-I watched a record breaking amount of TV last night and this morning, so I will try to keep it short and sweet but it may not be that easy. Where to begin…
-!ROB! Premiered last night and it was exactly what you would think it would be…no surprises at all. Rob marries a Latin American girl who is taller than him so…short jokes and all the stereo typical jokes that everyone on the laugh track found SO funny about Hispanics, and if that wasn’t formulaic enough…Rob gets into all sorts of “zany” trouble like spilling holy candles on his private parts so that he has to take off his pants in the room of his new wife’s, non English speaking grandmother…and it gets more ridiculous from there. WORK IT is still on the air after 2 weeks, so no idea how long CBS will keep this one on…OY VEY please put us out of our misery fast CBS!
-PARKS & REC was perfect as always, but this week add a 3 legged dog named Champion and Gloria Estefan’s “GET ON YOUR FEET” as the theme song for Leslie Knope’s campaign as she herself is trying to take the podium at an ice rink and you have a classic episode in my opinion. This show can do no wrong (I am wearing my Pawnee T-shirt as I type this by the way) Oh and Rob Lowe’s hair ranking…8! Really good week for it…maybe he has some new product or something.
-Checked in on KELLY for 15 minutes…Jesse Palmer, formerly from THE BACHELOR and currently on ESPN, was her co-host and honestly…he was pretty good, but sort of goofy, and he had these crazy enormous hands. He could have taken Kelly’s body and snapped her in half…it was weird and he even held them in his lap weird. He did the thing where you touch both of your thumbs together and both of your index fingers together to create a triangle…not a good diversion to take my eye away from the . Oh and for a big handed manly man…once he said “Quick Pick” he lost all credibility…but…even with the CEH’s…he could be a contender.
-On Wednesday nights WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE, Andy Cohen had Rosie O’Donnell on. I have always been a fan, and say what you want about her, she is a great guest. She has been amazing on Howard Stern, but she was brilliant on Andy’s show. 2 interesting stories…the only famous person she dated was singer, Sophie B. Hawkins, and she and her kids were invited by P.Diddy himself to his New Years Eve party this year and when they showed up, she wasn’t on the list, so to the embarrassment of her kids…she left. Best part of the show…Andy and Rosie competed in a contest called “My Gayvorite Things” It was really funny…and it was hosted by a great game show host…Marc Summers from DOUBLE DARE.
-Thank you CW! Damon in the shower and then in a towel…that’s the way to start THE VAMPIRE DIARIES every week if you ask me. Lots happened last night…Dr. Fell could be a psychotic non-supernatural, plain old fashioned serial killer…just what Mystic Falls needs. Evil Stefan is still crazy evil and screwing with the also super evil Klaus, but last night it seemed that Stefan was “the better villain”. Tyler finally declares his love for Caroline and then bites her. For those who don’t know…a werewolf bit can kill a vampire…not good for Caroline but…then Klaus comes to save the day with his hybrid blood…Happy Birthday Caroline…you get to live! Unfortunately as much as I thought that Bonnie would tell Jeremy that he was compelled to leave town…no go…he’s gone. Hopefully the Twitterverse will go nuts and bring Jer back…he was just getting interesting. The guy they should have gotten rid of was “poor Matt” what is that guy gonna do in Mystic Falls?
-Another Thank you to ABC for the shirtless Daniel on REVENGE, but that is just the beginning. We are back to the big red X’s this week as Amanda/Emily burns down the writers house who made a deal with the Grayson’s to screw her Dad but just when you think the show is going to end with the house going down in flames…SPOILER ALERT: Amanda/Emily just so happens to own an old school VHS player that you can hook up to your computer and starts to watch the tiny VHS tapes she stole from the writers house before she torched it…holy cow…Charlotte Grayson is her half sister! Thank goodness Daniel isn’t her half brother or we would be into some really wrong territory. Hope you guys all watch this show…it’s just SO good.
-LAST MAN STANDING officially received word for two more episodes which gives them a full season…so looks like that one will be back next year. The show averages 10.6 million viewers…so it’s a keeper.
-Also given the green light for another season…HOT IN CLEVELAND. How old is Betty White turning? 90???
-Some dates for all of you Showtime fans…NURSE JACKIE, THE BIG C and THE BORGIA’s all return on April 8th.
-PORTLANDIA on IFC had a pretty decent premiere episode…up 39% versus last year with 500K viewers…I remember checking this show out last year and not “getting it” but maybe I need to go back and take a second look…do you guys watch it?
-You know my 12 year old sense of humor just loves the title of the new musical chairs game show the CW just ordered…OH SIT! Really need to watch the typos on that one, but I know we will all have a lot of fun with it if it doesn’t get cancelled.
-PC shipments had their second-worst year ever in 2011, dropping 5% (75 to 71.3 million) in 2011. Of course the reverse is the case for Apple, as they saw an 18% jump in Mac sales in 4Q 2011 year-over-year
- Just because I work at Verizon doesn’t mean I get any special treatment…I still don’t get FiOS in my town, so this cool news doesn’t help me at all, but it is still pretty cool nonetheless…Verizon will stream over 10,000 video-on-demand titles, as well as 26 live HDTV channels to owners of LG Electronics' connected TVs and Blu-ray players. Among the live HD channels to be offered as part of this agreement include Nickelodeon, HBO, Cinemax, MTV, TNT, TBS and more. The VOD content will be available through the company's Flex View TV Everywhere platform. The streaming service will be delivered via the Verizon FiOS TV app for LG connected devices and will not require a set-top box. The service is expected to be launched in the first half of 2012. As an interesting side note, LG's connected TVs are compatible with the company's Magic Remote, which offers a gesture-, text-, point-and-click-, and in some cases, voice-based browsing experience. One of these days…
WWTM Weekend Movie Rental Suggestion: JOHN TUCKER MUST DIE starring Jessie Metcalf, Brittany Snow, Ashanti, and Brooke Davis herself…Sophia Bush…here is the description from IMDB: New girl is school Kate catches John Tucker dating 3 different girls at the same time, tells them and then all of them plot to get him back…it’s a really good movie…no matter when it’s on…I always watch it.
-Friday’s Trivia Question: On Last night’s episode of THE OFFICE the crew goes to Oscar’s favorite gay bar for a trivia contest (which we love right?) Which team got the Einstein question wrong but won the contest? Just to be clear I am looking for the name of the team.
