THE SHOWS
Chrisley Knows Best
I have the best job in the world. I get to talk and write about TV all day. Sometimes I get to meet the people I write about and that's what happened yesterday. I actually had lunch with Todd Chrisley. Todd's the real deal. He's actually better in person than he is on his show, if you can believe that. He's funnier, sweeter, and smarter than you'd think. I could listen to him speak for hours. His stories are honest and engaging. He had everyone at the table under his spell. Nobody was checking their phones, or getting up to go to the bathroom while he had the floor. I learned a lot about the Chrisley's. I learned that Todd met Julie while making a bank deposit. Julie's father is a preacher. The Chrisley kids have NEVER slept in any other home other than their own. They've also never had anyone other than their grandparents babysit them, Savannah is a champion equestrian and things are better with Lindsay and the family than the show leads us to believe. Todd has no plans on quitting, as long as he and the family are relevant, and getting decent ratings,  he'll keep doing it. I think everyone's gay (not that there's anything wrong with it). I thought Todd was and Todd even joked with us about how he gets that all the time.  After meeting him and listening to him, I think he's VERY southern and definitely a metrosexual, but I no longer think that he's gay. (Again…not that there would have been anything wrong with it if he was.) I loved Todd and I love the show. If you're into reality TV, this show's one to check out if you haven't already.

Girlfriends Guide to Divorce
I'm struggling with this one. I like Lisa Edelstein…a lot, but that's ALL I like about GGD. I don't like her ex. I don't like her kids. I don't like her friends or her brother or her lawyer. Where do her kids go to school? Have you ever seen a school that looks like what I envision day care at Google would look like? I was hoping when the girls were talking about going to a baby shower Gwyneth Paltrow was throwing, that maybe there would be a Gwyneth cameo. Nope. C. Thomas Howell alert. He's aging well. He's the guy Abby had an "affair of the heart" with. Totally knew that mediation was going to go bad and it sure did. Now…lawyers. Janine Garofalo's character is so mean and unlikeable which is how I envision her to be in real life. I'm still in, but only because I've got some Tuesday night time on my hands now that Tori and Jax are gone.

Survivor
While it was a surprise to Jon, it wasn't for all of us. Natalie stuck to her plan and finally got him and his immunity idol out of the game. YEAH! Gotta give her credit, she faked him out pretty well with her misunderstanding of who to vote for last week. Well played Nat! Jon's a sucker and I'm afraid that Jaclyn knows it too. Ya think they'll stay together after the show? As much as I want Missy out of the game, gotta give her credit too. She got pummeled during the reward challenge and really messed up her ankle. Only way to be sure it wasn't broken was an x-ray OUT of the game. With only 6 days left, Missy wasn't leaving, so she wrapped it up and stayed put. Wish my kid was watching, perfect "see how she didn't quit" moment blown. I think more shocking than Missy or Jon was learning that Keith had never been to a spa or had a massage. I can't imagine life without ever having a massage. It may have been Keith's first, but betting it's not his last. Next time he goes, he needs to bring Wesley and get that bizarro hair CUT!

The Goldbergs
I totallllly remember the model scam at the Paramus Park Mall back in 1980 whatever. Barry AND Bev fell for it but why wouldn't they? It was back when Cindy Crawford,
Claudia Schiffer, Kathy Ireland, and the entire Super Model thing was huge! While Barry and Bev were getting scammed, Adam and Murray were seeing E.T. Remember when you had to actually pay to see a movie a million times? Ahhh those were the days. We unfortunately had a bit of Goldberg sadness when we learned about Murray and his Dad. While they both don't where pants in the house, they really had nothing else in common. Lots of anger and bitterness which is probably a little too much reality for my favorite fun family sitcom. Also, for some reason, I thought Paul Sorvino was dead. He isn't, he's Murray's Dad! Of course at the end of my 22 minutes, Bev had it out with John Calabassas the model scammer and Murray's Dad brought pickled beets to New Years Eve and maybe things were better for everyone. Fave moment: Real New Years wishes from the REAL Goldbergs.
2 Goldbergs Trivia Questions:
What was the name of Barry's Clothing Line?
What was the song of the episode?

Modern Family
Not my favorite episode this season.
Haley's 21st birthday and she spent it in a bar with her family? I don't know how realistic that is but, I went with it. Sort of. Great Toyota integration with one exception, most people get the new car surprise when they get their license, not when they can legally drink. At least they did address this but still a bit off. The entire thing with Lily, Manny, Luke and Alex was super annoying. Never a good idea to have them all together again. Note: I'm pretty sure that it was Tori Spelling back when she and Dean had one kid and still loved each other, who coined the term "Guncles" and not Mitch and Cam. Gotta give credit where credits due.

-May 20th...mark it down! That's the day...Letterman's final episode. It seems like he's been leaving for years already doesn't it? What did he give a year's notice? Maybe he'll go work with Leno on that garage show. They both love cars. What is it about comedians and cars?

-Adult Swim renewed Mike Tyson Mysteries, Black Jesus and Mr. Pickles

-Good luck to the guy working the "bleep" button during the MTV Movie Awards. He's going to be more stressed than normal with Amy Schumer hosting.

-Golden Globes come out this morning. Let me know if you want the list!

Thursday's Trivia Question: What was Paul Sorvino's characters name in one of my favorite movies of all time, Goodfellas? Bonus if you can tell me what he would never do in the movie.
