BIg Brother
I was really looking forward to Big Brother last night and of course it didn't disappoint, it rarely does. The mysterious MVP really messed with everyone in the house and caused a general sense of distrust and panic. I loved it. Of course we all knew that America was the MVP and as usual, when you leave America to vote on something important, you never know what could happen.  So after America nominated Elissa as the MVP for 3 weeks in a row, I think they got confused, didn't pay attention, didn't read the fine print, who knows, but I think they  accidentally nominated her for eviction.  Elissa had a meltdown when she heard the news, but Candace talked her off the ledge, gave her a pep talk and got her pumped up for the veto competition. Her talk worked and Elissa won the veto. Of course she took herself off and America chose Gina "bee's nest" Marie to go up against Aaryn and Kaitlin.  I'm fine with any of them leaving. Pick one, don't care, they all have to go.  Here are some other comments...you know I love my Big Brother Bullets:

  • Looking "sketchy" is the least of Aaryn's problems. I nearly died when she said that.
  • Not sure why Amanda is so obsessed with Howard, but she was pissing me off. If you want to be HOH so bad Amanda, win it. She's WAY too aggressive. It's going to backfire soon.
  • I loved Howard & Spencer's idea for forming an "outsiders" alliance, but if you think about it, once you form the alliance, you're no longer outsiders.
  • Howard's grasshopper/ants analogy made absolutely no sense at all and everyone was nodding and agreeing like they actually understood and believed his BS. Lemmings.
  • Did Howard say "We're not PUNS in this thing" when he meant to say "We're not PAWNS in this thing". I'm pretty sure he and Bee's Nest went to the same unaccredited university for their degrees.
  • Helen's pretty smart in guessing that America was the MVP, the woman is a political analyst so she's not an idiot. It must be killing her to be surrounded by morons for entire Summer.
  • How disgusting was that veto competition? Crawling into foul smelling, fly infested mud to look for votes. Nasty.
  • 3 punishments were found in the mud all of which were pretty good: 1) 8pm curfew for 2 nights for Helen, 2) solitary confinement for 24 hours with a super annoying alarm clock that went off every 9 minutes for Judd and 3) Elissa can't participate in next weeks veto competition.
  • For McCrae's 24th birthday, Amanda dressed up in an Anastasia Steele outfit and went all 50 Shades of McCrae on her man. She donned high heels, a one piece black bathing suit and a riding crop and gave him 24 lashes. If I'm a 24 year old guy...not a bad birthday at all.
  • Is Elissa that freaking stupid or that freaking cocky to think she could get away with dissing Amanda and hurting her feelings about the Anastasia get up?  I was surprised at Elissa but even more surprised that Amanda took it so hard. Also wondering what Amanda's parents were thinking when they watched their daughter in that get up.
  • While I was watching BB I was hit with the Time Warner/CBS warnings on TV,  my laptop and on my phone. I'll admit it, I was scared and I'm Cablevision!
Little People in the Big World
OMG, Amy Roloff pisses me off so bad...she can't stand her husband, treats him like crap, and now that all of her kids are gone, she's trying to find herself and something to do. Matt needs tons of help with the business and the farm, but Amy doesn't want to help him at all,  she wants to find her passion. I have an idea Amy...CLEAN THAT HOUSE. It's a disaster. There's sh*t EVERYWHERE! Before you go find yourself and your passion, clean your kitchen, maybe you'll find what you're looking for under that pile of dishes in the sink.  Nope, Amy wants to teach. She was once a teacher A LONG TIME AGO, but I guess when you're a pseudo celebrity, you don't need a teaching degree or an updated certification or anything, you just show up and tell the director you want to teach a class on diversity and they say "ok" go ahead. OMG I wanted to scream.  If all that wasn't pissing me off enough, add their son Jacob to the list. I've been watching this show for YEARS and Jacob's never spoken a word, never did anything but follow his brothers around and play video games and now Amy and Matt are noticing it? Now they decide to get up his butt about his life?  Amy and Matt were SO annoying when they were speaking to Jacob about his future that I was literally screaming at my TV. Of course during all this drama, Matt decided he needed to build a wine cellar. He thought it would be good for the wedding business and it could be a place for he and Amy to "connect" in. Pipe dreams Matt...pipe dreams.  Amy wanted no part of it. Women I know would die if their man could  hang a picture on the wall, let alone build a school house, a western town or a church. Amy's got the most productive dude in the world who doesn't even have 2 working legs and she's still b*tching at him. SHUT UP and clean out a closet Amy!

NEWS & INFORMATION

-First Bill Hader, then Fred Armisen then Seth Myers and now Jason Sudekis is leaving SNL...who's left? Is Lorne freaking out right now? I don't remember a mass exodus like this in SNL history, do you? Just pay Justin Timberlake a boatload of dough to host every week and then you won't need to find anyone else. He can do it all.

-Start the countdown people...Jax Teller and the Sons of Anarchy, Season 6 will premiere in just 48 days on September 10th. I can't wait! I love Jax and the SAMCRO guys. I noticed in some of the Comic Con coverage that Tara cut her hair really short. Bad idea...I really think Jax is a long hair kinda guy. Hope it grows back by the 10th!

-The broadcast networks must be spending a lot of dough these days on lawyers. Between Aereo and Dish Network, FOX is in court every other day.  FOX had to be bummed out when they lost their appeal to shut down Dish Networks Primetime Anytime and their Hopper ad skipping technology. Sucks for the broadcast nets (and us advertisers) big time.

-Time Warner Cable/CBS update...the first extension has been extended a second time and is now Monday. So you'll be able to find out who gets evicted tonight on Big Brother! Thank goodness...breathe a sigh of relief.  Keep talking guys.  I'm betting it's really Julie Chen behind these negotiations anyway..."Leessssss, don't pull the plug yet, I got a great new outfit for the live show tonight and every one's dying to know which one of these racist b*tches is going home...just wait a few more days".  "Okay Jules...anything for you babe".

-If you're a geek (and aren't we all in some way or another?) or know a geek, you may want to invent that online DVR thing I keep wishing we all had and set it for the week of 8/4. YouTube will be hosting Geek Week.  The festival of geekdom will showcase top nerd creators, shows and channels on YouTube.  Super Wednesday will feature super heroes, the supernatural and the super weird. Thursday will be all gaming.  If you're really into it, here's the link:  Geek Week hub.

-Some interesting info on the 50+ peeps:
  • 60% of Boomers [who are 50+] say watching online video has become an important part of their day
  • 40% of seniors [who are 65+] see online video as important to their lives.
  • 75% of Boomers and 68% of seniors report taking some sort of action after viewing a video.
  • 57% were inspired to visit a retailer
  • 37% reported calling a business or organization after viewing an online video.
Thursday's Trivia Question: On Sons of Anarchy, what are Jax and Tara's sons names?
