THE SHOWS
BillionsWe got 2 pretty awesome naked butt shots this week, and a basket filled with money for Bill Stern's wife, but I have to admit something. There is a problem here. We want to see Axe and his guys in action, we want to see the deals and how they go down, we want to see the insane wealth and money. Yes, Chuck and Wendy and their dominatrix/S&M thing is somewhat interesting, but honestly, a game of cat and mouse between Chuck and his team versus Axe and his team is ALREADY boring me. Of course we knew that Axe wasn't going to take the deal. He can't take the deal or the show is over. Don't get me wrong, I was intrigued at the game they all played for the hour. Dad/Chuck, Wendy/Chuck, Wendy/Axe, Axe/Lana and of course Chuck/Axe, but if Chuck and the feds win, Billions is over, so the story needs to change somehow. I will say that even though I have my issues with Billions, it has officially won my Sunday night slot over Vinyl. The more and more I think about Vinyl the more disappointed I get. You guys seem to feel the same way. In my informal poll yesterday only 1 person was enjoying the show so far. Let's hope the rumors about Episode 4 are true or else...buh bye Vinyl.
The Good Wife
If you've never watched The Good Wife, wait until this Summer and binge the entire series. It's SO good and even though we all know it's winding down, it's writers aren't. Awesome episode Sunday night. I totally forgot that the NSA was still listening in on Alicia. Everyone wants her for something. The FBI want her, the NSA wants her and so does the President apparently. Alicia was asked to listen to top secret information to determine if an American terrorist should be added to the kill list. It was so interesting to me that this sort of thing probably happens all the time. When everyone wants something from you, what do you do to relieve the stress? Well, we've all seen Alicia hit the bottle, and even she is starting to think she has a problem, but Jason got her to just breathe and have sex with him instead, in the office no less! Pretty hot. Good for Alicia. There was lots of other stuff going on at the firm but it's all about Alicia at this point. Although...the Elsbeth/Eli thing was pretty interesting. Who knew she was divorced? Glad we got to meet the ex-husband. I'd want to know what kind of guy would marry her and now I do. He is just as bizarre as she is. I really need something juicy for Cary before the series ends. I love that guy but since Kalinda left, he's become a bit too background for me.
Jim Burrows Tribute
Okay, so yes, of course I had to watch. I needed to see the Friends cast together. After seeing Matthew Perry's taped message to Jim and his friends, maybe it was good that he didn't show up. He looked TERRIBLE. They should have made the show a live intervention, the guys a mess. I enjoyed seeing all the clips of such amazing shows like Will & Grace, Cheers, Taxi and of course Friends. There was WAY too much Jim Parsons for me. I know there are a ton of Big Bang Theory fans out there but I'm not one of them. With all the stars in the audience, Jim Parson's gets the lion's share of screen time? Come on! Andy Cohen did do a great job, but he always does. Most shows were missing someone from their cast. Kelsey Grammer was doing in a play so he wasn't there, Debra Messing wasn't live either although, no explanation for her absence. Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman both need see someone about getting their pants hemmed. What was up with the saggy suits? Come on guys you must own a perfectly tailored suit. Nice walk down memory lane honoring a talented guy who is beloved by his actors but can barely speak. Jim Burrows got up at the end to thank everyone and left us all wondering what the big deal was. This guy's beloved? Really??? Talented yes, but he's obviously a behind the camera guy who probably should have stayed there.
THE OTHER STUFF
-According to some new Tivo data, here's how the networks stack up in time-shifted programming. Not loving these numbers if you're an advertiser.
CW 78%
Bravo 69%
CBS 64%
ABC 63%
BBC America 60%
AMC 60%
FX 59%
Syfy 58%
NBC 52%
-Question for the Lip Sync Battle people. I read that there is going to be a Lip Sync Battle Jr. Of course we'll take any hit and milk it to get the most blood we can out of it. Get it, but are the kids celebrities or just regular kids? The reason Lip Sync Battle is a hit is because of the celebs. The article says that Spike and Nick are teaming up but I'm guessing the show will air on Nick. If there are no famous kids battling, not sure it will do as well. Just a thought, but I don't have all the facts.
Tuesday's Oscar Trivia Question: Which one of these movies did not win a Best Picture Oscar: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Braveheart, Unforgiven & Silence of the Lambs.
