THE SHOWS
Big Brother
- Didn't love Julie's giant flower dress. It wasn't horrific, but I didn't love it. The hair was still good. She changed the earrings and gave up the ginormous index finger ring. Loved the red heels and her "but first" joke.
- All of you guys were texting and emailing me about how thing Julie looked but once she stood sideways, I thought she could use a pair of Spanxx for that bit of belly. Maybe she only lost weight in the chest/neck/arm sections?
- Next wave of new house guests entered the house. First was Liz from Miami who wore lingerie to meet Julie. She looks like Scarlett Johannsen's not so attractive sister doesn't she?
- I'm already wishing that Jason, the gay Pee Wee Herman stock boy who lives in his Mom's basement and has the most annoying voice ever, gets voted out first. No way can I deal with him all Summer.
- LOVING Vanessa, the poker player. She went to Duke and studied Game Theory. Who knew that was even a thing to study? If she didn't become a poker player and didn't get on Big Brother, what would she do with that degree?
- John the Dentist is a freak. Somethings off about him. He's also a yeller, but he's sort of a creepy yeller. No way would I go to him for a cleaning or a cavity. He'd freak me out.
- I liked Becky the Colorado outdoorsy chick. She could be enjoyable all Summer.
- Steve the engineering student with erector sets in his basement is super awkward. Did you see when he started counting house guests? I'm going with Aspbergers.
- Jace calling Colorado "rado" had Becky and me cringing.
- Loved Austin the wrestlers comment about him being Seabiscuit and Jason being his jockey. It did look like Austin could eat him in one bite.
- Audrey came out again. Everyone in the house seems fine with it.
- Did Julie move at all last night? I think just one pivot, but no actual steps taken. Her Fit Bit had to be pissed off by the lack of action. Hopefully she only ate a stalk of celery.
- Phil Keogan from the Amazing Race showed up for the first Big Brother takeover and gave us Jackie and Jeff from the last episode. They are saying that they are no longer a couple, but I'm not sure I'm buying it.
- Still enjoying the BB takeover music
- 2nd HOH challenge was creepy and had special effects but I wasn't convinced that the spaceship was pulling everyone up randomly, were you? It was a bizarre competition.
- Jason won the 2nd HOH now we'll have to hear him deliberate with James my favorite Summer obsession. He's the Asian country kid whose voice doesn't match his face.
- D'vonne and Vanessa both sat out of the competitions and now Phil has a surprise for them. I'm betting they're both going to be on The Amazing Race.
For the record. In BB 5 we had Project DNA. Remember? There was Cowboy and Nacomis who didn't know they were siblings and there was Adria and Natalie who were identical twins and switched places every few days. So the twin thing coming our way this season is NOT a new twist. It's been done before. The Internet is a glorious place. For all you BB fans, check out BBwiki http://bigbrother.wikia.com/wiki/Project_DNA great source of info for BB lunatics like me.
-Forgot to mention yesterday that Howard Stern has already said that he won't be back to AGT next season. I sort of expected that but I'm hoping it's not a sign. Howard's Sirius contract is up at the end of the year and the guys 61 years old and has a ton of dough. I've been commuting with Howard since 1988 I guess I'll have to retire from commuting if Howard retires from Sirius. I honestly have no idea how to commute without him.
- Anyone watching Aquarius? I haven't heard much about it, traditional numbers aren't anything super juicy but apparently digitally it does really well. I can't stand David Duchovny, but NBC announced they are renewing the show for a 2nd season.
-Lifetime announced that Project Runway All Stars was renewed for a 5th Season. Can you name a Project Runway All Star? I'll be honest, I can't. I don't watch it. The only current model whose name I know is Gigi Hadid, but that's because her Mom is Yolanda Foster from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
-The Trump for President insanity continues. Trump better start rethinking his stance on unemployment benefits. He sort of just got fired. Univision and NBC are both pretty pissed off by some of the crazy things the Donald had to say during the announcement he made announcing his bid for the presidency. The Donald had some things to say about Mexican immigration and now his "friends" at NBC and Univision have dropped Trump's Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Also no word on when and if the next edition of Celebrity Apprentice will see the light of day.
-With transgender being the "thing" these days, Jeffery Tambor's Transparent has already been renewed for season 3 and season 2 hasn't even premiered yet. Transparent's first season premiered before Caitlyn Jenner's big reveal and now transgender's trending everywhere. Makes sense for Amazon Prime to continue to strike when it's hot.
-Comedy Central is giving Jon Stewart quite the Jonvoyage. A month long tribute includes continuous multi platform streaming of every episode of The Daily Show Stewart has hosted starting back in January of 1999. It all begins today at 12N on the Comedy Central App and at Comedycentral.com. Starting 8/1 on Sirius XM you'll also be able to listen to shows which I just might do if Howard's on vacation. I came late to the Jon Stewart party.
