Only a few more episodes of 30 Rock before the series finale, and the set up for all of the loose ends to get tied up has begun.  What will happen to Jack? Hopefully he outplays, outwits and outlasts Kaylee Hooper to become the CEO of Kabletown.  After his brilliant birthday card scam over Banks, Jenna, and Kaylee, I'm guessing that Hank Hooper will come to his senses and name Jack CEO before the final credits roll. Hopefully Alec Baldwin will also choose a hair color and stick with it by this time as well.  Liz just started fertility treatments and after her first injection she's become an emotional mess. My prediction is that Liz gets pregnant with twins, finds out that her adoption of a 6 year old has gone through, quits TGS and saves the Hostess company. I haven't come to any conclusions about Tracy, Kenneth, or Jenna yet.  I'm loving all the cameo's though.  Last night John McEnroe playing Name that Homonym (currently America's number one show) and getting the word racket wrong was hilarious. Also in last nights episode, Octavia Spencer, Steve Buscemi, Will Arnett and Megan Mullalhy. From what I've read, a lot more "special guest stars" to come in the remaining episodes.

The Critics Association Awards were on the CW last night.  It's hard for me to pass up an awards show of any kind.  I'm not sure this one has been televised before, has it? If it has and I've missed it all these years, I'm really bummed.  It was pretty good! In addition to the standard categories that we are all familiar with, the critics have a few additional ones that the Academy should really consider adding, such as Best Ensemble, Best Young Actress/Actor, Best Actor/Actress in an Action Movie , Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie, Best Actor/Actress in a Comedy, Best Comedy.   The critics also got a few things right that the Academy got wrong this year.  One of my favorite movies of the year was a foreign film called The Intouchables. While it didn't win Best Foreign Film at least it was nominated. Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow were nominated for Best Director by the critics and thankfully all was right in the world and my boy Ben won! I love Ben, I really do, and I know he had a bad day, so I shouldn't say anything, but his shirt was untucked and he looked like an idiot when he was accepting his award.  Also cool about this awards show was the inclusion of so many of my favorite CW stars from Hart of Dixie and The Vampire Diaries. Argo won best picture and Steven Spielberg looked really pissed off. Even with all of the extra categories, the winners got to speak as long as they wanted and the show finished in 2 hours. Next up, Sunday's Golden Globes on NBC, can't wait.

I tried...again...to watch 1600 Penn and again, I didn't find it funny at all.  Is it supposed to be a comedy? I'm not sure.  I know "they" were really high on Josh Gad, the guy that plays Skip, but I find the character to be really annoying.  I've never been into Jenna Elfman and sort of bummed that Bill Pullman doesn't have a hit on his hands.  No Season Pass for me on this one.  Sorry guys.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-I was in such a hurry to get the Oscar Nominations out yesterday that I didn't get to add in any of my comments.  Of course I do have a few.  I gotta be honest, I haven't seen a lot of the nominated films yet, but I did see Argo and as I mentioned above, it is absolutely a complete abomination that Ben Affleck didn't get nominated for this picture.  I'm just disgusted by his omission and have no idea how in the world something like this could happen.  I did see Beasts of the Southern Wild  (weird right?) and it was a great film, don't get me wrong, but Argo was BY FAR superior and deserved the recognition in the directors category.  My other issue is that one of my favorite movies of the year, a foreign film called The Intouchables (also mentioned above) was NOT nominated in the category at all.  Huge miss there people.

-For all of you that are into the Oscars, the App is live as of yesterday and is available on even more devices.  So this year, if you are an Android or Kindle person you are in luck.  Of course if you are an IOS person, then you already know how awesome the Oscar App is especially on Oscar night with all of the backstage stuff accessible.

-I had a feeling Britney Spears wouldn't be back to the X Factor next year. I mean lets be honest...she sucked. Sure there were some great faces that she contributed, but for 15MM bucks was she worth it? I'm sure Simon said...No F'ing way.  So Britney's out and as far as I'm concerned...good riddance.

Friday's Trivia Question: Bill Pullman plays The President of the United States in 1600 Penn.  He has also played The President of the United States another time...in a movie.  Name the movie.

Have a great weekend!
