THE SHOWS
Homeland
Wow, Carrie sure has a lot on her plate these days. Well...she does every day, but she was supposed to be closing up shop but Quinn's gone after Haquani/Hagani however you spell it and she needs to find him so she can go home to her unfortunately really uncute kid and attend her Dad's funeral. When it rains it pours. Nice to see her show some emotions though. Also nice for the Director to call and see if he could do anything. Yeah dude...DON'T OPEN ANYMORE VAULTS AND GIVE UP OUR GUYS (and girls). Carrie of course found Quinn in all the chaos and talked him off the ledge but then she got on the ledge and got ready to shoot until cutie Khan stopped her with the episode shocker...Dar Adai was in Haquani's car! WTF? Now I'm confused again.

Newsroom (Series Finale)
Perfect ending, but I didn't expect anything less from Aaron Sorkin. Regardless of who's funeral you had to attend, the news never stops and the show must go on. Talk about the circle of life. Same day Will was burying his best friend he learned that he was going to be a father. In addition to learning she was going to be a Mom, Mac also found out that she would be running the network. Thanks Jane Fonda! Mac's promotion set the dominoes in motion. She promoted Jim after Don turned the executive producer gig down. Jim finally got Maggie and he had gotten her an interview for the job of her dreams in Washington D.C. but then when he got promoted, he wanted her to take his job but they're going to do the long distance thing instead. He gets it. Finally. He's supporting the woman he loves as she pursues her dream. I actually think they'll be okay. Sloan and Don will be okay too. Lots of flashbacks to Charlie and how he impacted Will and Mac, plus a musical interlude with Charlie's grand kids and then a flashback to the day it all started for this team and for the viewers. Did anyone catch the way Will  ended the newscast back then? He used "stick around" which was the same way Casey and Dan ended Sports Night each night. Loved that one Aaron! Neil came back and got right to work rebuilding the site he had built up in the first place. The circle of life. I'm glad Aaron decided to end this when he did. Sure it could have gone on but it was a good move. I'm satisfied in knowing that the ACN team is out there in my fake TV land doing their thing.

THE OTHER STUFF

-Well, they didn't completely listen to my advice but they're sort of on the right track. American Idol is getting rid of its results show for the upcoming season. They should have done this a while ago. With ratings at an all time low last season, they should have really just bagged the 2nd night altogether but with nothing else to run in it's place, I guess FOX is kind of screwed. So they're keeping the two nights during the audition process so that anyone who's stlll watching can watch all the freaks and rejects. Once they're down to the top 10, Only one show a week. Maybe by then FOX'll have a plan for that other hour. Fingers crossed Empire is a hit.

-I guess Les isn't interested in thinking too much about innovative cool new programming ideas. He's all about the franchise. If my count is right he has 4 NCIS's, 3 CSI's, and now, there will be another Criminal Minds show. I don't watch any of um. Not one.

Monday's Trivia Question:This actor started out working for Jon Stewart, then took a job over at Dundler Mifflin and currently stars as John Dupont. Name him.
