My son has a huge Science Test today. We studied. WE! He was stressed, I was stressed. Sure we took a break to watch one episode of White Collar but then it was back to planets, meteors, asteroids etc. Sometimes I just can't watch too much because I gotta do what I gotta do. Lets just hope it wasn't for nothing and the kid passes the test and doesn't have a nervous breakdown.
THE SHOWS
Other than White Collar, I only had a chance to watch Sunday night's Newsroom. Crazy show. I forgot how much my brain hurts when I watch this show. I'm SO not a news junkie. I don't have a passion for hard news in any way. I do appreciate these characters and their passion for news and the 1st Amendment, but if someone was offering me 6 billion or 4 billion or whatever for my shares in the company, I just might take them up on it. Or if I accidentally stumbled on 27,000 classified documents and accidentally stumbled into an espionage situation, I just might not tell anyone about it. Instead, Neil felt so strongly about what he found, he had to tell his bosses, and his lawyer and now...he's officially off the grid and on the run. Could Will and Neil both end up in prison? Maybe that's how Aaron Sorkin's going to end the show, with both of them in handcuffs and orange jumpsuits. So many words per episode that it is really hard to boil it all down sometimes. I have no idea if Don and Sloan are a thing or not. It's super confusing. I also struggled with Maggie eavesdropping on Toby from The Office, on her train ride home from Boston, and then using it all against him. Kat Dennings from 2 Broke Girls is apparently Reece's half-sister who really hates him and his Mom. Meryl Streeps' daughter got fired for a pretty rude tweet, but Bill is still into her. This show still exhausts me. I don't know how Aaron Sorkin can write all those words AND still take 6-8 showers a day, but he does.
THE OTHER STUFF
-I hadn't heard about Bono's 2 brushes with death until last nights Tonight Show. It was supposed to be U2 week but apparently last week, the door on Bono's plane fell off mid-flight and then over the weekend he was in a bicycle accident in Central Park and needed surgery. Doesn't he know it's Sweeps? Here's where I gotta give my EFBFF props. He's SO talented that he just stepped in for Bono and the band himself, check it out: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show#segments/66711
-So You Think You Can Dance was renewed for a 12th season, America's Top Model for a 22nd season (can you believe that?) and Masters of Illusion for its 2nd season. I wasn't expecting it, but it makes sense that when the star of your show is in her 90's you should pull it's plug before you may need to pull hers. (You can tell me if that was offensive. I wasn't sure whether to keep it or chuck it.) Hot in Cleveland is done after it's current 6th season. Betty White can finally take a vacation, and maybe write that book she has in her.
-TV Guide Network is becoming the new POP Network on January 14th. I'll find out more about it and let you know if there are any juicy shows we need to watch.
Tuesday's Trivia Question: Of the 6 Friends cast members, 4 have starred in their own TV series and 2 have not. Name the 4 and any one of their series. Points for everything.
