THE SHOWS

Madam Secretary
WHOA! Both Madam Secretary and The Good Wife were off the hook last night. At home, while the kids were decorating the tree and actually stringing popcorn and cranberries, (who NOT on a TV show does that?) The White House was dealing with the possibility of World War 3.  It would have happened too, but thankfully, Elizabeth's crack little team figuring out (in what felt like 5 minutes) that Maria Ostrov, the new Russian President, murdered her husband (and got a boob job.) If it wasn't for that big discovery, our countries would have been at war. One problem, Henry's asset, Demetri, who pretty much delivered all the strategic information for the United States to kick the soviets ass, paid the price in the negotiations. Not good for Henry and definitely not got for Henry & Elizabeth's relationship. Things started out great for them, too. They made out on The White House porch, took a cozy trip to Geneva, but then this news sent Henry home on a commercial flight. He must have been pissed. He blew off Air Force One for a cramped coach flight and airplane food Just as the President and Elizabeth were heading out of Geneva someone fired a bomb but of course, the credits rolled and we have no idea who is alive and who isn't. Good Winter finale guys!

The Good Wife
The Good Wife was SO GOOD! It really looked like Eli had finally found love. Not just with anyone either. Super rich, super hot, Vanessa Williams was into him too. I didn't see them lasting long, and of course, she broke his heart with news that she had to head back to California. Of course before she did, Ruth had her hire Jason away from Alicia so he's gone too for a while. Alicia was pissed off at first, and blamed Eli but then he came over and told her he didn't have anything to do with Jason leaving, so she invited him in for a cocktail. (Remember, she gave up the red wine for tequila) Not sure if he was drunk or not, but he decided to tell Alicia about Will's phone call 6 years ago. You remember the one where Will told Alicia he loved her and would give up everything to be with her. Eli deleted it and Alicia never heard it. With that shocking news, Alicia took Eli's cocktail and kicked him out and the credits rolled. Juicy stuff. Of course there was also some crazy sh*t going on at Lockhart/Agos. All the associates revolted and left right  before a big case. They were going to Michael J. Fox's firm, the opposing council in the case, but Cary and Diane got over on them. They hired them back and then fired them on the spot so now  they can't work for Alex P. Keaton and they can't work for Lockhart/Agos. Awesome move.

Transparent
I had a pretty busy weekend and yet, I somehow managed to fit the entire 10 episode second season of Transparent in. I have such mixed emotions about this show. It makes me very uncomfortable. Every character makes me anxious for some reason. The acting across the board is brilliant, especially Jeffery Tambor as Maura. So much went on in the ten 30 minute episodes and of course, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. I can tell you that I find Gaby Hoffman so incredibly bizarre in just about everything she does. I'm betting that if I ever met her in real life, I wouldn't understand anything she talked about. I've never seen her interviewed, but I just have this feeling that she's really out there. Judith Light was incredible in this season. She and Maura have a very intimate bathtub season that really freaked me out, but then there was the scene with Maura and Angelica Huston that freaked me out even more. Now that I think about it, maybe it was the entire episode at the Idylwild Music Festival that just, put me over the edge completely. I'm pretty sure that I've never watch anything with this many ugly naked women in my entire life. I don't know why this show makes me so uncomfortable, but it does and maybe that's what it's supposed to do. If you watched any/all of Transparent, let me know, def need to talk about this one with someone.

THE OTHER STUFF

-NBC gave Chicago Med 5 more episodes this season. Now the cast can do some holiday shopping.

-Mike & Molly has been cancelled. The show was originally renewed for a 22 episode 6th season, but the order was cut to 13 and the upcoming 6th season will be it's last. Not sure when it will air and not sure what really happened either. I'm surprised Melissa McCarthy was still into doing the show now that she's making movie money. Maybe that was part of the problem here. Who knows.

Monday's Trivia Question: Jeffery Tambor played 2 other iconic characters. One on The Larry Sanders Show and one on Arrested Development. Name them both.
