THE SHOWS

The Grinder Season (hopefully NOT Series) Finale
I really hope The Grinder gets a 2nd season. The finale rocked. The episode where Stewart snuck into the plaintiff's apartment was not only on my DVR but it was on the plaintiff's Nanny Cam or Pet Cam or some cam he just so happened to have in his apartment. So Stewart was out as lead council and of course, Dean was in and under tremendous pressure to save Daddy from disbarment. The plaintiff's attorney was the attorney that Dean beat with drama in another case. The guy was so humiliated and screwed, losing to a fake lawyer, that he lost his job and apparently his TV family too. So what did he do? Binged all of The Grinder episodes and studied Mitch and Dean to out Grinder The Grinder. Of course Stewart had the real law and the real Grinder in his corner. He also had awesome writers who came up with a Twin Twist to save the day. So glad they did. If The Grinder does end after only one season at least everything was tied up nice and tidy for us all. Except for one thing…WTF is Dean's necklace? Is it a box cutter? It looks super sharp. I worry about Rob Lowe taking off his shirt too fast and cutting that gorgeous chest of his with the super sharp edge. Anyone notice this? I really need answers. Maybe I can't handle the truth. See how I did that? Lawyer stuff…I love The Grinder. Please bring it back, FOX, or Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or anyone at this point. Note to the FOX people: Re-run The Grinder over the Summer. Just sayin.

Deadliest Catch
No huge gross zits to pop, no huge gross swollen testicles to gawk at or gag over just a huge storm, a near mutiny and two young captains kicking ass on the Bering Sea. Edgar wasn't killing it and the crew was getting pissed so what did they do? They called Sig and tattled on Edgar. It worked of course. Edgar's no Sig. Sucks that we all know that on camera though. I sort of feel bad for him even though he was being a d**sh. I hope Sig was home watching Jake Anderson man up and can his buddies for drinking on the job. Not cool his friends would do that to him but pretty cool that he did what he had to do he Captain'ed Up! Another young rock star captain, the newbie, Sean Dwyer. Nice addition the cast.

Chrisley Knows Best
So much doesn't make any sense and yet I still watch this show. Savannah went to college in Nashville so Todd and the family moved to Nashville. I'm pretty sure Todd doesn't work anymore. His obsession with stalking his daughter, is really a cause for alarm at this point. Hope his Atlanta therapist moved to Nashville too. Now Chase supposedly didn't move to Nashville but he was there to help his Dad stalk his sister. Probably because the show sucks without Chase. The show sucks with Grayson and yet this episode focused on Grayson wrestling which was ridiculous. One thing that did make sense and was not ridiculous the Xfinity Security System product integration/sponsorship. Very well done, gotta give Comcast and NBCU a shout out. That one was of course all in the family but executed with perfection nonetheless.

First Impressions
New show on USA after Chrisley Knows Best. Had to check it out. Freddy Prinze Jr.'s the host. Now I know where he's been. The gym! Huge, great arms but I think he's a bit too thin. Steve Carrell and Dana Carvey were the judges this week. Dana needs his neck done…really. The idea…3 impressionists compete for $10 G's. Pretty good impressions. Craig Gass has been on Howard Stern, he's really good but all 3 rocked with their own impressions. When they had to just do random ones, it was more like charades or something.  Lip Sync Battle proved that you could take a bit and make it an entire show. Now…everyone's doing it. Hence…First Impressions. Probably won't give it a Season Pass, but I could come back again when my West Wing obsession is over and I'm all caught up on everything else I need to watch.

THE OTHER STUFF

-What a difference a year makes if you're Comedy Central, huh?
Michele Ganeless is out as Prez, Kent Alterman in as Prez.
Jon Stewart's Out Trevor Noah in
Stephen Colbert's Out and Larry Wilmore in
Daily Show down 38% against 18-49
The Nightly Show down 40% against 18-49
I don't want to say "I told ya so" but I'm pretty sure I typed it right here in this blog that Jon Stewart should have passed the desk chair on to Samantha Bee. Have you seen Monday's episode of Full Frontal? Best one yet! Kevin Reilly's the winner. Someone needs to read this thing...I'm usually right about this stuff!!! Check it out Full Frontal...PLEASE!

-Everyone wants in on the content distribution front. Everyone. Yesterday I told you about Spotify's newest original content and now, in addition to what they've already got going on, yesterday, Amazon introduced Amazon Video Direct. A self service program for people to make their own videos available to Amazon customers. Creators can sell their content as Pay Per View, through direct subscription as a new perk to anyone who subscribels to Amazon Prime or as free clips supported by advertising . This puts Amazon in position to compete with YouTube and Vimeo in addition to Netflix.  Amazon is also going to distribute $1 million dollars a month to the top 100 AVD titles in Prime Video. I really need to start vlogging instead of blogging. I want in on that million.

Wednesday's Trivia Question: What do Rachel Green, Buffy Summers, Alice Hyatt, Joey Potter, Carla Tortelli, Roseanne Conner, Max Black and Penny all have in common?
