THE SHOWS
THE EMMY'S
- Leave it to FOX to triple dip…Rob Lowe who stars in the new FOX show, The Grinder was hanging with the FOX NFL guys on the Emmy Red Carpet. Also knowing FOX, I'm sure he got paid nada for the extra hours.
- Of course this blogger LOVED Andy Samberg's "I Watched Every Show" opening number. The TV Viewing Bunker...that's my family room. Loved the list of shows about wives…hilarious
- Andy's opening monologue was funny and awkward all at the same time
- I did love Jane Lynch as the mean nun from Game of Thrones to deal with anyone whose speech went on too long. Problem was, they didn't pay that off anywhere.
- Lena Headey is truly unrecognizable when she's not in her Game of Thrones garb. She can go food shopping, pick up her dry cleaning and her CVS perscriptions without anyone asking her for a selfie. A blessing and a curse I bet.
- Kyle Chandler in da house and looking toooooo good! I miss Coach Taylor everyday.
- Amy Poehler and Amy Schumer both looked awful.
- Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy-Allison Janney for Mom. I loved her dress and she has some kick ass arms, but I did experience a small dose of doosh chills when Ali decided to sing part of her acceptance speech.
- Abby Hoffman is HIDEOUS and scary, she is super gross in Girls and even grosser in Transparent.
- Tracy Ellis Ross was having a great hair and eye day which was actually a bummer because she was having a terrible dress and bracelet day. Ugh what a mess.
- Best Writing for a Comedy Series-Veep peeps win the prize
- Ricky Gervais is funnier on talk shows and award shows than he is in any show I've ever seen him in
- Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy-Tony Hale for Veep which I think everyone was SHOCKED about. Loved the zipper check. Would have been funnier if his zipper was in fact down but funny nonetheless
- Damn you Samberg…The Taxi reunion excited me for 10 seconds, he got me with Taxi THE MOVIE and not the show.
- EVERY SINGLE TIME I see John Stamos, I say to myself "Damn that guy looks GOOD…how OLD is he?" Every time. Well, to set the record straight...he's 52!
- Joan Cusack + Bradley Whitford = Fashion trainwreck. Who wears a stetson to the Emmy's and LEAVES IT ON throughout the ceremony? Doesn't that piss off everyone sitting behind him?
- Best Director for a Comedy-Jill Soloway for Transparent (NOT A COMEDY!!!)
- What do all the Green ribbons mean??? I looked it up and couldn't find the answer.
- Andy's "tribute" to Girls…inappropriate but actually spot on when you think about it.
- Jimmy Kimmel's awesome. Loved that he ate the winner of Best Actor in a Comedy. Just wondering if they had a spare for the winner to keep. I'm betting Jeffery Tambor would want to frame the envelope and hang it by the toilet or something.
- Will Forte's beard is nasty! I bet I could find some snacks and even perhaps a small rodent in that thing.
- Best Actor in a Comedy Series-Jeffery Tambor, who is great in Transparent, but again, the show and his character aren't funny...AT ALL!
- Did Seth Meyers get a spray tan before the show?
- The Best Boss Mug bit would have been awesome of Lorne actually became part of the skit, bit of a clunker.
- Best Actress in a Comedy-Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep. Her earrings and bracelet were sick.
- I feel like Key gets all the accolades and attention and Peele gets nada.
- Best Reality Competition Program- The Voice
- Mark Burnett's hair was desperately in need of a trim. Didn't Roma make him a haircut appointment before the Emmy's? What's wrong with her?
- How many people does it take to produce The Voice? Seemed like there were 50 people on that stage with Mark Burnett
- James Cordon's awesome I love that guy. Only he could make the accountants fun. Selfie with the Ernst & Young team. Take that Kardashians!
- My husband brought something to my attention. The Emmy set looked like the core of the Death Star.
- Best Writing for limited series or movie - Olive Kitteridge
- Trending…dresses with chains, real chains. I'm thinking it's a 50 Shades remnant.
- Jane Anderson, the Olive Kitteridge chick was pretty kookie, but damn she's got some great arms. She could have used a bra…just saying. Did Jane forget her son's name? I think she might have.
- Best Supporting Actress in a special or limited series-Regina King for American Crime
- Regina King had some great arms too! I really need to work harder on my arms but she could have used some blotter paper. She was so shiny that other people could have used her to see if they needed blotter paper.
- I enjoyed Andy Samberg's tux changes. Did anyone notice.
- I haven't checked, but according to Andy, you can use his ID and Password for HBO GO. Here it is. khaleesifan3@emmyhost.com Password is: Password1
- Andy referenced being able to watch Arliss on HBO GO, for the record, Arliss is NOT THERE. I tried to find it a while ago. No Arliss
- We love John Oliver!
- Best Direction for a Limited Series or Movie-Olive Kitteridge. Did ANYONE watch Olive Kitteridge? Should I binge it? I'm not a huge Frances McDormand fan.
- When I see and hear Maggie Gyllenhaal it makes me appreciate even more, her role in The Honorable Woman.
- Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie-Bill Murray for Olive Kitteridge. Bill doesn't do award shows, more time for another winner's acceptance speech.
- Andy Samberg's "I'd Like to Give the World and Emmy" skit was pretty funny
- OMG IS Rob Lowe HOT or what. Even Kerry Washington was thinking "Damn Rob Lowe is HOT!"
- Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie-Frances McDormand
- Frances could have thought about putting on some makeup, getting her hair done and leaving that shmata at home. It looked like she just got done composting or something didn't it?
- The Tatiana Maslany and Tony Hale bit where they were out on the Red Carpet eating cans of beans was sort of random and bizarre
- Lady Gaga looked very serious with the exception of the tattoos in all the wrong places
- Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie-Richard Jenkins for Olive Kitteridge and I swear I thought he died last year. Glad to see he is very much alive and not included in the IN MEMORIAM reel.
- I STILL automatically call Fred Savage Kevin Arnold whenever I see him. I hope his new gig in The Grinder changes that...for his sake.
- Would have been a good idea for the Andy and Emmy guys to put a "Spoiler Alert" on the entire farewell to the shows we said goodbye to last season.
- Again…you'd NEVER know that was Cersei Lannister sitting there. NEVER
- Best Limited Series or Movie-Olive Kitteridge
- What are your thoughts about tuxedo's and sneakers. Saw a few in the audience and on the red carpet and I bet it really pissed Ryan Seacrest off, but I sort of like it.
- Happy Birthday to George R. R. Martin, that guy looks like he's going to die before finishing the Game of Thrones books. I of course don't wish that on him, but he's not the healthiest looking dude, is he?
- Best Writing for a Variety Show-The Daily Show
- Best Variety/Sketch Show- Inside Amy Schumer. Still can't stand her.
- Jaime Alexander's the new chick from Blindspot. I had no ide she was married to Peter Facinelli.
- Best Writing for a Drama-Game of Thrones.
- Wow, I didn't now that Amanda Peete was married David Benioff, the Game of Thrones guy. I'd see it's SHE who lucked out, especially since every show she's in always gets cancelled.
- Bruce Rosenblum's wife was sooooo psyched to see him on stage, he totally got some action last night.
- Name ONE, just one, famous person in TV who got their start from the Television Academy's Program. Melissa and Eddie, this years winners will be forgotten instantaneously
- Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts look super weird together. I wonder what Jamie Lee thinks about all this transgender stuff since rumor has it she was born a hermaphrodite.
- Best Supporting Actress in a Drama-Uzo Aduba. Last year she won for the same role but it was a Comedy Series then.
We got Uzo…you're grateful and you love me and you thank EVERYONE ever - Best Director for a Drama-David Nutter for Game of Thrones. I'm sure all the kids that made fun him and called him NUTter or Nutter Butter or worse was shaking their heads last night.
- Best Supporting Actor in Drama-Peter Dinklage. Did anyone know he was from Morristown NJ? I LOVE PD but I realllllly wish he didn't go for the mini man bun. Not sure who thought it was a good idea. It wasn't.
- In Memoriam sucks with out the clapping. Wish I knew the methodology for the order. It definitely wasn't alphabetical.
- Best Actor in a Drama-wish it was Kyle Chandler but finally after all these years, Jon Hamm won. Pity votes.
- I cannot stand Adrien Brody he's an ODD LOOKING DUDE
- Best Actress in a Drama- Viola Davis for How to Get Away with Murder. BUMMER!!!! Her speech was intense, way too intense.
- Any reason Mel Brooks presented Best Comedy Series?
- Best Comedy Series-Veep Anna Chlumsky was a bit out of her mind with the news, Julia Louis Dreyfus took a selfie with Mel Brooks. That was hilarious to me.
- WWTM takeaway from this years Emmy's: I guess I should watch Veep
- Tracy Morgan…we JUST saw the guy at KINGS buying groceries!!! Wish I knew he was flying to LA, I would have driven him in his Lambo to the airport!!! Tears for Tracy Morgan, I can't wait to see him at that damn deli counter!!!
- Best Drama Series-Game of Thrones. YEAH! I'm so glad Mad Men didn't win!
