-The season 13 celebrity cast of DANCING WITH THE STARS will be unveiled in a live
announcement August 29 during an episode of BACHELOR PAD.  Show hosts Tom
Bergeron and Brooke Burke will host the live event.  DANCING WITH THE STARS
returns September 19 at 8p with a two-hour premiere.  On September 20, a one-hour
DANCING WITH THE STARS: MEET THE CAST will air followed by the debut of
DANCING WITH THE STARS RESULTS SHOW at 8p.  Now there is a MEET THE CAST
special? Is this because they are scraping the bottom of the barrel and many of us will
have no idea who the so called "stars" are?

-Many of you tell me about shows I should have watched, or should be watching, and a
lot of what is suggested and recommended are genre's I just don't love, but there are
some shows, like ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT that I didn't watch at the time for
whatever reason (conflicts maybe?  Not sure why really).  This show just keeps getting
quoted by all of you, suggested, etc.  Well, I had some time on my hands this weekend
and started watching season 1 on Netflix.  I am 6 episodes in and I love it.  It is
brilliant, hilarious and of course it stars one of my Jason's...Bateman which is really just
an added bonus.  So, don't think I don't listen...I do, it just takes time to fit it all
in...but...I am on it!  Thanks to all of you for your relentlessness!

-KATE PLUS 8  IS actually coming back...actually tonight I believe. I not sure why it
wasn't on TLC's original announcements, so for all of you that were falling into a deep
dark depression without Kate and all those kids, you can stop popping the Prozac and
tune in on the tonight at 9pm to check them all out.

-It's official, the upcoming season of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES will be the last one.  If
you like DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, you should definitely check out GOOD CHRISTIAN
BELLE's this season(they should change the name of the show).  Very similar to DW,
but takes place in Dallas. Lots of southern accents and some large hair and very large
diamonds...I enjoyed the pilot, not sure if I will DVR it or not yet, it will depend on
how much I am committed to this Fall.

-For all of you ONE TREE HILL fans, a marathon will be airing Labor Day weekend on
Soapnet...just thought you guys would like to know about it and set your DVRs, I may
catch up on the past two seasons that I gave up when Peyton and Lucas left the show.

-On Saturday GOOGLE celebrated Lucille Balls 100th birthday (which is really weird
since she is dead, but whatever) with a pretty cool tribute on the home page.  Just
goes to show that we all still Love Lucy!

-As you know I am a huge huge fan of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, and I hope some of you
are catching it on ESPN Classic.  If my insane praise wasn't enough to convince you of
the power and brilliance of this show, The Television Critics of America named FRIDAY
NIGHT LIGHTS program of the year in a ceremony on Saturday night.  Just makes me
feel good knowing the show is getting the recognition it deserves.  Now if they would
win the Emmy, all would be right with the world.

-I don't really love the Sci-Fi genre.  Not sure if you consider vampires sci-fi, I
don't...but anyway, as you know Jason Priestly is now directing and starring in a 5
episode guest appearance on the HAVEN which airs on Friday nights on Syfy.  So as a
good fake wife, I checked it out.  I actually watched it with my husband.  We both
enjoyed it even though I have issues with the unexplainable...This show is kind of like
the X-Files, as all this mysterious weird stuff happens, but it is all happening in one
town...HAVEN.  I don't know if I would recommend it or not. I mean obviously if you
love Jason Priestly, then you need to watch it, and if you are into the genre, then I
suggest you check it out...

-Last night we were out at a graduation party, so the only show I was able to watch
was BIG BROTHER.  More crying, more whining, a bit of yelling by my fave in the
house...Jeff.  Kahlia is the new head of household, but she is really just Danielle's
puppet even though she gave an entire speech saying she was making her own
decisions...whatever Kahlia...we all know the truth.  SPOILER ALERT...Kahlia nominated
Jeff and Rachel, which was no surprise really.  I hope that Jeff wins the Veto, my only
concern is that Jordan will go up and if that happens after Jeff screamed at Kahlia,
maybe Jordan will get voted out instead of shiny, whiny Rachel.

-JERSEY SHORE premiered last Thursday with record breaking numbers...I got a lot of
heat for not mentioning it.  I know it will surprise many of you, but I have never seen
an episode of JERSEY SHORE.  I am from NJ, I love my state and when I first heard
about the show, my pride got in the way of watching it.  So, I never got on the
bandwagon and I really don't want to at this point.  If any of you are just dying for
some JERSEY SHORE commentary, let me know...I have a few readers that could
definitely provide some guest commentary if you really need it.
-I am a huge FACEBOOK user (and fan)...thought some of this information was
interesting:

Facebook users spend more than a quarter of their time on the site consuming and
interacting with the Facebook newsfeed, and this activity represents 4% of all time
spent online in the U.S., according to a recent whitepaper on the social networking site
from ComScore. On average, 16% of "Fans" are reached by branded content by a brand
that posts five out of seven days. But branded content is much more likely to be
consumed on news feeds than from dedicated fan pages, 40-150 times more likely, in
fact.
• Fans of brands on Facebook (those who have explicitly "liked" a brand) are the
easiest to reach with social media brand impressions, but the Friends of those Fans also
constitute an important incremental audience
• Brands depend on this social element, as exposure among Friends of Fans often
surpasses reach among Fans
• Brands can leverage the information on their Fans' online behavior to better
understand what messaging might work best with customers, which products to
promote via social media and what type of promotions are most likely to gain traction
• The "Value of a Fan" can be assessed in increasing the depth of engagement and
loyalty among Fans, generating incremental purchase behavior and leveraging the
ability to influence Friends of Fans
