The guys on the Northwestern aren't thrilled with Mandy on deck. I get that. Sure Uncle Edgar woke up her up by lighting a fire in her cabin, but everyone definitely felt like they couldn't push her too far. Sig's not sure what he's doing with his daughter on the boat either. He actually came out of the wheelhouse and sorted crab and then had Mandy in the wheelhouse steering during some crazy weather. The deck hands weren't too happy about that at all. Josh Harris had to do something to change the Cornelia Marie's luck and get on the crab so he went old school…mohawk time! Guess what, it worked! Back on the crab for Josh. Gotta admit, I felt a huge sense of relief when they pulled up that first crab filled pot. We're all rooting for the kid aren't we? I can't believe Elliot's girlfriend is as cute as she is. Could it be because he's on TV that he got her? He's a drug addict and he's disgusting. She flew in to Dutch Harbor and her man is sick with a kidney infection to boot. He grosses me out. Over on the Cape Caution, Wild Bill was all over his son for not checking the bilge pump. I think he went a bit overboard but maybe it was because it WAS his son that he did so. Tyrant
Luckily there weren't too many scenes with Barry/Bassam's (BB) annoying wife and daughter and only one scene with Sammy and his BF but it was a good one. Sammy was gettin some down by the beach. Good for him. BB's friend Fauzi needed some help getting his rebel daughter back to him so he BB some info on the dude that tried to kill Jamal. In the process, BB found out that his brother is a rapist who would get his kicks while the woman's husband and kids were right outside the door. Wait till BB finds out that Jamal also raped his sons new wife who now won't sleep with him. BB went back to the palace and got into it with Jamal, but I guess they like to work things out in the steam room for some reason. Odd to go take a steam at 2AM in the morning but I guess whatever works right? BB got Jamal to release some prisoners, and take care of his victims kids even though he still let the army hang her husband. I guess that was fair…sort of.
THE OTHER STUFF
-Rosie O'Donnell's returning to The View. I guess she's fine with it since Bill Geddes is out. Pretty sure she didn't get along with that guy since he was responsible for the split screen incident that had her quit the show to begin with. I'm sure she also cut herself a good deal. She and Whoopi will be good together now they need some conservatives or some guys or something to help get the ratings and viewership up.
-Nielsen revealed its plan to begin measuring mobile TV viewership this Fall. They're going to embed a meter for digital content in apps, FEPs and browsers that can identify when a piece of content is running. The software meter picks up the audio watermarks that are already used for linear TV measurement. The new data will be rolled into traditional TV ratings in some data sets at the beginning and expand further over time. Initially the service will launch in national numbers and then follow into local markets numbers. Turning machine based info into demo info will be tricky. Nielsen will use Facebook to cross match for demo info as available. It's something right? We know there's viewership that's not being measured, so aggregating it is a start in the right direction.
