-I have to give myself some major back patting…I got so much TV in last night, I honestly should teach a class in power viewing! Okay, so there was no traffic, got home on time and remembered to check out the new ROSIE show on OWN. I know, I know it’s not really primetime (and it is Rosie), but I had been a fan of her daytime show before she went nuts and needed to check this show out…it was decent. Similar to the old show…it was live, she did a bit of stand-up, questions from the audience, had Russell Brand on (who I enjoy), played a game, gave out prizes and that was it…then while the smile was still on my face, I thought, let me just check out OPRAH’S LIFE CLASS…I didn’t last long…OY VEY with OPRAH…she is out of her mind with her preachy, teachy stuff and honestly some of it, I didn’t even understand…so CLICK…right over to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER which was great as always, but best part of this week’s episode was the reference to FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS being the one show you would take with you if the world ended. Next up REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS…Lisa’s daughter is finally engaged. Lisa was so nice to everyone, so happy and then as soon as husband/Dad wants to make a speech she squashes him like a bug. Ken needs to get a set- if you know what I mean…Ashton still has his stickers on his laptop on 2 ½ MEN, so obviously it’s okay with the network to promote the internet companies he owns pieces of. Courtney Thorne Smith and Jenny McCarthy and her HUGE you know whats made appearances this week. Unfortunately Ashton kept his shirt on for the entire show. I Tivo’ed DANCING WITH THE STARS because I heard Cher was going to be cheering on Chaz…well she was and she was really proud and teary and for me, that was worth checking in on, love seeing Courtney and Coco Cox and both Arquette sisters cheering on their bro and of course an aging (but still cute) Billy Baldwin cheering on Chynna…no idea how anyone did I got through the whole show in about 6 minutes. Next up…KIM’S FANTASY WEDDING…I Tivo’ed it, so was able to fast forward through the annoying parts and watch the good stuff. Do we know what that wedding cost? The 3 dresses alone had to be insanely pricey…3 Vera Wangs? Lots of crazy diamonds, pretty over the top affair to celebrate a marriage that won’t last that long. I can’t believe Kris Humphries went through with it…I would have run for the hills big time knowing what I was getting into. So the only shows I didn’t watch that I needed to last night was HART OF DIXIE and Sunday’s PAN AM. You gotta admit that’s pretty good work, Kim’s wedding was 2 hours!
-Not going to take all the credit, but yesterday NETFLIX announced that they are abandoning the stupid idea of creating Qwikster for mail only DVD service. While the price increases are sticking around...Qwikster isn't! You knew that they wouldn't admit they were wrong on both parts of their plan. I guess it’s a small win…but I consider it a win nonetheless.
-The NBA did in fact cancel the first two weeks of the season. I must come clean. I love watching NBA Basketball, but I have no clue as to what the owners and players are arguing about. From what I hear this situation is worse than the NFL’s was, so it could be a while before we see NBA Basketball. Guess, Tenafly Rec basketball will be the only games I’ll be watching this season.
-I know that a lot of reality TV is "staged" even though I like to pretend it isn't. So of course I was upset when I heard the rumor that one of my favorite reality stars (oxymoron alert) Bethenny, lied about her trauma at sea. Apparently, when the guy that rescued her showed up...there was nothing to rescue her from. The boat was fine, the GPS was fine, the captain (her therapist) has 30 years of boating experience, so it was all just for the camera's. Bethenny said on ELLEN that she tipped the dude that rescued her 2800 bucks but he says he received no tip at all. (Plus when you think about it...who would bring 2800 bucks cash on a boat trip? Not even Mrs. Howell was that stupid) I don’t pretend to be a real journalist, but I did check Bethenny’s Facebook page to see if she had anything to say regarding the allegations and she claimed that these accusations are ridiculous…honestly I don’t know what to believe, but felt the need to share anyway.
-The new Facebook for IPAD App launched yesterday…I like it…I had been using Friendly and the old Facebook App, but this one is a nice improvement.
-I know I have been really pushing you people to check out the X FACTOR, I am sure you would if we had this guy from the Australian version of the show...get out your tissue box and check out this entire clip (I know it's long, but trust me...it's worth it)
