Under the Dome
I admit, there's just NOTHING on, and even I'm grasping at straws at this point, so of course I had to check out CBS's Under the Dome last night. They promoted the hell out of it, so it was the least I could do. I had a feeling this one wouldn't be for me. I've never really liked anything Stephen Kingish and this one's no exception. Basically the show is exactly what the trailers have revealed all of these weeks...an entire town inexplicably ends up inside an invisible dome. We are supposed to care about the dome, and the people stuck inside the dome, but I really didn't care about any of them even though many of them were very familiar. The journalist whose husband is a doctor and SAID he was working on Sunday's but is now dead and she doesn't know it...that's the evil red head from Twilight. The blond waitress who is being held by the lunatic boyfriend in a fallout shelter is Lux from Life Unexpected/Cassie from Secret Circle. The only cute guy in the entire thing, has the stupidest name, Barbie, and some secret (he also killed the red heads husband) and was from Bates Motel, but I recognized him from his stint as the stud on Pan Am. Big Jim is Hank from Breaking Bad and the list goes on. Each person has some sort of soap operaesque story that we are all supposed to care about more than the giant invisible dome that has trapped them all together. The dome stings when someone touches it, split cows, people, animals and homes in half and seems to be giving some people epileptic symptoms as they shake, spit out saliva and the words "stars are falling in lines" during their seizures. The Army showed up late into episode one and donned their ET garb which I guess helps them protect themselves and solve the mystery of the dome. The problem I just didn't care about the dome or any of the people stuck inside. Soooooo, I just have to get through tonight until Wednesday and the premiere of the best Summer reality show ever...Big Brother. One more night, I can make it. Thanks for starting early CBS...we need it!

News & Information:
-The CW released their Fall premiere dates. I've loaded them all onto my list on the right but here are the important ones:
10/7 Hart of Dixie
10/10 The Vampire Diaries
10/10 Reign-Trust me...this one is AWESOME...must watch!
10/15 The Originals
-OMG, Cher is going to be on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night, now there's another thing for us to all look forward to. Andy got a text on Sunday night during his show and he was already freaking out. I can't wait.
-I absolutely LOVE Paul Giamatti...love, and I hope if he reads this blog he isn't offended by my comment because I wouldn't want to offend him, but I read that he is joining Downton Abbey as Cora's playboy stud brother, Harold. Paul Giamatti is a lot of things. Talented, genius, hilarious etc. I'm hoping he can pull off American playboy too. Interesting casting, but I gotta admit, I'm struggling a bit. If anyone can make it work, he can, but this one could be a stretch...a big one.
