THE SHOWS

Homeland Season Finale
No Pakistan, no soldiers, no guns, nothing that crazy or intense except...that kiss. We've all been waiting for Carrie and Quinn to finally hook up. Who'd have thought Quinn would want so much? Quit the CIA, stay home with hideous baby Frannie, do some gardening and invite the neighbors for burgers and beer? No way would that work for either one of them. They'd be like Brad and Angelina in Mr & Mrs. Smith. Carrie's Mom showed up for her Dad's funeral and Carrie ran her out of town. Saul, Quinn and Lockhart also paid their respects. (That was before the intense Carrie/Quinn hook up). After telling her sister she'd be sticking around, she bagged Frannie and drove to her Mom's place in Missouri for some answers. Guess what...she has a 15 year old half-brother named Tim and her Mom cheated on her Dad a million times. This apparently gave Carrie some new perspective. She needed to get in touch with Quinn, but, he was gone. Hopped a plane and went dark. When she couldn't
find him, she showed up at Dar Adal's house and went a little crazy which wasn't a good idea since Saul was there and had made a deal with Dar. So next season, my guess is that Carrie goes looking for Quinn and Saul's the new CIA director. Didn't love the finale but amazing season overall.

Real World: Where Are They Now
WHAT A GYP! (Or is it Jip?) Only Norman, Julie and Heather B showed up to the loft. Heather B looks and sounds exactly the same. She currently has a radio show with Sway (also from MTV) on SiriusXM. Norm's all gray, a bit heavier and invented some travel desk thing and has 30 stores which is unbelievable to me. Some guy sent Julie baked goods, she married him and is a stay at home Mom to a 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter. She looks the same just a bit older. The loft doesn't look anything like it did when the gang lived there. Winston Churchill's granddaughter lives there now. Andre, Kevin and Becky didn't show up and the update we got on them told us nothing. Eric's agent or manager, cut a good deal with the Oprah people, he got an entirely separate segment to show how insane he really is. He lives in Hawaii, is bald, married and delivered his 10 week old son at home with no supervision. He and his wife call themselves "Master Light Warriors" and use a machine to help people with their health problems.  That's all we got. Sure it was nice to see 4 of the 7, but I would have liked to see ALL of them. Reunion shmoomion. BOGUS OPRAH!

THE OTHER STUFF

-I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this but I have a bit of a side obsession with Saturday Night Live. Unfortunately, I DO remember when it first started 40 years ago. My babysitters watched it and let us stay up late to watch it too. (As long as we didn't tell my Mom). I've read most of the books about the show and love hearing about cast members experiences. I watched James Franco's documentary about the show over the weekend and really enjoyed it. James had full access behind the scenes for an entire week. The doc starts when the writers and cast meet the host on Monday, in this case it was John Malkovich, and it ends with the live show. It's free on Hulu. If you have time (It's about an hour and a half) check it out: http://www.hulu.com/watch/691709 All I kept thinking was...how in the could someone be a  MOM or a DAD and have a job on SNL? The schedule is NUTS.

-I might just have to start watching The Amazing Race again. Of all the couples that will be racing next season, 5 of them...are on BLIND DATES! The other teams are all made up of couples that have been dating as well, but 5 have JUST met.  That's nuts.

-Hulu got another win. The exclusive rights for Fargo. A show I didn't enjoy but everyone else did. There were quite a few of those this year weren't there? I need to try and put a list of those together.

-This will be my last post until Monday, January 5th. I'm taking some time off. Not from watching…just from writing. If I have something I need to get off my chest, I'll probably post it to the Watching Way Too Much Facebook page which I strongly suggest you check out. The blog is posted early each day there so you can get a jump on trivia and ya never know when I have something interesting to share. Thank you all for your loyalty, engagement,  information, and feedback. This blog is part of my job,  but it's also a labor of love and I enjoy every minute. Have a great holiday. If you need some bingeing ideas…let me know.

Monday's Trivia Question: On the show Designing Women, which of the designers were sisters?
