-Everyone is sinking their teeth into Shark Week!  The numbers are the best ever across
the board.  Highest in the history of the franchise.  What is it about sharks that draws
people in?  Why the interest?  Each year Shark Week gets bigger and bigger, remember
the days of shark minutes & shark days?  Will there be a Shark Month?  I wonder if the
sharks know how famous they are yet?  Are there Shark agents at CAA?

- It seems the car is a popular place for Smartphone users to watch video on apps from
YouTube, Hulu, iTunes and the like, according to a new study. There's good news for
multichannel video providers as well...the study also found that video apps aren't
cannibalizing traditional TV. About 85% of video app users are still watching the same
or more regularly scheduled TV. Apps may actually enhance the TV experience; about
half of video app users say they are more engaged with a show after accessing the
video app, while 35% have said video app usage has led them to visit the network of
program Web site. For the most part, video app users are watching in the hom, about
three-quarters access the video alternatives at the house, among other places. But half
also say they watch while  in the auto.  I need to chime in here...so far, I have never
accessed any of my video apps in the car and definitely not while driving.  I do however
use them as a companion to a program I may already be watching when I am in my
house.

-I thought I was Oprah'ed out...done, but this morning I read that she is receiving an
Oscar...the honorary Hersholt award.  WHY?  Other than THE COLOR PURPLE, what
has she done for movies?  Apparently the Hersholt is a Humanitarian award for
philanthropy...so I guess she does qualify, but I thought the idea was for her to
RETIRE??? I know she has to go back to work to get her network to generate some
ratings, but now here she is back on the front page of my IPAD this AM...

-A while ago, I reported that the premise for 2 1/2 MEN was that Charlie Sheen's
character would be killed off, the house would be sold to Ashton Kutscher and he would
feel bad that Alan and the kid had no place to live and let them stay and live with him.
(Alan is a chiropractor, he should have some money for a house or maybe a cheap
apartment on Sunset???) Well apparently this is in fact correct.  So already, the
premise sounds ridiculous.  I did read though that the premiere episode will feature a
funeral for Charlie attended by many of his various girlfriends which if done well, could
be funny...we shall see what Chuck Lorre has in store.  I guess if Chuck couldn't "take
care" of Charlie in real life, he can most certainly kill him off on screen. I am sure he
enjoyed that part of the process.

-I didn't watch anything at all last night.  I actually did something else...don't be
shocked...I READ!  I know, I know bizarre right?  I was hoping to watch the Yankee
game and FLIPPING OUT too, but I fell asleep...reading does that to me.

-Wednesday's Trivia Question: What 70's sitcom did the term "Jump the Shark"
originate from?

-SHARK FACT: With all those teeth that sharks have, they don't chew their food...they
rip off chunks of  meat and swallow them whole.

WWTM (well maybe not last night)-Kristy
