-Yesterday was such an emotional day all around. I really tried not to get sucked in
and watch too much 9/11 coverage, but I just had to...6 minutes in, the tears were
streaming and I think it was off and on all day. No matter how many years pass, we all
remember where we were, how scared we were and how are lives were never the same
again. When I didn't know how to get out of the 9/11 depression...FOOTBALL! I felt
like we all needed it, just like we needed it back in 2001. First and foremost, I have to
give credit to those advertisers that produced some amazing 9/11 spots. Not just ours
(which was awesome) but Budweiser, State Farm & Southwest all did a great job. I
think what surprised me about the day was the number of advertisers that didn't run a
9/11 unit went with a business as usual message. (Mixed feelings on that one) Anyway,
so glad to have the NFL back in full force. I love the Fall!
-Last night was the perfect example of how hard it is to be a JET fan. They did pull out
a win, but what a nail biting, stressful, heart wrenching win it was. I don't know if
they study Jet fans at all, but I would bet that most of us have severe
heart/stress/blood pressure issues on game days. Love you Jets, but man you make it
exhausting to watch and with the schedule this year, these late games are killers. It
was hard to go to sleep last night when the game was over. I think I got maybe 5
hours in???
-Adding to the pressure of the game, I was using my mad Tivo skills to watch the Jets,
and the CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and ENTOURAGE finales. CURB, was funny...I gotta
give Michael J. Fox a shout out for being able to poke fun at himself and Parkinson's
Disease in general. I feel like "Pissed or Parkinson's" could go a long way. The
swastika thing was a teetering a bit on that line, but again, Larry has a way of pushing
almost over the line (well we know he has gone over it in the past) and making us
laugh at the same time. Great season Larry...please come back again next Summer,
and if you decide not to, Leon needs his own show.
-I am guessing many of you didn't watch ENTOURAGE yet due to football, and not
having mastered the Carruba Tivo method of watching numerous shows at the same
time, so I don't want to give too much away about the finale. This is what I will say. I
didn't like it, until the 3 1/2 minutes AFTER the credits. Also...how much does Ari's
wife (now officially known by her name...Melissa) weigh? The bathing suit she wore
left nothing at all to the imagination and the very odd white dress she wore looked like
she was just bones in a bridal gown or something. EAT Melissa...EAT!
-You know how I love a good list, and with the ENTOURAGE series finale now out there
and ready for criticism, Here are the 10 best series finales ever according to
Entertainment Weekly:
10. THE SOPRANO'S
9. BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
8. THE SHIELD
7. LOST
6. MASH
5. CHEERS
4. THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW
3. THE FUGITIVE
2. ST. ELSEWHERE
I wish my memory was strong enough to remember if these were really great or not (I
know I didn't love the LOST finale) or if there were other series finales that were
better. Let me know if you think of any that are better than what's here.

-EVERYTHING FACEBOOK SECTION: You know I love Facebook, so here is the fact of
the day:
You will be able to group Facebook friends into "Smart Lists." As of now, Facebook is
auto-grouping your friends and acquaintances into three groups: people you work with,
people you attended school with, and people who live within 50 miles of you. I NEED
this feature. If they would have a family feature, I may let my Mom join, but until then,
she knows she is not allowed anywhere near it.
-Facebook has managed to double its income since last year in just the first half of
2011 to $1.6 billion. Part of the social network’s success comes from earning an
estimated $500 million last year from the sale of Facebook Credits. These credits are
used to purchase virtual goods from the slew of games being played every day and
Facebook is raking in 30% of every sale. This means that people have spent 500
million dollars on FAKE stuff...nothing to show for it at all...can you imagine? Isn't
there a fiscal crisis right now?
-I have no problem admitting when I am wrong...CONTAGION was the number one
movie at the box office. It made 23.1 million. Granted it was the lowest grossing
weekend of the year at the box office, but still, I can't believe that movie won for the
week. I would NEVER see that movie. Well the good news is that I am going to
assume a lot more people are washing their hands more now.
-When I read this, I got so excited and told my husband we have to get this (even
though I am really trying to diet)...Ben & Jerry's is introducing a new ice cream flavor
inspired by the Saturday Night Live Pete's "Schweddy Balls" skit starring Alec Baldwin.
For a good laugh, check it out here.

balls
The new ice cream flavor will be released Sept. 24, just in time for Baldwin to guest
host the iconic show again.
-Regis hasn't decided what he's going to do after his last day on 11/18 and I personally
think the guy needs to take some time off and chill. He is 81 years old, but in talks for
a reality show which I have to say...I would watch. If any 80 year old could pull it off,
Regis could. I am rooting for him...whatever he decides, I am sure it is going to be
interesting, but nobody would freak out if he just laid around and relaxed for a change
with his wife Joy...well...maybe Joy would.
-Monday's Trivia Question: Tonight is the MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT...name one or
both of the hosts.
