THE SHOWS
Welcome to Sweden
I was hoping that I'd LOVE Welcome to Sweden. Amy Poehler's the executive producer, it stars her real life brother who looks just like her and Greg Kinnear. Lena Olin's in it, my favorite car of all time is in it (Red 67 Mustang) so I had a good feeling. Unfortunately those are the only good things about the show. Greg Poehler's pretty charming and all, but if the show is meant to be a comedy something must have gotten lost in translation. Greg plays a celebrity accountant who follows the love of his live back to her home in Sweden. Of course because it's a sitcom, they have to live with her parents who he's never met before. Greg's the only good thing about the show. The ONLY thing. So bummed. Typical fish out of water stuff, typical her parents don't like him, some odd naked sauna stuff, and subtitles. Sorry Amy and Greg, no Season Pass. I hope it gets funnier.

Big Brother
- Very strange dress, Julie Chen. I guess Les didn't let her get anything new this season. Definitely looked like a back of the closet item.
- What happened after the POV? What didn't? Britney called out Pow Pow then Pow Pow revealed the fact that she threw the competition and then she and Devin went AT it and then Zach went insane and ripped Devin apart. Insanity? Yes! Ratings gold? YES!
- Devin thought he came into the house as the biggest target? He has a very high opinion of himself.
- Week 2-Bombsquad Alliance already crumbling. Zankie Alliance already crumbling
- I'm really not sure that Devin has any clue what an alliance is. Again without discussing with his alliance, he told Hayden about the Bomb Squad and made him a member. WHAT?
- Jacosta and Victoria are her layin sooooo low, totally off the grid I forgot about them both until Julie spoke to them. Has Jacosta explained her need to wear that ridiculous bowtie?
- What did Frankie have on his face during voting?
- POW's speech was pretty good but she did look like a hooker in that outfit
- Was Zach wearing yellow moccasins? What was on his feet?
- I'm guessing Frankie choreographed those cute routines for everyone going in and out of the diary room during voting…loved it!
- Caleb looked HOT when he voted to evict Pow
- Hayden was a bit over the top during his vote wasn't he? I think in general he's an over-smiler
- Buh Byeeee Pow Pow
- Donny and Pow Pow awwwwweeeee who'd have thought they'd become BFF's
- During her close up, did you ssee how much glitter Mrs. Moonves had on? She better not get it all over Les's gagillion dollar suit after the show. Do they make a glitter roller like the one I have to remove dog hair?
- Loved the bubbles and the jellyfish flying around during the HOH competition
- Julie wanted everyone to have their balls in hand. Hee, hee, hee
- Derrick and Nicole perfect HOH's.
- Activity Trackers? No way…we can see how lazy or how active our houseguests are! That's a new thing. I'm not sure that I care about those facts, but it's something I guess.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Congrats to Jerry Seinfeld for his Emmy nomination! CiCGC is up for Best Outstanding Short Format Non Fiction Programming. Don't forget ME in your acceptance speech Jer. That's Carruba…2 r's!!!! This week, Jerry met Aziz Ansari up in Boston and jumped aboard his tour bus. Jerry did some amazing driving and some even more amazing parking. Aziz seemed like a nice guy. There was some interesting conversation, and of course some coffee. Not the worst episode, not the best episode, but still enjoyable.
Leah Remini: It's All Relative
I was never a huge King of Queens viewer. Leah Remini never did anything for me, but she was pretty good on Howard Stern and of course we're all very intrigued by Scientology. When I heard that Leah and her family left the church after 30 years and were starring in a reality show, I had to check it out. She did explain that they are all shunned and have no contact with all of their friends and family that are still in the church but that was pretty much it. Then it was just her and her family. Leah seems to think her family is crazy, nutty, sick etc. To be honest, they aren't THAT crazy, THAT nutty or THAT sick. Her Mom is annoying, her daughter's way too old to still have a Nanny, and that's really about it. In the first episode, Leah spent a ton of money on a huge party for the friends she still does have. Interesting though that with all that money she and Cheryl Burke were cleaning bird poo themselves. There's a weird vibe between Angelo and the Nanny…just sayin. That's really it. No season pass, but I would watch again if there's nothing else on.
THE OTHER STUFF
-Someone at FOX is smarting up. The final season of Glee will, thank goodness, there will only be 13 episodes next season. If it were up to me, one "very special episode" and done. It really ended 2 years ago at graduation but I'm loyal to the very bitter shark jumped end.
-Cinemax's new drama, The Knick, hasn't even premiered yet and it's already been renewed for a 2nd season. I feel a bit off my game as I have no clue what it's about and was too lazy too Google it before I hit send today. It premieres on August 8th and stars Clive Owen whom I love, so I'm thinking I better look into it.
-Some Emmy Thoughts:
- The following shows were robbed: The Good Wife, Masters of Sex, Parenthood, The Goldbergs, Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead, The Americans & Parks & Rec
- The following actors & actresses were also robbed: Tatiana Maslany BIG TIME, Wendi McClendon-Covey BIG TIME, Rob Lowe (for Killing Kennedy) Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, Merritt Weaver, James Spader, Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Jeff Perry and Guillermo Diaz from Scandal
- I'd get rid of: Modern Family, Silicon Valley, Michelle Dockery, Ricky Gervais, Lena Dunham and Melissa McCarthy
- Happy about The White Queen, Killing Kennedy, The Normal Heart, the fact that American Idol WASN'T nominated and Lizzie Caplan
- Anything upset you with the Emmy noms? Let me know!!!
-ABC's using the same strategy that I loved for Kelly Ripa when Regis "retired" for The View. Guest hosts! I honestly think it's the way to go. Get Rosie and Whoopi and start rotating all sorts of different people. They did it for what seemed like a year with Kelly and it sucked me in big time if you remember correctly. I haven't watched The View in years. Deleted the Season Pass a long time ago, but starting next week, I'm checking it out. A little controversy = BIG RATINGS
Friday's Trivia Question: Danny Tanner worked on what morning show?
Have a great weekend!
