THE SHOWS
Survivor
Finally got to watch Survivor from Wednesday night where we had a huge buff/tribe switch to throw everyone off their game. After the swap, there was a tribe with mostly couples and one with mostly singles. One tribe had a ton of rice and one tribe had none. Hunapu won their challenge but then had to beg Jeff for food. Same tribe that lost their flint and we are only 11 days into the game. What losers! EVERYONE KNOWS TO RATION THE RICE! Come on people! I'm pretty sure that my theory about teeth brushing has now been proven to be true. No way those couples are smooching so much if they haven't brushed! No way! Did you catch that Josh and Reed have been together for 2 years but are practicing abstinence? That was an interesting little nugget for me to obsess on. I really thought it would be Dale or Bailor, not Kelly going home. I felt bad for Kelly, her Dad really screwed up her game big time. I wonder what Jeff's going to take from Hunapu next week in exchange for food? What do they even have to give?
Scandal
I would think that Olivia would be cutting back on expenses a bit, but they sure go through a lot of photo paper at OPA. The magic sticky window was working overtime last night. So was Huck. Pope associate by day, family stalker at night. Someone has to tell his wife that he's telling the truth. If doesn't see Navi soon, he's going to end up back in crazyville. You remember that, right? I think Cyrus had a touch up, his hair was different and still distracting during his visit with Olivia. Thanks to him, she knows what's going on, now she has to save Jake, although it looks like Abby's going to be the one to do that. Did Quinn fit med school in over Summer break? How'd she know how to cut into a body and find the stomach just like that? A bit ridiculous but again, it's Scandal so we go with it. Which scene was crazier? No seriously, lets vote on it. Which scene, the one with Fitz and Jake or the one with Fitz and Mellie? GREAT final scene/final song match up at the end there. 3 songs last night. Can you name them all?
Vampire Diaries
Yep…I'm definitely a bit bored these days. Stefan's back to his sulking ways. Elena's in her new forget everything about Damon mode, Kai's really horrible, Bonnie's trying to take the high road, and Alaric and Jeremy are having pity parties in the woods. Wahhhhh! No Caroline, no Tyler, but we did see the Sheriff's pre-lesbian police chief look which was fun. I don't know, maybe it's time for me to pull the plug on this one.
THE OTHER STUFF
-Ebola coverage ruined my Thursday night viewing, so I'll catch up on Reign and Parenthood over the weekend. Don't forget to watch Sonic Highways tonight on HBO. You'll love it!
-My friends at AMC just did a little pre-holiday shopping. No Bose speakers or Fit Bits for them, they went for half of one of my fave little nets, BBC America. Half of it cost 200 Millllllion dollars! If you're not a BBC America fan, you really should be. Orphan Black, Broadchurch, Top Gear (the good one) Luther and more amazing shows are on the network. It's a nice addition to the AMC Network portfolio if you ask me. Good move guys.
-I'm a huge fan of the rotating hosts strategy for talk shows. I loved when we all watched Kelly Ripa sit next to different guys for months on end until we all settled on Michael Strahan. Of course, The View has taken to this strategy when filling seats around the table. Now, The Late Late Show will go this route during the Craig Ferguson/James Corden transition. Corden starts on March 9th. CBS…I'm available! I'm free most nights, but Monday's work really well for me.
-I'm not sure if we're at full seasons or not but ABC ordered more episodes of Black-ish, Modern Family, The Middle, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, Once Upon a Time, Resurrection , American Crime and the most important show…THE GOLDBERGS. No word on Nashville or Revenge yet, but I'm feeling hopeful about Nashville. Too good not to keep around.
