Nurse Jackie
Now I know how it feels when someone you care about is an addict. You're always waiting for the next shoe to drop, you doubt everything, and while you're rooting for them, you just assume failure. That's how I felt during most of last nights Nurse Jackie. The episode started off with Jackie and Kevin finalizing their divorce and things seemed actually cool between them. Then BOOM car accident. Of course Kevin thought the worst, I get it. Then I was a wreck because I thought they'd have to put Jackie on pain meds. They didn't, but that new nasty doctor, not knowing Jackie's history, gave her a prescription for them. So, when Jackie went into the drug store I thought the worst. Then yeah! she called the cute cop instead. Then she was late to get her kids and I thought, Kevin's going to freak out. She wasn't late. The cop hooked her up with a ride in the police car. We are rooting for Jackie, we are. It's stressful though right? Also, more hints of Gloria's impending brain tumor...she went to Eddie, wasn't sure why, then realized it was piping she needed and she was in the wrong place. It's coming. You know it is. Still...it was REALLY nice to Jackie on a date, and even nicer when she told the guy the truth about herself. He seems like a good guy. Like I said...I'm rooting for Jackie. I want her to come through all this an even better rock star than she already is.
I thought my brain was alert enough and ready to take on Game of Thrones live last night, but when you finally give me a gorgeous naked Jon Snow losing his virginity to the wilding chick, it could have thrown things off and made concentration even more difficult. I've been waiting 2 1/2 seasons for that butt shot! It was worth it, but I'm apologizing in advance if I didn't get everything else that happened in the hour straight. Jamie Lannister and Brienne showed up at Lord Bolton's place in quite a state. Jamie was covered in mud and dirt with his hand hanging around his neck. Lord Bolton filled him in on everything that happened at Kings Landing and had his "doctor" take a look at him. The doc wanted to give him "milk of the poppy" for the pain he was about to inflict on, but he turned it down and screamed his head off during the "surgery" instead. Back in Kings Landing, Lady Tyrell, my new fave, and Tyrion had a "chat" about how expensive the big wedding was going to be. Rob Stark beheaded someone, Arya's sort of being held hostage. Stanis got home and told his wife the truth about him and the Red one in front of all of her jarred dead sons embryos. Stanis hung out with his daughter, with the 1/2 burned face who should probably audition for Westeros Idol next time they're in that neck of the woods. Jamie and Brienne took a bath together and we got to see Jamie's butt. Then he confessed a bunch of important stuff to Brienne, but I have to rewatch because his sock puppet hand sticking out of the water was very distracting. I was waiting for it to start talking or something. I think that Jamie died. Can someone confirm? I waited until the last 9 minutes for some Khaleesi scenes which are always enjoyable. Then back in Kings Landing Daddy Lannister had some bad news for his kids. Tyrion has to marry Sansa Stark and while he wasn't thrilled at all by that news, I felt he sort of did get the last laugh when pops told his sister that she's got to marry the gay Loris Tyrell. Tyrion and Cersai should get together and kill their Dad, he's really a d*ck!
So back in old Fairytale land, Regina asked Rumple to disguise her so she could go find Snow White. Disguise? Really? With all of his magic that was the best he could do? Even more ridiculous was that nobody recognized her. Anyway, Snow had yet another shot to rid all worlds of Regina and she didn't take it. Idiot. But then again if she had, there'd be no show. So the evil Regina lives on to torture everyone. In Storybrooke, Regina was in her Gortons Fisherman garb when she heard about the beanstalk farm and the plans for everyone, but her, to go back to Fairytale Land. Not sure why she felt the need to tell Henry about her own plans to take him and go back and destroy everyone and everything, but she's evil so it's a brain I don't identify with. Regina erased Henry's mind of her plans and then hooked up with Hook to go down under and get her secret weapon that would help pull of her big plans. What Regina didn't plan on was that Hook would survive the crazy creature down below, hook up with Tamara and Greg and screw her over. Along with Snow's eyebrows, a few things bugged me about last nights episode. First, Rumple's comment to Regina about getting her hair highlighted and then Hook's over abundance of chest hair. No way that Fairytale Land has a good colorist and no way that hair was real.
You guys need to watch Spoiled Rotten Pets, at least once. These pet owners are out of their minds. Sure, I'm totally biased. I love Beth and Howard Stern, so I'll watch every week. But these people are just insane! The things they do for their pets are truly freakish. This week, there was a woman with 17 turtles & tortoises, a family with 100+ bearded dragons, a woman who threw a birthday party for Vinnie one of her 10 pet rats, and a woman with 6 afghans who drives 2 hours to take doggie dance classes. The craziest pet owners of the week were the ones who spent way too much money on a Bark Mitzvah for their dog Sophie. Complete with gown, a human and DOG rabbi, the hora, party favors and more. Through it all, Beth really never lets on that she thinks these people are out of their minds, but she must. I mean a rat birthday party?
Tanked
I thought this weeks episode was perfect in every way. 2 great tanks. One was an interactive sports tank for Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness. I'm betting he spent a ton on the tank that ATM built. He really should have put some of that money towards a new toupe, because the one he was sporting just wasn't working for him. The other tank was a lighthouse replica for a casino in Alabama. Both were tough builds, tough deliveries and tough installs. Not a lot of time for any hokieness. I like when the show is all about the tanks, how they're built, the fish and even just the install. It's all usually really complex which makes for an interesting and compelling episode. This was one of those weeks. Thumbs up!
White House Correspondence Dinner
The night started out with a House of Cards spoof called House of Nerds. If you knew your politics (I didn't) and watched House of Cards (I did), you probably enjoyed it. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCzI521sgqE
As for the rest of the night, there were what seemed like thousands of people invited to this event. Net/net, Obama killed and Conan didn't.
Amazon Originals
Not sure if you guys are aware of this, but Amazon is also getting into the content biz. What's cool about what they're doing though is, their current "pilots" are all currently available on their site. You can watch them all for free and vote on them. I'm guessing the 1 or 2 with the most votes will go to series. Of course I watched them all. Production wise they were all really high quality. Premise wise...not that many appealed to me. Here's a my recap:
Alpha House-I voted for this one. John Goodman and Mark Consuelos are Senators who live together with 2 other Senators in DC. Mark Consuelos is hot.
Betas-About a bunch of guys trying to get funding for a start up. Didn't love it
Browsers-A musical about a bunch of people that work at an online magazine. Didn't love it
Dark Minions-Syfy thing...not for me didn't even get passed 5 minute mark
Onion News-News/Oniony...not my thing
Supernatural-Animated...I don't do animated
Those Who Can't-About 3 odd teachers in a high school. I liked this one
Zombieland-I voted for this one. Just like the movie. I'm not a big zombie person, but I liked this one a lot.
NEWS & INFORMATION
-Yeah for me and for many of you guys too! Some great TV news was released on Friday night! First, NBC announced renewals for Parenthood, Revolution, Chicago Fire, Law & Order SVU and Grimm. (Yeahhhh Parenthood!) Then, CW announced renewals for Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast and greenlit The Originals. (Yeah Hart of Dixie!!!) To round out the night, CBS announced that Two and a Half Men will be back for its 11th season. Angus Young will be back on a limited basis.
-Saturday Night LIve will close out its 38th season with 3 live shows in May. 5/4's host is Zach Galifianakis, 5/11's will be Kristen Wiig and the final show of the season on 5/18 will have one of my faves...Ben Affleck as host. Kanye West is the musical guest that night. That's a bummer, not a fan of Kanye's.

- Google Sites (153.9 million)
