The answer to Friday's Trivia Question: Matthew McConaughey's very first words ever uttered in a movie were "Alright, alright, alright" in the Richard Linklater classic, Dazed & Confused. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.

THE SHOWS
Downton Abbey
Everyone knows SOMEthing is wrong with Anna, I mean she's been a wreck ever since the rape and wants to move back into the main house. (Regardless of the rape, I'd prefer the big house too) Mr. Bates assumes it's something he did, and he's freaking out, he even told Lord Grantham about it. I'd hate to be Mrs. Hughes with so many secrets to keep. She sure didn't seem to be that upset about Anna being raped, but when Tom asked her for help with Edith, she kicked her butt out so fast her head was spinning. I guess fertility was never an issue back then, everyone immediately thinks they're pregnant after one shot. Tony Gillingham's pretty romantic huh? He fell in love with Lady Mary in what, like a day? I couldn't believe he asked her to marry him, said he'd wait for her as long as it would take, but of course Mary turned him down and knows she's going to regret it. I think Mrs. Crawley may have turned a corner. She's still mega mourning, but at least now she's doing something OTHER than mourn. I think the good doctor's hoping he can turn her frown upside down if you know what I mean.
Some random thoughts:
- Have we ever discussed the fact that a dogs butt is in the opening credits?
-I would never eat dinner regardless of how delicious it was if I had to wear a bow tie, vest and suit jacket every night.
- Not enough Barrow.
- I miss O'Brien.
-James and Edna in the boot room? Did I know there was a room just for boots?
-The dead love of Mr. Carson's life looked like a man BABY!
-Michael and Lady Edith did it! Maybe she'll be pregnant since everyone on this show thinks they get pregnant immediately after having sex.
-I would've thought there would have been more of a reaction to Lady Rose dancing with a black man.

Looking
It's not for me. It was billed as a gay Sex in the City. I was hoping it was like Queer as Folk. It wasn't, no Brian Kinney type in the cast. Sunday's are a tough night. If I don't have to add it to my repertoire, I'd rather not. I'm not adding this one.
Girls
Holy cow, I can't even imagine what goes on inside Lena Dunham's head all day long? Adam's sister Caroline showed up. Of course she's odder than Adam, she's unattractive, she bites strangers, doesn't believe in waxing and breaks glasses with her bare hands. If Adam's as weird as he is, and she's even weirder, what could their parents be like? Marnie's still losing it from her break-up with George and that he posted a YouTube video of her covering an Edie Brickell song. In the midst of her insanity, she seemed to be able to get Hannah's parents to foot the bill for Hannah's 25th birthday party and then insisted that she and Hannah sing "Take Me or Leave Me" from Rent. Luckily, David, Hannah's editor showed up and got into a fight with Ray (who looks like Ray Romano and Steve Levitan) and the duet ended abruptly. Hannah still seemed to have had a nice birthday and loved Adam's gift of a tooth necklace...his tooth of course. A very naked Caroline scared the crap out of me, and Hannah in the bathroom. I hate/love this freaking show. Please Lena, can you PLEASE at least wear a bra?
30/30: The Price of Gold
I love the Olympics, especially the winter ones. I can't wait for the opening ceremonies. Can't wait. I've always watched them, as long as I can remember. My first big Olympic memory was 1976 with the Dorothy Hamill and then in 1980, the US Hockey Team's "Miracle on Ice". I was really into Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding and their rivalry and was shocked when someone attacked Nancy just before the US Championships that would have determined who would go to the 1994 Olympics. ESPN's newest 30 for 30 installment, recaps the entire story. Tonya Harding participated in the entire documentary, Nancy Kerrigan, not at all. Her husband did all the talking, but that was about it from her side. Tonya didn't look terrible. I'd say sort of like a suburban mom, meth addict, who graduated from rehab and takes it day by day. What was so surprising, other than Matt Lauer with a full head of hair, and that I completely forgot that Nancy Kerrigan didn't end up winning the Gold, was how much I ended up feeling bad for Tonya Harding. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like her, but I felt for her for some bizarre reason. She boxed for a while, fixed cars, did some landscaping and is now married and has a little boy. It was a good documentary, especially in preparation for Sochi. Go USA!
Episodes
A huge shout out to Showtime for making the Sunday night episode of Episodes available early. Watched before I went to the gym Sunday morning. Sunday night's just brutal as we all know. I really enjoy Episodes, especially every scene with Matt LeBlanc. Next time I make pasta sauce, now I'll add butter thanks to him. The thing is, that all the other scenes that feature the other actors are good, don't get me wrong, but I'm still always wishing Matt was in those too. Now that Merc's out, there's a new network executive in and kudos to the writers for twisting us all on this guy within minutes. First we thought he was insane in one way and we sort of didn't like him but then we realized that he is really insane in another way and now we sort of don't like him in another way. Great writing and the first time I thought, okay, this scene's working without Matt. Great show as always, thanks again Showtime, one less thing to worry about tuning in to last night.
SAG Awards
I didn't do bullets for the red carpet, but I had 2 favorite moments. The first was Jared Leto and Emilia Clarke with Giuliana. Emilia totally knew Jared's music, movies etc. and seemed to be flirting with him. He had no idea who she was but I loved how he handled himself. I've been obsessed with Jared all weekend. I watched his documentary, Artifact, on Itunes, which was awesome, and I've been listening to his music too. My other fave moment was Jennifer Lawrence's obsession with her own armpit fat which she identified as an armpit vagina. Of course the girl doesn't have ANY fat ANYwhere and gotta give Giuliana credit for goin with the flow and saying the word vagina. I didn't think she had it in her.
And now...show bullets:
- Rob Lowe, his hair, his bronzer, I love him and will forever.
- Juliette Lewis's forehead...MASSIVE (she probably has to pay for extra botox units to keep that thing in check)
- Way too much eye shadow for Kale Cuoco Sweeting
- Matt Damon opened the show at the podium regally
- Best Supporting Actress in a Movie-Lupita Nyong'o in a gorgeous dress with Brad Pitt rooting her on. (He produced 12 Years a Slave)
- Brad Pitt, even with the sides of his head shaved, is the HOTTEST 50 year old on the planet
- Lots of pressure for James Mardsen sitting next to Oprah all night, I'd be a wreck
- Jennifer Gardner, gorgeous.
- Best Supporting Actor in a Movie-Jared Leto, one of my new obsessions gave a much more polished speech than at the Globes. No mention of waxing but made sure to thank his Mom and throw in an "alright, alright, alright". Damn I love that guy.
- Kevin Spacey was also sporting the too much bronzer look (again) and pronounced Julia Louis-Dreyfus's name wrong and I don't think it was an accident.
- HATED Kerry Washington's crop top thing.
- Best Female Actor in a Comedy TV Series-Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Cute speech/bit.
- It looked like nobody knew who Josh Holloway (also sporting too much bronzer) and his co-presenter were.
- Best Male Actor in a Comedy TV Series-Ty Burrell with a hilarious speech, Here it is if you missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y7b5ibdPq0
- Bryan Cranston, Jason Bateman, Rob Lowe, and Ty Burrell could really do better wife wise, especially now.
- I wonder if Oprah moves that slowly in her own home. It could take her hours to get to the garden.
- John Goodman always reminds me of my friend Danny Cicero
- Steve Levitan looks a lot like Ray Romano and Ray from Girls
- Best Ensemble in a Comedy TV Series-Modern Family
- I was hungry and dying to know what everyone at the SAG awards was eating
- What did you think of Julie Bowen's dress? I actually liked it. Very very different.
- Kerry Washington looked irritated when Sofia Vergara was speaking, but I bet she was just mad at herself for wearing that crop top
- White Shadow Prez of the union isn't aging well, clapped way too loud and long, and seemed to be very into military canines for some reason.
- Rita Wilson better start paying some attention to Tom Hanks before they leave the house. He had too much bronzer in one spot and not enough in another. I thought they had a good marriage, now, I'm having doubts.
- Best Female Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries-Helen Mirren for Phil Spector
- Meryl and Julia together. I can't figure out if Julia needs spanx or if she's already wearing them.
- Ewan McGregor and Emma Thompson, she's hilarious, he's Obi Wan Kenobi, that's what I would have said if I was introducing them
- Best Male Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries-Michael Douglas. No mention of CZJ, but a kiss on the lips and somd very sweet comments for Matt Damon. Is there something we should know guys?
- Lifetime Achievement Award to Rita Moreno. Morgan Freeman looked like a wreck didn't he? Only 11 people have EGOT's, Rita's one of them. She looked amazing, she's 82 years old, used the F-bomb, still has a pretty decent voice and is one of those people that sing ALL the time.
- Best Actress in a TV Drama-Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey, she wasn't there to accept
- Sarah Paulson looked horrible and it was magnified because she was standing on stage next to Lupita Nyongo
- Best Male Actor in a TV Drama-Bryan Cranston of course...good speech...of course
- In Memoriam time...I took a pee break
- Tina Fey's earrings didn't look like they matched
- Best Ensemble in a TV Drama-Breaking Bad of course, what a scary looking bunch. Did you see the guy with the tooth missing and the crazy mustache dude?
- Matt and Jared...love
- What was on Jennifer Lawrence's chest? Red sparkles?
- Was Bruce Dern really sleeping? Looked like it to me.
- Best Actor in Movie-Matthew McConaughey for Dallas Buyers Club, crazy speech, but it worked for him. Forest Whitaker didn't look to happy though.
- Robert DeNiro's looking OLD, he's 70
- Best Actress in a Movie-Cate Blanchett basically said, F You, I'm going to take as long as I want and she did.
- Ben Affleck presented the final award of the night-guess the Damon's are sleeping over again.
- Best Ensemble in a Movie- American Hustle. Bradley Cooper's speech was pretty well done.
- I think Cuba Gooding Jr. went up on stage and wished us all a happy MLK weekend, but I"m not sure.
hitRECord
I don't think I've ever really asked you guys for a favor, and while I always make recommendations on what to watch, I'm officially giving you homework, and asking you for a 22 minute favor. Watch hitRECcord. Thanks to quite a few of you guys, I found the show on YouTube since I don't have Pivot on my cable system and for some reason couldn't access it via Pivot online. Doesn't matter. I need you guys to watch this. It's genius, brilliant, groundbreaking and just something you need to experience. It may not be for you long term, but the concept/premise of it is amazing. Let me see if I can explain it easily. Basically my new FBFF, Joseph Gordon Levitt is the conductor, the aggregator, the maestro, the host whatever. Each episode has a theme and the universe contributes to that theme via text, art, song, info etc. All contributors are acknowledged and compensated. Not every part of the show will interest you, but it moves fast and if you keep in mind the entire time that the entire show is the sum of many parts aggregated from all over the world, your mind should be blown. Please watch it and please let me know what you think. I personally think...it's a game changer.
OTHER STUFF
-We knew that there would be another live musical for NBC (or any network) once we saw how successful The Sound of Music was last December. Well, now, it's official, next year it'll be Peter Pan. That's a big one to take on since there's flying involved. I think they should get Justin Bieber to play Peter Pan...LOL. No seriously, who should play Peter?
-Paul Lee said the ABC show Killer Woman will "end early" to make room from Mind Games. I would bet that if Killer Woman did better ratings wise, it wouldn't be ending a little early...just sayin.
-Over the weekend, Bob Greenblatt, gave me some good news, Park and Recreation will be coming back for a seventh season. I can't believe its been on that long but it has. He also said that Community could be back again, but that he wasn't sure about the Michael J. Fox show. Firing MJF would tough wouldn't it? I bet he prolongs that phone call for as long as possible.

-VH1's Big Morning Buzz, which I've never heard of or seen before will be kicking off its next season with Nick Lachey hosting on March 3rd. The show's moving to the old TRL studio that overlooks Time Square. I'm happy for Nick and may even set my DVR to check it out.
-ABC pulled the plug on cord cutters by imposing an eight-day delay of their programming on non-cable and Hulu subscribers, but the audience may be having the last laugh. They are very resourceful. If they can't get what they want when they want it, they will find a way. ABC's decision has spiked downloads on BitTorrent , which has seen a 300% increase in ABC programming downloads.
Monday's Trivia Question: I learned on the SAG awards that there are only 11 people who have ever EGOT'ed. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it means they've won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony. The last person to have completed the EGOT is currently working in Daytime television. Who is it?
