I had a BUNCH of questions after watching Wednesday's Empire. What happened to Marisa Tomei? What's up with the crazy hair bun trend? Did we need to see Becky and J Poppa all snuggly? Did Hakeem recover from his PTSD without the help of a therapist or drugs? Is Frieda THAT talented? What was in the baptism water that turned Dre into a completely different person? Is Michael gone forever? Wouldn't you choose a cooler logo for your gang and hire a much better tattoo artist? What is Cookie going to do when she finds out the guy she's sleeping with is the same guy who beat the piss out of her son? What's Lucious going to do when he finds out that Cookie and Jamal are spending time together? What's going to happen to Anika? Who cleans Hakeem's apartment after he trashes it every week?
Scandal
Cyrus, Olivia and Mellie all saw greatness in Fitz way back when. So much so that they've done everything possible to make him President of the United States. Have we seen this greatness in action yet? Fitz is the most P-Whipped dude I've ever seen. At least Cyrus has taken his lemons and made lemonade by refocusing Olivia and now...she's running the show. Pretty good day for David Rosen, huh? One cute little VP and a 6 pack of wine coolers waiting for him outside his office door and Ellen's wife giving him the craziest lap dance inside his office door. I honestly didn't see that coming. I thought she'd tease him, leave and Susan Ross would be standing there when she left. I figured it was only a matter of time before Shonda dealt with the whole Cosby thing. I did think maybe she'd put a twist on it and have the wife be the rapist but okay check that off the list for the season. Now we can look forward to next week. The last episode BEFORE the WINTER finale. Can you figure out more ways to build the hype ABC?
Flesh & Bone
Starz is on such a role, I had to check out there newest original series, Flesh & Bone. The premiere is available right now online and on their watch app. Here's the deal with this one. Takes place inside the ballet world which most of us don't really care about or have any interest in. At first I thought I'd seen this all before. Ballerina leaves home to go to NYC and join the NY ballet. Super mean dude in charge rips her apart and then gives her a second chance and of course she's awesome (if you know your ballet that is, I had no clue) She doesn't fit in, she barely speaks any actual words and she's not that pretty. There are a lot of naked ballerina's but they're not that hot, remember these girls don't really eat, so they look like skeletons. One of the hotter girls moonlights at a strip joint so there's something to get guys to watch I guess. I was pretty much out until the very last scene of the show. There is something going on with Claire and her brother and it seems FREAKY. I may go back for more now.
THE OTHER STUFF
-I know I sampled Amazon's original show, Sneaky Pete. It starred Giovanni Ribisi as an ex-con who took on the identity of his former cell mate but I just can't remember if I liked it or not. I think I did actually. Good news for Bryan Cranston as he's the producer of this one, Amazon gave their thumbs up and now he's got work to do to get the entire season up and running asap!
-CW Seed's on a spending spree. First The O.C. and now the Ben Stiller Show will be there for all of us to enjoy...again. The Ben Stiller show only aired for one season but it was hilarious from what I recall. A bunch of amazing, now well known comedians were all a part of the show along with Ben. So binge with the Cohen's first and then...move on to Ben and his buds.
