-I'm so glad I trusted my FOMO intution...1.5 million people got a jump start and viewed the sneak peek of HBO's The Night Of. 1.3 million viewers caught the show on Sunday night in it's real time slot. So for anyone who needs help with the math, that's 2.8 million viewers and counting. I'm sure during the week this one will see a tremendous increase. Anyone watch?
THE SHOWS
Ray DonovanHow many times do you think the "F" word is used in an average Ray Donovan episode? I need to actually count next time. Ray can't even catch a break in his own house. Just when he's about to Netflix and chill, wouldn't ya know, that damn Russian mob strikes again, this time though, Abby saved the day with an amazing shot to the skull. Glad she got some practice in last season. Dead body in the kitchen just in time for breakfast. Connor didn't even notice. How many Donovan's have now killed someon? All but Connor and Bridget, no? Of course Bridgette's had dead body goo all over her, so it's not a new thing for her. It made no sense to me at all that Bridget would have sex in a Prius with her teacher right in front of her parents house. What was the point? Wasn't it super uncomfortable? There's not much room in those things. Did Ray really think he'd have success at the prison with Belikov? I'm sure he definitely didn't think he'd be saved from a golden shower by a plexiglass window. 20 points if you know the band whose songs were featured throughout the entire episode and another 10 for each song you can identify. NO CHEATING! I KNEW that Mickey would get screwed out of the $4MM bucks! I knew it. Mickey's gonna hunt that dude down and destroy him big time. Can't believe Ray let the dog in his car. That dog's awesome. Bunchy brought on labor doing Theresa from behind, can't wait for the day baby Maria hears the story of the day she was born.

3rd episode...big decision...keep or delete?
I saw Dwight Shrut from The Office show up as Bryce Newman and had high hopes.
I think he was supposed to be Bob Lefsetz but I'll wait to see what Bob says to be sure.
Anyone read the Lefsetz Letter? If you're a music buff, you should subscribe, but I don't want to you to have too much on your plate that you'd have to make a choice, so stick with WWTM, I'll let you know if Bob has anything you need to read. Anyway, I found myself uninterested in Roadies about 10 minutes in. I didn't even hesitate in making the decision, I deleted the Season Pass just like that. I'm pretty bummed that Cameron Crowe, who made Almost Famous, one of the best music movies ever, couldn't get it right after Scorsese and Jagger crashed and burned with Vinyl. Maybe they all need to start doing drugs again to get their creative juices going or something.
UnReal
Rachel went off her meds right? Was that PTSD or bipolar or both? That would be a great game show, no? PTSD or Bipolar...a bit politically incorrect but if Howard Stern did it, you know you'd be laughing. Gotta admit, it was nice to see Quinn smile a real smile and let her guard down with Booth. The question is, does she really like him, or is she using him to get one of his islands or one of his networks? I sort of liked her with Crazy Chet. I also like Rachel with Coleman but you know he's never gonna stick around. The crazy will be just TOO crazy for him at some point, probably when Adam Cromwell walks through the door. Will Rachel hate the new long hair and kick his ass out? Will she know Quinn was behind their big reunion? I'm surprised Darius hasn't walked off the show yet. Pretty convenient and amazing for our fake shows fake ratings that Beth Ann was pregnant with her ex meth-head BF;s baby, but yes, it did make for great TV. This show is off the hook insane.
THE OTHER STUFF
-We did watch the Home Run Derby last night. Congrats to Giancarlo Stanton. 61 Homeruns and so much fun to watch.
-Whoopi Goldberg signed on for another year on The View. Ride it out girl. You might as well keep on getting paid if you've got nothin better to do. Plus how many hours do you actually put in? Not many, right? I'd ride the gravy train as long as you can or until you can't take it one more minute and you need to beat the crap out of one of your tablemates.
-Last night, FOX began live-streaming it's primetime entertainment programming across the nation. They are the first of any broadcaster to do this. All shows will be available to pay tv subscribers via Fox.com and Fox Now. Shockingly it will be for FREE! (We're paying for it somewhere, trust me, we all know there's no such thing as a free lunch) As I'm sure you expected, sports will NOT be included
