-Have to admit, I was absolutely exhausted last night and didn't watch much before falling asleep, lets be honest though there wasn't much on anyway.

-When I watch Neil Patrick Harris on LIVE WITH KELLY, it doesn't matter what Kelly wears, it doesn't matter if the necklace is on or off, all is right with the world.  He IS the perfect co-host.  He makes Kelly better, which is what a co-host should do.  He's comfortable and funny and talented.  I know he's not a contender, but I wish he was and I think Kelly does too.

-The only other thing I watched last night before passing out, was 2 episodes of MELISSA & JOEY on ABC Family.  I have no idea why, I just somehow got there.  I had never seen it before, so it took 2 episodes to figure out some of the premise which makes no sense at all.  Melissa seems to be raising her teenage niece and nephew (guessing the parents both died in a plane or car crash)  and for some reason needs a nanny who happens to be Joey.  Not sure why one would need a nanny when the kids are old enough to be dating, but I got passed it all really fast when Joey walked around in a towel and proved that he is running on 12% body fat.  Whooooa that kept the eyelids from drooping.  Joey seems to wear clothes that highlight his lack of body fat most of the time, so I now do understand why I would tune in again.

-This morning when I got up, I finally caught NURSE JACKIE from last Sunday.  SPOILER ALERT: I can't believe that Cruz fired Eddie and Gloria.  Luckily there are only 2 episodes left, so I won't miss them too much, but the show will suck without them.  I'm hoping that somehow they come back, but no clue at this point.  Things are getting even uglier forJackie between her custody battle, these two losses and Cruz knowing her secret...let's see what happens in the next 2 weeks.

-The third season premiere of RIZZOLI & ISLES Tuesday night on TNT attracted 5.6 million total viewers and set a new record as basic cable's #1 Tuesday premiere ever for an original scripted drama series.  Directly after at 10p, FRANKLIN & BASH debuted a new second season with close to 3.1 million total viewers.

-Local television is starting to see their sites gain some traction and obviously it will continue to grow, but not at the great speeds of other online sites, but growth is growth and locally it's been a challenge for stations to gain share here.  At least it's growing...

US Local Digital* and Traditional TV Station Revenues, 2006-2016 (billions)

-5500 telecasts generated 71 million social interactions in the month of May according to current Trendrr data:

  • 40 million of  those social interactions revolved around cable TV
  • Sports was the top genre
  • Broadcast network social engagement increased across the board vs. year ago
  • FOX had the most social interactions with 7 million (IDOL)
  • ABC saw the biggest increase YOY in social interactions growing from 1 million to 6 million social interactions in 2012
  • Viggle (a favorite Carruba App) accounted for 18% of all social activity on broadcast and 10% on cable
  • AMERICAN IDOL was the most social TV finale of 2012
  • BASKETBALL WIVES, WORKAHOLICS (???) and GAME OF THRONES were the top social programs within the reality, comedy and drama genres
Friday's Trivia Question: This Sunday is the premiere of TRUE BLOOD, what is the name of the town the show takes place in.

Have a great weekend!
