Behind the Candelabra-HBO 41,365

Technology is really amazing...this weekend truly proved that for me.  I watched all of the CW Pilots in the back seat of my car on the way down to Washington DC for our family road trip.On the way home, traffic worked in my favor and I was able to watch Behind the Candelabra via HBO GO, Smash's series finale via the NBC app and Nurse Jackie via the Showtime to Go app...my trusty Verizon Mifi did not let me down at all, car chargers were working in full force and all was right in my WWTM world.

Behind the Candelabra
When I first read about this movie, I honestly was only interested because quite frankly, I wanted to see Michael Douglas and Matt Damon kiss.  I know, I know, but c'mon, didn't you all feel the same way? I didn't know ANYTHING about Liberace at all. I mean I knew what we probably all knew. Flamboyant, piano player, gay.  That was about it. He was way before my time and not my thing at all. That said, I really enjoyed the movie. I thought that the performances were great. I forgot  Michael Douglas was Michael Douglas, was obsessed with Matt Damon's hair and his patchwork denim jacket. (I'm pretty sure I had one when I was 5 but would need confirmation from my Mom on that).  I was surprised at how good Matt Damon's body was, had weren't you? Rob Lowe's face was so bizarre he looked like a cat in terrible pain. I enjoyed the hair though.  The story was more about Lee and Scott's relationship and not as much about hiding Liberace's homosexuality as a lot of the promo's lead us to believe.   Didn't EVERYONE know that he was gay? It couldn't get more obvious could it?  If you watched, definitely let me know what you thought. If you didn't, there's still time to catch up, especially with all the reruns at the moment.

Smash Series Finale
I LOVED the Smash series finale. It's really a shame that this show figured out all of its problems too late for anyone to care or watch. It's also a total bummer that NBC ran the finale over Memorial Day Weekend when most people were away.  Not cool at all and a bit disrespectful.  The finale tied up every loose end for us and for all of you that were fans, I'm hoping you were as happy with the shows ending as I was. I'm guessing that most of you haven't seen the finale yet because of the holiday, so I'm not going to go into all the details at all.  I will mention that it was nice to see Scotty from Brother's & Sisters back on my TV (Ipad really). I loved that guy!

Nurse Jackie
Whew! I'm SO glad Akalitus doesn't have Alzheimer's...SO glad! For once, I'm happy I was wrong about a storyline, because most of the time, as you know, I'm right when it comes to this type of thing.  Of course the entire episode had me feeling confident, feeling good for Jackie and the gang. You know that Zoey and Prentiss are going to get together, especially now that his office is cleaned up and organized thanks to her and The Container Store. I'm good with that. It was also good to see the new b*tch doctor actually do something and actually get it righ.  Also a huge relief, Jackie finally took some responsibility for her actions and actually apologize to Kevin thanks to Frank's  refreshing honesty. So there I was, in the back seat, almost home from my trip feeling good, when the 30 seconds before the credits roll and  Jackie's daughter, Grace is doin lines with the boyfriend she was supposed to break up with. OMG, we all just can't catch a break can we?

Married to Jonas Season Finale
Season finale, really? How many episodes was this season?  4? It seemed like the shortest season ever, no? Was there just so little going on that they couldn't give us more episodes? I could watch Kevin and Dani read the phone book, they really don't bore me at all. Seriously. For a season finale there wasn't much. I mean Dani wasn't pregnant or anything, nothing big like that, but we did have some house hunting, Dani's photo shoot, Katie's breakdown over her clothes for the photo shoot, Kevin peeing outside on one of his own trees because EVERY bathroom in the house was in use, Mikey leaving for LA, Mr. Deleasa showing some emotion about Mikey's departure, some clarity on the rumor of a Joe Jonas sex tape (not true unfortunately) and then...credits. Not much, but honestly...I want more, I need more...when do we get more?

The Voice
Carson's hair was good...finally
Adam looked like he was wearing a prisoners shirt, but who cares? He's hot and I love him.
Shakira looked beautiful as she has all season.
Usher's leg was up, aviator glasses on to start the show.
Blake didn't have time to shave, had the jean jacket on and was ready to sing his super redneck, super country tune, Boys Round Here". This song includes the words "chew tobacca, chew tobacca...spit".  Even for me...it's a bit TOO country.  I didn't think that Blake's fellow judges liked the tune at all. They had the deer in the headlights look after his performance.
Then it was time for the contestants to perform:

Judith Hill/Team Adam- I couldn't tell you anything about her performance because I was OBSESSED with her hairdo as was everyone else. It was a crazy striped Mohican horsetail thing. No idea how that hair gets that way. Hoping it has a video or something.
Holly Tucker/Team Blake-sang "Done" and man this girl cleans up really well.  She also had an awesome pair of super sparkly cowboy boots that each judge commented on. Shakira was totally jealous of them and I'm betting a pair arrives at her trailer today.
Break time..."Diamonds" performed by Judith, Michelle, Sarah and Sasha...good but sort of boring.
The Swon Bro's/Team Blake sang "Seven Bridges Road" a great Eagle's harmony tune which is TOUGH to do so they added a real fire pit to take our minds off the fact that they didn't hit this one out of the park.  I still love them.
Sasha Allen/Team Shakira sang "Without You".  It was a bit Vegasy and she was a bit robotic for my taste.  I think she's leaving.
Sarah Simmons/Team Adam sang "Somebody That I Used To Know" and since I hate that song in general, I blipped right past it.
Break time...The Swon Bro's, Amber Carrington, Holly Tucker and Danielle Bradberry sang "Gotta Be Something More" which bored me.
Michelle Chamuel/Team Usher sang "Grenade" in front of mirrors which has been Usher's thing with her all season.  I think it was a weird thing to do to this girl. She definitely isn't easy on the eyes, so why make her look into mirror's all the time? It's easy for Usher and Bieber to look at mirrors all day, but Michelle Chamuel?  Her performance was good, but Usher oversold it with a standing ovation and the audience went nuts. Everyone loved her, everyone but me. I don't get it.
Danielle Bradberry/Team Blake sang "Grandpa".  I was bored by her. If it wasn't for her red sparkly cowboy boots I really wouldn't have paid any attention to her performance at all.
Amber Carrington was the best of the night. She sang "Skyfall" and did a phenomenal job.

NEWS & INFORMATION

-Probably one of the reasons Blake Shelton was in casual attire and sprouting a couple days worth of facial hair during The Voice last night was because he's been busy putting together a concert to raise money for the folks in his home state of Oklahoma.  The concert will air tomorrow night on NBC and will feature a bunch of country stars including wife Miranda Lambert. I know he's got a lot going on, but does shaving really take that long?

-June 30th can't get to FOX reality chief, Mike Darnell  fast enough. After 20 years at the network, he's decided to "try something new". I don't know if he was just exhausted from dealing with American Idol and all of the drama this season, or if he really does want to "try something new", but he's leaving.   If I were 51 years old and was leaving FOX after 20 years and a season of Mariah and Nicki, I think I'd bag the whole "try something new" thing and just do a whole lot of something old...money spending, cocktail drinking and massage getting...but that's just me.

-Before the Memorial Day Weekend break, FOX announced, Jennifer Hudson would be joining Keith Urban as a judge on next season's American Idol. I don't know if she's the magic bullet the show needs, I'm not sure what is anymore. I know FOX won't pull the plug on it, but honestly who could join the panel to make anyone even care at this point?

-I haven't heard about ANYONE who watched the CW's Cult, but if you did watch and NEED to see the final 6 episodes, the CW is going to air them starting on 6/28.

-Dan Harmon revealed on his podcast that he's been asked to return to Community as showrunner next season. He said he'd come back only if Chevy Chase did.  Chase definitely  won't be back according to the article I read, but Harmon hasn't given his final answer yet. I'm betting he will be back with our without Chevy. What else has he got to do?

How many of you guys used to watch Fresh Prince of Bel Air? Hopefully there's a lot of you out there who will LOVE this video. Couple of things you have to pay attention to while you're watching...Heather Graham's reaction vs. Bradley Cooper's. Stick with it to the end...it's worth it!   http://tvline.com/2013/05/25/will-smith-alfonso-ribeiro-fresh-prince-reunion-video/

-If you were missing Game of Thrones this weekend, my FBFF/FTSH, Jimmy Fallon posted his 500th video that I'm sure you'll all appreciate.  Check out Game of Desks right here:

-Amy Schumer's show on Comedy Central has been renewed for another season. I checked it out once and it was pretty funny but extremely foul. You have to be in the mood for it.
-Countess LuAnn still hasn't signed her deal for another season of Real Housewives of NYC.  Filming has already begun, so if she ends up signing, she may not get too much screen time.

-News Corp approved the plan to separate into two publicly traded companies. The publishing side will keep the name News Corp., while its entertainment business will be called 21st Century Fox. Rupert Murdoch and sons James and Lachlan will sit on both boards, while President and COO Chase Carey sits on the board of the entertainment company. The separation is expected to be finalized on June 28.

Tuesday's Trivia Question: On the show Good Times, JJ was the oldest, Thelma was the middle and who was the youngest Evans child?
