-Last night was all about the GOLDEN GLOBES for me…luckily the Giant game ended exactly in time for the show to start and of course I was watching the Red Carpet coverage on my Ipad so I could see all of the dresses. I still haven’t determined who looked especially gorgeous, but, here are my random thoughts on the show:
· Not enough Ricky
· Madonna’s arms are disturbing, but Madonna was awesome…next year, maybe she should host
· Best line of the night (in my opinion) Seth Rogan’s when he walked out with the stunning Kate Beckinsale and said “Hello, I’m Seth Rogan, and I am currently trying to conceal a massive erection” CLASSIC
· Angelina needs to eat and watch AMERICAN IDOL as I don’t think she has a clue who Ryan Seacrest is
· Martin Henderson is a Little Person who was the victim of a Dwarf Tossing incident
· Many American celebrities seem to now have some sort of hybrid type of Euro accent
· Super slow talking is now a trend???
· Matt LeBlanc won for playing himself in a mediocre show…we can’t really take that too seriously…he did also get nominated for his role in JOEY and I am not positive but I don’t think he was ever nominated for playing Joey on FRIENDS…but I would need to check on that one
· How in the world are Peter Dinklage and Eric Stonestreet in the same category? (But SO happy Peter Dinklage won and I learned that he is from NJ!)
· Yeah for HOMELAND and Claire Danes but how does Damien Lewis NOT win and Kelsey Grammar does?
· Jessica Lange must have driven to the awards in a convertible…what was up with that hair?
· Totally loved Ricky Gervais’s dis to Kim Kardashian in the opening Monologue
· Best Hair award is a tie between Ashton’s new do and Rob Lowe’s
· Was Rob Lowe THAT tan or was Julianne Moore just sooooo pearly white?
· Why have you guys never corrected me on DOWNTON ABBEY…I have been typing/saying DOWNTOWN ABBEY
· Diane Lane is still so beautiful
· Jimmy Fallon rules and needs to come sleep over my house
· Tim Robbins was looking pretty good
· Michelle Williams too
· Jessica Biel’s dress was hideous and where was her engagement ring?
· I love Meryl Streep…she can do no wrong, so don’t even go there.
· What is up with Tilda Swinton?
· Even with all of the accolades, still don’t know if I could sit through THE ARTIST
· Is there anyone cooler than George Clooney? Don’t think so
-If you were like me this weekend…you watched a lot of football! How insane was the 49ers/Saints game? Truly one of the most amazing games I have seen in years. The Patriots/Broncos game…OY VEY…Tebowtime is O…V…E…R…Gotta be honest…I didn’t watch the Baltimore/Texas game as I was busy having a bit of a life but of course Giants/Packers yesterday was awesome. Funny…Jets fans will usually root for the Giants, but Giants fans wouldn’t be caught dead rooting for the Jets…just another annoying nuance of being a Jet fan I guess…
-As I predicted…WORK IT on ABC has been cancelled after 2 episodes…again…how in the world this show was given valuable network TV time is beyond me…but I am definitely not always right about these things…!ROB! which is just as bad and even more offensive in some ways, did huge numbers on Thursday with a 4.1 and 13.4 million viewers. Are people really that lazy that they just didn’t change the channel after THE BIG BANG THEORY? Or…maybe they were like me and just wanted to check it out to see if it was as bad as they thought it would be…I guess this Thursday will be the true test…
-On Friday’s LIVE WITH KELLY, Apollo Anton Ono, the speed skater, was the co-host, and he was surprisingly…really good! Kelly was totally into him and he was really funny and seriously…he could definitely bag the speed skating thing for co-host chair…Gelman…hope you added him to the short list.
-30 ROCK…Liz Lemon has a boyfriend but his face hasn’t been revealed yet…from what I am reading it’s James Mardsen who is super cute…I loved him in 27 DRESSES
-I know I have posted a few charts and facts about texting lately…This one is actually another good one…again the surprising thing for me here is that the number of texts has gone down from 2010 to 2011 among 13-17 year olds but has gone up with the older generations…especially the 55+ demo…it is up 33% versus last year.
-For all of the GAME OF THRONES fans out there, you will be happy to know that the season 2 premiere is just 76 days away… the official date is 4/1! Can’t wait!
Monday’s Trivia Question: While there was tons of great football all weekend and of course the GLOBES, but there was also a MISS AMERICA PAGEANT that I purposely missed …who won?
