THE SHOWS

Suburgatory
With the exception of Sheila Shea, I'm pretty sure that nobody actually works in Chatswin. George never does anything but he has enough money for a hot dog trainer who not only trains Biederman, but shops for him and plays with him in the hugest dog park I've ever seen. Of course Dallas never works so she's at the same dog park at the exact same time  sporting some massive heels. While George and Dallas were dividing up Chatswin so they wouldn't run into each other, Tessa and June were dividing up Lisa. Every time I see Lisa I can't get over her metamorphisis from when she was the overweight, unattractive teenager from Weeds. A little Hollywood magic and money and I guess all of us can turn from a caterpillar to butterfly.  Also having some trouble was Sheila and Fred Shea. Sheila's feeling the pressure of being the only one in all of Chatswin working. Fred tried to do something nice for her, but it resulted in a hummingbird attack and near blindness. Foster kid Victor's pretty enjoyable. Modern Family should take note on how to cast a funny, non-annoying kid. I still hate Lily. Did you catch the movie that Tessa and Lisa were watching during their designated time together? Crocknami starring Shannen Doherty. Good one.

Modern Family
Privacy was theme of Modern Family this week. Phil and Claire spying on Luke, Alex spying on Hailey who apparently sleeps in her Uggs, Gloria spying on Jay, and Mitch and Cam blabbing about a friends calf implants. I knew that Phil Dunphy was into technology, but didn't know Claire was so tech savvy herself. Pretty impressive being able to track Luke on her Ipad. Are drones available at the store already? Did I miss that? Where can I get one? Radio Shack? Phil and Claire (also not working much) spying on Luke with a drone was a little over the top, but maybe in LA it's something that's already happening? C'mon we knew that Jay was not dreaming of another woman.Gloria's the type of woman everyone dreams about.  I thought his cries of "Baby" were for baby Joe, but the writers got me when it was the dog. Of course we knew that Cam would force Mitch to tell him about Brett's calf implants and of course we knew that Cam couldn't keep his mouth shut and of course we knew that Mitch and Cam would argue about it. What we didn't know was that Hailey has a talent...photography. Didn't see that one coming.

The Goldbergs
Goose & Maverick, Amazing Stories, Tasty Cakes (I was a Hostess kid) Nintendo Contra (never played it), this is your brain on drugs. Classic 80s. Can't believe how often we were told to check the encyclopedia, now it's "Google It".  The entire Adam/Emmy "Muscles" Mirsky storyline was the sweetest thing ever. That girl needed some conditioner big time, no? Adam's twist on Billy Crystal's "When Harry Met Sally" ending. Rain and all was awesome.  Murray's defense of "That's Incredible" and Bev running down the stairs screaming "crack rocks" were the 2 funniest moments of the show. Bev's Super Smother Spying was pretty impressive. I mean phone listening, ok. Diary reading, ok. Vent listening interesting, but who would think of checking  the bedding? I thought Erica would be smarter than to wear a fitted sheet to a toga party, guess not.
Goldberg Trivia Question #1-Can you name the hosts of That's Incredible?
Goldberg Trivia Question #2 Can you name the song at the end of the show? The Band?

THE OTHER STUFF
The Discovery Channel keeps raising the bar on itself. First we had the space jump, remember that one? Then last year was Nick Wallenda's walk across The Grand Canyon which was crazy. This May, wingsuit jumper, Joby Ogwyn is going to jump off the summit of Mount Everest LIVE! My sister and I used to be obsessed with all things Everest. Pretty sure we've read everything and watched everything, so I know we'll both be watching this one too. There will also be some pre-jump specials covering Joby's training and his schlep up Everest. Joby's been on Everest before, he was the youngest American to make it to the  summit in 2008 when he was 24, and then he also set the world record for the fastest ascent of Everest. He did it in 9 hours, normally it takes 3-4 days. I'm SO in on this one. I can't wait.

Les is at it again...next year, CBS will be running 8 Thursday night football games early in the season. They're still going to be simulcast on The NFL Network. though The later games will be on The NFL Network exclusively, but CBS will produce all the games and Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and the rest of the team will be calling the games.

Mark your calendars NOW people, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will be back next January 11th to host the Golden Globe Awards. They're so good at it, I think we now sort of have a bunch of good hosts to choose from don't you? Ellen, NPH, Tina & Amy. No need to experiment anymore, just lock these guys in and be done with it.

I can only imagine how awkward the meeting or phone call cancelling The Michael J. Fox show had to be. All 22 eps were produced, but only 15 ran. The remaining 7 will air at some point, but the show's over. We all love MJF, but the show was tough to watch and just wasn't that good. I'm sure we all feel bad, but with so many choices, this just wasn't one. Sorry MJF. There is a silver lining though...more Hollywood Game Night!

Psych's been cancelled after it's current 8th season. Anyone super upset about that?

Clay Aiken, remember him? American Idol. Guess he's bagging music and business and  taking on politics. He's going to run for Congress in North Carolina.
