The Goldbergs
I participated in in Hands Across America, of course I did! I had the T-Shirt and yes I was THAT girl I couldn't wait for it to take my place on the corner of Main and Parker. Pretty cool of Bev to bedazzle hers. Never thought of that option. I didn't remember the whole celebrity component of the whole thing, but maybe that was just a Jenkintown PA thing. Bev promised Scott Baio, but we all knew from the second it came out of her mouth that she was totally lying. All she wanted was a photo of her happy family in the newspaper but OF course that didn't happen. The kids found out she was Baio-less and refused to hold any hands with anyone. Wouldn't it have been sort of cool if Bev got the real Scott Baio? I would have enjoyed some Chachi. While Bev and the kids were plotting their hand holding, Adam was plotting the perfect plan for taking 2 girls to the Harvest Hop Dance. We all know that the whole taking 2 girls to the dance plot NEVER works. As Adam reminded us, it didn't work for Peter Brady, Alex P. Keaton or Jack Tripper. (Shout out to Dave Kim for throwing in the similarities between Peter Brady's awkward voice and Adam's) Pops, Adam and Dave Kim worked out a plan to take Emmy and Dana to the Hop but of course they found out all about it and were furious. With Murray's amazing words of wisdom, "Don't Be a Moron" Adam donned his tux, go both his girls and went to the dance. Name the song for some bonus points.

Finally a hairstyle and look that didn't accentuate Rainbow's eye and what do they do in the next scene, give her a super bun that has the totally opposite affect. She really does ruin things for me. Anyway, apparently, it's okay for Dre's Dad to date younger women but it's not okay at all for his Mom to date, let alone date a younger woman. Hilarious moment #1 Dre's Mom ordering at the drive-thru window and whenever Dre ran off screaming. I was more interested in Lionel Richie Jr.'s catfish storyline, but the payoff was of him NOT being catfished and then scaring the girl away didn't occur until the credits rolled. This is one cast where the kids are equally as enjoyable as the parents, give them more air time guys.

THE OTHER STUFF
-As promised, the James Cordon/Adele Carpool Karaoke. I had a very hard time understanding Adele when she spoke. Amazing how she can sing so beautifully and speak so differently. Pretty impressive that James can hold his own. ENJOY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nck6BZga7TQ
-Tons of good stuff from NBC today. First up...If you're a TV person, then you should know who Jim Burrows is. Okay, okay, maybe not. Jim Burrows is a major TV director who's directed so many of your favorite episodes over the years. He's directed Friends, Cheers, Taxi, Frasier, Will & Grace, Big Bang and so many more. Amazingly enough, he just directed his 1000th episode of television. NBC is going to pay tribute to him on 2/21 and so many of his casts are going to reunite. The entire Friends cast will be IN THE HOUSE for the first time to honor one of their favorite directors. I totally think he deserves it but I also think NBC was looking for something like the SNL 40th and came up with this one. I'd bet most people have no clue who Jim Burrows is, but everyone will tune in for Ross, Rachel, Joey, Chandler, Monica & Phoebe!
-2nd NBC story...first we had The Sound of Music, then we had Peter Pan and The Wiz and next December, we'll have Hairspray Live. Okay...casting ideas? How about Amber Riley as Tracy?
-3rd NBC story...Pretty a much a no-brainer...Seth Meyers is good through 2021. NBC just extended his contract for 5 more years. If I were NBC, I'd lock up the entire Meyers family and give them their own show too. They're all hilarious, especially when they're together. Have you ever seen Seth, Josh and their Dad Larry together? They all look exactly alike. I'm sure I posted this before. Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iqS8HXBbVs
-4th NBC story...Heroes: Reborn was a "limited series" unless of course it had killed ratings wise which it didn't. You know that if it had done amazing numbers we would have Heroes Reborn AGAIN come next Spring but alas. It was not to be and on January 21st Heroes Reborn will end for good.
-5th and final NBC story of the day...NBC presented some Netflix ratings estimates from a company called Symphony. According to their methodology, and they use "audio content recognition" Jessica Jones averaged 4.8 million viewers, Narcos 3.2 million viewers, Master of None 3.9 million viewers. Symphony measured programming from September through December so House of Cards and Orange is the New Black weren't airing new eps during this timeframe. Still, these are some good numbers regardless.
-I know you're reeling from the Oscar Noms, but just so you have all the facts, The Directors Guild also released their nominations yesterday. Nominated for Best Achievement in TV/Drama: Mad Men, Homeland, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones and The Knick. Best achievement in TV/Comedy: Veep, Louis, Silicon Valley, Modern Family and Transparent (Which again is NOT .
