-Slim pickings last night for me…First I checked out the first 15 minutes of LIVE WITH KELLY and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that her super cute husband, Mark Consuelos was her co-host and will be all week. Sort of disappointed with his short military style haircut, but I believe it’s for a role he is playing on Broadway. They are great together on the show, wouldn’t mind if he got the gig, but I am hearing and reading all sorts of rumors on her as yet unnamed co-host. Who would you want it to be? (Not that any of you care or watch the show, but I of course am now watching and judging everyday)
-Next up for me was REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS. Of course, another amazing party being thrown at one of our housewives homes…this time it was Kyle’s White Party. Must be nice to have a backyard big enough to host a party for your closest 300 friends. I wouldn’t think her neighbors were too thrilled with the cars and valet parking situation, but that’s how you roll in 90210 right? Kim showed up to this party, definitely on some sort of mind altering substance and even Brandi could figure that out even though she couldn’t figure out how to keep most of her dress on. Very strange situation as Kyle could not let Taylor and her now deceased husband, Russell, into the party. Apparently the women were concerned about the lawsuit Russell was threatening Camille and perhaps all of them with if they didn’t stop “lying” about Taylor’s abuse. What I loved was how Kyle and Mauricio basically kicked them out of the party, but accepted the beautiful bottle of Vodka they were walking in with anyway. The White Party continues next week and I am guessing that through her tears, Kyle will find a way to have a great time anyway as all of our classy Beverly Hills women do.
-GLEE stars Lea Michelle (side note, Lea is from my town…Tenafly NJ) and Chris Colfer were Andy’s guest in the clubhouse last night on WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE. They are huge Housewives fans and were really pretty funny on the show.
According to Tivo, the Top 5 DVR’ed moments of 2011 were:
· Ben Roethlisbergers incomplete pass to Mike Wallace during the Superbowl
· The eulogy for Charlie Sheen’s character on TWO AND A HALF MEN during the September season premiere
· Best Picture Oscar for THE KINGS SPEECH
· MODERN FAMILY’s “After the Fire: episode
· MODERN FAMILY’s “Hit and Run” episode
-I have becoming obsessed with Jimmy Fallon, just really into all things Jimmy…if you haven’t seen his impression of Ozzy Osbourne, check out this clip of Jimmy and Jim Breuer in this dueling Ozzy bit from SiriusXM.
- The season finale of HOMELAND drew 1.71 million viewers at 10 p.m. and 2.03 million viewers for the night, the highest-rated finale for a freshman series in SHOWTIME history. Hope you guys all saw it by now…it was so good, so intense and now I can’t wait for the next season! I was drenched in sweat during that one part…I don’t want to give anything away for those of you that haven’t seen it yet.
-The New England Patriots 41-23 win over the Denver Broncos, delivered a 19.5 household rating, up 16% from last year’s 16.8 Jets/Patriots game making it the highest rated NFL game in 2011 so far on any network.
-I know this has nothing at all to do with TV, but I can’t stop listening to and watching the Foofighters song WALK. If you haven’t heard it or seen it, check it out here:
- AT&T announced that it will be dropping its $39 billion bid to acquire T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom. The proposed merger, which was announced in March 2011, faced opposition from the FCC and the DOJ, both stating that such a deal would hurt competition. As per a previous agreement, AT&T will now have to pay Deutsche Telekom $4 billion ($3 billion in cash and $1 billion in spectrum access) for the deal falling through. That’s a lot of money to have to pay for something you can’t have!
-Chaz and Jen have called it quits…is anyone surprised? Jen was a nutjob and in my opinion too much for Chaz to even deal with. Sure Chaz has issues…LOTS OF THEM, but Jen had even more issues to deal with. I had a feeling after I watched the last special, BEING CHAZ, that they would be apart by New Years…it’s always the kiss of death when you propose on a reality show…hope Chaz got the ring back! I am sure there is a girl/guy out there just for you Chaz…as my grandma used to say…a lid for every pot!
- FINALLY I will be able to watch GAME OF THRONES!…Cablevision is giving all of us a bit of a Christmas/Hanukah (tonight’s the first night people!) gift. They finally reached a deal with HBO to offer its iO TV customers (uh…that would be ME!) access to HBO GO and MAX GO. Have to admit I was cursing them out a few times even last night when there was nothing on and I was dying to start watching GAME OF THRONES, so this is great news!
Tuesday’s Trivia Question: Claire Danes currently of HOMELAND, starred in the teen high school drama MY SO CALLED LIFE in 1994…name her character.
