Sons of Anarchy
Money's tight now that there's no cars or motorcycles to fix, but the gang coughed up enough cash and asked for a favor from the Mayor and moved in to Scoops and Sweets right in the middle of Charming until they can figure out what to do. Pretty funny when you think about it. I loved how nervous the public tried to look when the boys were just sweeping up outside. Maybe it's the giant knife Jax was wearing? Anyway...first order of business, vote in Bobby's guys and promote Ratboy. Awwww so nice right? Nice time over...time for trouble. Gemma convinced the guys to help Vincent/Venus get his nephew away from his evil child pornographer Mom, Adrienne Barbeau! The Sons' don't go for that though. That's where they draw the line. So of course that visit didn't go too well for everyone. Lots of fighting and of course Mom's dead. Oh and the nephew was really Vincent/Venus's SON! Apparently he made a baby before he became Venus and now that they've freed him, his boy will grow up parent less in Seattle and not in Charming. Now on the other side of town, Tara's final plan all came together. We weren't sure why Tara was donating so much blood at the beginning of the episode, but we got the payoff big time. Wendy helped to piss Gemma off by telling her Tara was planning to divorce Jax and leave with the boys. No way Gemma's going for that, so over to the hospital she went. Tara slammed herself into a table and faked losing the baby she was never pregnant with. Apparently she not only faked out Jax and Gemma, she faked us too. Tara was never pregnant, she was just a woman with a plan and that plan went really well. Okay...so moose on the table time...was Tig into Vincent/Venus? He seemed to be and then at the end he had his arm around him/her. Could he be? The guys nuts and Vincent sure had a nice rack. Call me crazy, but that's where I think Tibbs is going next.
The Goldbergs
The list of 80's references go on and on in The Goldbergs and I love EVERY single one of them. Cant Buy Me Love!!! Patrick Dempsey before he was McDreamy (What was his name in THAT movie? 10 points if you get it right) Adam's giant video camera, going to the library to look things up on the microfiche machine, Fruity Pebbles and Pacman cereal, Mattel Football, a Ghostbusters T-Shirt and Adam acting out the amazing Lloyd Dobler scene from Say Anything, keep me 100% focused on this show for all 22 minutes. There was a true story to tell though. Turns out The Goldbergs garage is exactly like my hoarder neighbors across the street. They've saved EVERYTHING since the 70's. The kids found a box of love letters that Murray wrote to an ex-fiance they didn't know about. DUN DUN DUN. When Bev went to the library to look for a photo of Anita, the ex, she found out that Murray had given her a used engagement ring! Anita's. Bev freaked out and was upset that Murray's never romantic, but luckily Adam's been video taping everything and put together a little montage of all the little things Murray does for Bev every day. The show's soooo cute, and sweet and enjoyable. Loved it.
NEWS & INFORMATION:
-Congrats to VH1! Check out those ratings! The TLC movie, CrazySexyCool kicked some serious butt on Monday night! 4.4 million viewers for the primetime airing and another 2 million for the 1130pm encore. I have it on my DVR so I'm betting the Live +7 numbers are going to be great too. 5 point bonus for all the names of all 3 of the members of TLC without looking it up!
- Showtime renewed BOTH, Homeland and Masters of Sex for another season. I'm guessing that the execs at Showtime have actually watched all of this seasons Homeland episodes and that it gets so much better that its worth renewing. Hope their right, because as you know, I'm hangin on by a thread. I haven't written about Masters of Sex yet. I'm watching it though. Every time I go to write about it, I get stuck. Once I figure out my thoughts, I promise to fill you in.
-Sarah Silverman's doing something pretty cool if you ask me. She's posting her "failed" NBC pilot on YouTube for us to take a look at. I watched it yet, but if you have the time, check out Susan 313 and see what the network didn't go for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euSL8cCy4-w
-I'm hoping I'm not the only one that thinks it's pure sacrilege to colorize an I Love Lucy episode. Apparently CBS found a long lost Christmas I Love Lucy and colorized it just for the holidays. It just feels wrong to me.
