-I always breathe a sigh of relief when I read the nominees and I actually know the
artist and the song. As I get older, I try my best to listen to everything and check out
new bands and new songs etc, but I have to admit, some of it just does nothing for
me...so while there are a bunch I don't know, I am happy to report this morning that I
can watch the VMA's this year and know most of the songs and most of the artists...but
I must come clean, I don't know any of this year's new artists. I better get busy over
vacation.
-Did you guys here me screaming at the TV last night? ...I am so annoyed with Jeff and
Jordan, my favorite team on BIG BROTHER. SPOILER ALERT: They had the chance to
get rid of THE MOST ANNOYING COUPLE EVER, Rachel & Brendan, and they knew it
would be a big bold move and all of us in TV land would love them even more for doing
it and getting rid of the couple from hell and they DIDN'T DO IT...I was Sooo incredibly
frustrated with them that I think everyone in my friends building could hear me yelling
(I watched with a friend in the city last night...fun). So if they don't win this season,
this move will be the move that they will kick themselves about.
-2nd to last episode of GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS was just truly riveting
television. This family is in trouble, all of them are trying to figure out how to deal
with their family in crisis and the camera's are part of the conversation. I got home
late last night and just couldn't turn the show off before it was over. Truly compelling
TV that most of us can actually benefit by witnessing. The scenes for the finale next
week have Gene proposing, but unless something drastically changes, not sure if
Shannon is going to say yes. Crazy good, crazy uncomfortable, but as they put it...this
is a reality show and this was REALLY happening...good for SOMEONE to be
authentic...
-MILLION DOLLAR DECORATORS, the decorating show that is not at all about
decorating and one of the most interesting, eccentric, eloquent, well dressed, casts on
TV ended its season on a good note. I lost track of the dahhhhhhhlings after 22 this
week. I could truly listen to Martin Lawrence Bullard read me the phonebook 24 hours
a day...his voice just puts me in a trance. I ended up really enjoying this show...not
sure if they renewed it for next season...hope so.
-Last night was the premiere of AWKWARD on MTV. Gotta admit...I enjoyed it. It
started off a little slow, but picked up quickly. It was driving me nuts as to where I
knew the lead actress from, when I realized she was the homeless girl that Brooke ends
up taking in on ONE TREE HILL...at least I am pretty sure that's where she is from...if
you watched, let me know if I am right...I think I am though.
-SOUTH PARK fans should be relieved to know that the show was renewed for 2 more
seasons...I don't watch any animation anymore, so this happy news has absolutely no
bearing on me whatsoever.
-I read about a new show on Discovery airing this fall, called WEED WARS. Wish I could
set the DVR right now for this one...Reality show about a legal medical marijuana clinic,
the growers and team that runs it. Sounds like a winner!
