-For some reason, I watched 2 episodes of 2 BROKE GIRLS last night.  My 10 year old thought the show was hilarious and was really…laughing…out loud!  I just don’t get it…the joke gets old really fast…they are poor…okay…but now what?  Apparently nobody cares that the joke gets old, as the show does amazing ratings…leads the night most weeks which I really don’t understand.  The girls are okay but they aren’t THAT gorgeous or THAT funny.  Why does everyone love this show so much?   If that wasn’t enough, an extremely bizarre and ridiculous episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN followed.  Chuck Lorre must be on some serious medication or, maybe he just wants to see how stupid the American public really is…I mean, yeah I love Ashton Kutscher and yeah, you can always make me happy and keep me watching when you have him without a shirt on, but seriously…hugging and playing with a gorilla?  Is this what it has come to Chuck?  Just because it’s Ashton, you think you can “phone it in” or are you “punking” us all?  Lame Chuck…really lame!

-REAL HOUSEWIVES highlights for me…more pizza eating with a fork, these mega wealthy women drink the same Pinot Grigio I do??? Santa Margherita…it’s only 15 bucks a bottle, I thought for sure they’d be drinking some better stuff than me! Paul and Adrienne’s bickering is starting to not annoy me…I think that’s just the way they talk.  I was reminded that they had 3 kids, but we never see any of them, I guess in that million square foot house they could get lost pretty easily I bet they don’t even know they are missing yet.  “Pandy” trying on the biggest, poofiest wedding dresses made even Jiggy the dog miserable, but of course it made Lisa teary, although tears never actually descend from her eyes…maybe that too is a Beverly Hills thing like fake kissing and eating pizza with a fork.  Not sure why Adrienne invited all of the girls to Vegas on the same weekend as Pandy’s bachelorette party…oooo maybe it’s in hopes that drama would follow??? Of course!  The show is still ultra enjoyable but maybe I was just pushed too far after seeing Ashton and the gorilla.

-Taye Diggs was Kelly’s co-host yesterday.  He did pretty well, but I didn’t see any chemistry between the two of them at all.  He was funny, and comfortable and really wears his clothes well, but something was missing.  Sorry Taye…

-3rd quarter cable subscription numbers are in and while in general, the cable providers still continued to lose subs, the story wasn’t as bad as 2nd quarter.  AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS and Direct TV all saw increases which put overall numbers in the black. Silver lining there somewhere right?

-Lisa Rinna and her famously large lips are heading back to daytime where it all started…Lisa will be returning to her role as Billie Reed on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.  I love Lisa, but was never a DAYS viewer…always an ABC Soaps person, but gave them all up in 1988.  Good Luck Lisa, hope you can help the ratings…these days the soaps need all the help they can get.

-Back in my old life, this story would have been a really big deal, and since so many of my readers are friends from my old life…this one is for you!  CBC Television Stations, a unit of CBS Corporation made a deal to purchase the independent television station in New York, WLNY-TV.  The terms of the agreement with the seller, WLNY Holdings, Inc. was not available.  This purchase of WLNY-TV in addition to WCBS-TV will give CBS a duopoly in the nationals #1 media market.
-Tonight, ironic programming on NBC…first,  William and Kate: Inside the Royal Marriage and then, The Biggest Loser.  Funny when you read it that way right?

-Yesterday I published the AFI’s list of the Top 10 TV Shows, today their Top 10 Movies of 2011:
Bridesmaids (REALLY??? I hated that movie)
The Decendants
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Help (Awesome flick and even better book)
Hugo
Edgar
Midnight in Paris (Saw it…it was okay)
Moneyball (My favorite movie of the year)
Tree of Life
Warhorse
-Adults spend more time with TV and Video than any other media each day.  Makes sense right?
TV & Video-4 hours and 34 minutes per day
Other-48 minutes (what would “other” be…maybe gaming???)
Internet-2 hours and 47 minutes
Radio-1 hour and 34 minutes
Mobile-1 hour and 5 minutes
Newspapers-26 minutes
Magazines-18 minutes

Tuesday’s Trivia Question: Mimi Rogers made a guest appearance on last night’s TWO AND A HALF MEN as Walden’s mother Robin…While Mimi has appeared in many movies and TV shows, I think she is still best known as this mega movie stars first wife…name the movie star.
