-I hope I don’t offend anyone by my comments here…but here goes…I love SURVIVOR..LOVE…always have and still do, but when did God join the cast?  And…if God is not playing, that puts a whole new spin on things…God seemed to be very busy in last night’s episode and in my opinion, God himself/herself had a bit of a moral dilemma as apparently God told Brandon to do the STUPIDEST THING EVER in giving up the immunity necklace and told Coach to do the smartest thing ever and send Brandon to Redemption Island (ahhh now I understand the name better…) to face Ozzy.  I guess it is ultimately true…God does work in mysterious ways. I can’t wait to hear Jeff Probst’s spin on this on Sunday night.

-God also showed up in another way over on the X FACTOR in that my favorite contestant, Josh Krajick performed one of my all time favorite songs…Halleluyah.  I have a collection of this song on my Ipod and I will be adding this one to it.  Josh kicked ass with his rendition of the song and I really am hoping he wins.  Melanie Amaro was amazing last night too…I will not take anything away from her incredible voice, but she sounds like Celine, Mariah and Whitney…nothing to different for me with her.  Josh is more my guy and I really do hope he wins the whole thing.  While I do like Marcus and Chris, I just don’t think their voices are strong enough to win.  My guess is that Marcus or Chris get sent home tonight…most likely Marcus.

-Have you guys seen the Jon Bon Jovi Advil commercial?  I saw it for the first time last night and actually backed up to watch it twice.  I was shocked to see JBJ in a commercial, but honestly, he is a bit older than me though, (he turns 50 in March) and I guess he pops Advil as much or maybe even more than I do.  I LOVE JBJ, don’t get me wrong…love him as a musician, but he really doesn’t have the greatest personality and even in this commercial his lack of it comes through…still…I did watch this 3x now…thoughts?

Check it out:

-I haven’t watched the BARBARA WALTERS 10 MOST FACINATING PEOPLE special yet.  I was actually thinking of boycotting it because the Kardashians were on the list, but I do think that she did get the number one person correct…SPOILER ALERT: Steve Jobs.  Not sure if she asked (or even knew) about the Derek Jeter “don’t let the door hit you on your way out but have an awesome DJ Gift Basket” rumors in her interview with him…I bet she is pissed off that she didn’t get that scoop in time!  Other “fascinating” peeps…Donald Trump, Pippa Middleton, Simon Cowell, Katy Perry, Hermann Cain (was that before or after he stepped down?) and Cameron and Mitchell from MODERN FAMILY.

-According to some new research, we are watching more TV than ever before…well I can vouch for that!
In 2011, the average viewer watched a total of 34.1 hours a week vs. 33.9 hours a week in 2010.  So despite what everyone is saying about all the different screens we are consuming video content on…we are all watching lots of TV…Live viewing has remained pretty consistent year over year, but Time Shifted Viewing has increased from 2.2 hours per week to 2.5 hours per week.  Broadcast networks continue to lose share but cable has gained more share than what the big 4 nets have lost.  In 2010 the 4 broadcast nets viewing was 7.9 hours per week and decreased a bit in 2011 to  7.8 hours per week, but the cable nets went from 16.6 viewing hours per week in 2010 to 17 hours per week. DVR penetration numbers still shock me…I cannot believe that only 42.7% of US households have a DVR…while it has increased significantly…I don’t know how anyone lives without one.  I couldn’t.

Thursday’s Trivia Question- The other day when we were talking about Mimi Rogers being Tom Cruise’s first wife, it reminded me of a show that was on in the early 90’s where Bruce Springsteen’s first wife made her debut.  Name the show.  More on this one tomorrow…I loved this show at the time…can’t believe I had forgotten all about it until the other day.  Bonus if you remember her name on the show.
