Primetime C3 ratings for 1Q15 were down about 10 percent versus last year but some networks’ ad loads increased by over 5 percent. Some advice: If you want viewers to stick around, shoving more commercials at them when we already have issues in getting viewers to watch commercials is probably going to piss them off more and give them reason to hit the FF button. Come on guys, just work towards better content. IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME.

THE SHOWS
Married at First Sight
Dr. Pepper and her staff really need to step in and begin some therapy for our couples. Jessica and Ryan DEFINITELY need at least a couple of sessions and so do Davina and Sean. Interestingly enough, Jacklyn and Ryan seem to be doing pretty well. Let's start with Jessica and Ryan. She's a doormat. She NEVER makes a decision, she never offers an opinion she just complains about things she doesn't like about Ryan. Pretty sure they've only eaten sushi for dinner since they've been home from their honeymoon mainly because Jessica can't even express her desire to eat anything other than a california roll. Ryan's just a d*ck. I don't know why they even chose him to be on this show. No way they stay together. Davina, on the other hand, she's an excellent communicator. Sure she's a bit high maintenance but she's pretty good at telling Sean what she wants and needs from him. Sean's a p*ssy. He's weak and has some serious issues. I'm sure Dr. Joseph was thrilled to get Sean's call for help on New Years Eve. Jacklyn and Ryan are really pretty into each other. I like them both, but Ryan needs some decongestant or something. It always sounds like he's stuffed up. This could get on my nerves and to be honest, his teeth are a deal breaker for me.

Real Housewives of New York
Bethenny's really not coming across well on this show at all. I think her schtick is just getting old. We all loved her straight shooter ways back in the day but now, it's just too much. She's rude and thoughtless and even a bit mean. She's also super thin. I think the women were at a table with food on it for most of last nights episode and I don't think I saw Bethenny take one bite. I really don't like most of the newer cast members at all. Kristen's a non entity and Dorinda is completely insane. She lets her 20 year old spoiled daughter rule her life and doesn't see how ridiculous she looks. She's been dating her chubby guy for 2 1/2 years and he's only met her daughter 3 times? WTF is with that? What's with the housewives dating babies? What's with the babies dating the housewives? The cougar thing is pushed to the limit with some of these ladies, no? What's after cougar but before geezer? That's where Ramona and Sonia are and seeing them with 24 year olds is just WEIRD! I did find Carole's urn story to be fascinating though. Her dead hubby's roaming around Europe going from church to church in ceramic Tupperware container without any supervision. No frequent flier miles at all to share with the family. That's an insane story. Anyone notice all that eboost in Kristen's apartment or Hannah's horrific eyebrows or Bethenny's side boobage or that the countess was neckless-less last night?

THE OTHER STUFF

-I've been dying for some Netflix numbers. They don't provide much at all about viewership but Variety released some Netflix numbers yesterday that were a bit surprising. The research company they used surveyed 2500 Netflix subscribers and measured their computers, laptops, tablets and phones. They didn't include Smart TV's though. They measured the first 30 days of a new shows release and came up with the following: Daredevil beat House of Cards and Kimmy Schmidt. Daredevil had 4.2 million viewers, Kimmy 2.9MM and HOC 2.6MM. Thoughts? I know Daredevil's pretty big, even my husband is watching it, but bigger than HOC? Actually, I can't believe that Kimmy is bigger than HOC. I need to think on this a bit more.

-I always assumed that Seinfeld would be on TV, in reruns, forever. I mean it ENDED in 1998 that's 17 years ago. If you want free Seinfeld, you can find it almost every night somewhere. I guess once it leaves traditional TV it needs to go somewhere and now we know where we will be able to find it…Hulu. They won the big Seinfeld prize of paying $700K per episode for the streaming rights So…9 seasons at 22 eps per season is…$130MM bucks. Worth it? You tell me.

-Speaking of Hulu, they reached a pretty cool agreement with Cablevision. Cablevision will become the first cable provider to provide Hulu's content to its subscribers. The idea is to help stop the cord cutting. Again guys, you all need to use wheretowatch.com as content becomes available all over the place. It's getting more and more difficult to figure out where to watch anything for free these days. I just hope that my lovely cable company doesn't raise my bill to pay for this stuff. Who am I kidding? Of course they will. NOTHING IS FREE!

-More OTT info: More than half of US Broadband homes subscribe to an OTT service. This is up 11% vs. year.  72% of 18-24 year olds and 71% of 25-34 year olds but it's apparently NOT translating into cord cutting. 93% of cable subscribers also subscribe to an OTT service. So cable isn't dead...yet.

-Everyone's talking about Millenials. I'm actually tired of talking about them already but since it's my job to understand their consumption patterns and behaviors, and probably part of yours, whenever I read anything of interest, I tend to share it which apparently Millenials don't like to do as a group.  80% of Millenials are likely to watch a TV show IF they've watched a promo shared with them online but apparently they are 10% less likely to share the TV promo with their friends. Are they just not sharers? Is their sharing reputation on the line? Do Millenials know sharing is caring?

-It's been a while since I've had anything to post from The Tonight Show, but last night, Jeremy Renner killed it. All the Avengers are out on the talk show circuit, but this performance is by far the best thing I've seen across the board. Of course Robert Downey Jr. on Howard was awesome too. Check out Hawkeye…hilarious.
