her pregnant body to yet another leader and seems to give birth to some black smoke monster thing...roll credits.  Holy cow was this episode good and insane all at the same time...

Okay so finally VEEP aired last night after tons and tons of promo's and trailers.  Julia Louis-Dreyfuss definitely did her part as she was on every show possible getting the word out.  Here is what I will say...I think the show has potential...I liked the look and feel, and the actors and the snappy writing, but something was missing...I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a comedy, but there aren't these big laugh moments...more awkward ones than anything else.  Was I blown away...no, but I wasn't disappointed either.  Not like I was with GIRLS, which I considered watching but after seeing the trailer, it annoyed me so much that I bagged it and went to bed.  I will definitely watch another episode of VEEP next week and see what happens.  HBO...something is off...course correction is needed...NEWSROOM better be the show we all think it will be...just saying.

I just don't have room for CELEBRITY APPRENTICE anymore on Sunday nights...2 hours is a lot of time to devote to one show...so I just read about it this morning and honestly...feels pretty close to watching...after learning this morning that they guy I thought would win the whole thing..SPOILER ALERT: Penn Gillette was fired...I am doubly glad I bagged the show altogether.

Yesterday, 4/22 was the 25th anniversary of the launch of the FOX network.  It pains me to say that I remember it well as I was just starting out in the business as an assistant buyer at DMB&B.  Anyway…thought you all might be interested in some key FOX programming highlights:

-Tomorrow night, Jimmy Fallon (who has not called me yet about the sleepover date) will be hosting President Barack Obama on his show.  Yet another topic for our big night…maybe we should plan on a full weekend or is that pushing my luck…beggars can’t be choosers…we just have a lot to cover
