THE SHOWS

The Americans
So many of you guys keep asking me if I watch The Americans. The answer is of course YES. I just rarely watch it in real time. I'm not sure if when I watch something is even relevant anymore. We all seem to be on our own schedules these days. So YES, I watch The Americans, I love it and I do think it's one of the best shows out there right now. This Season in particular has been really strong and very interesting. More focus on the family with Elizabeth and Phillips's daughter Paige doing a bunch of the heavy lifting. Last night, Paige was reeling from seeing her Mommy kill a guy who tried to mug them. She's realizing so much more about her parents and asking wayyyyy too many questions. She had a great line last night when she was watching a soap opera on TV and Elizabeth just wasn't getting it. "It's not logical, Mom, it's emotional" and Elizabeth is a bit lacking in the emotion department. With all Paige has on her plate, add living with the worlds worst wallpaper and having a crush on the hideous neighbor next door to the list. Knowing that The Americans will end in 2 seasons means that while William might get caught (or killed) in the finale next week, our favorite spy couple should get out of this little mess with Stan, unless the writers shock the cr@p out of us. Keri Russell did just have a baby. Maybe she wants some Mommy and me time??? If anyone's dying, it's not Elizabeth, Phillip would get axed first if it were up to the writer in me. Anyone notice that when Alec and Tatiana were talking there was a painting or poster on the wall behind them that looked EXACTLY like Louis CK? It was driving me nuts. He is an FX star. Maybe the set decorator's a big fan???

My personal opinion would change a tiny bit. I liked David Muir more than Cedric. 
The show was down 9% overall vs. Michael Strahan's final week but the 3.0 average rating for the week was still an increase year over year.    

-For all of us Outlander fans GOOD NEWS...the show has been renewed for not 1 but 2 seasons! If you read the books, Season 3 will be based off of Voyager and Season 4 will be based off of the book Drums of Autumn. I don't read, but hoping both books include more naked Jamie and less politics.


-The entire reason I gave up Grey's Anatomy way back when, was because I couldn't stand Dr. Meredith Grey. I can't believe she's still on the show. I couldn't take her whining. McDreamy definitely could have done better. Anyway, not only is she still on the show, but Ellen Pompeo just signed on for 2 more years. 

-The dude at Sony TV responsible for Breaking Bad, Shark Tank and Blacklist, Steve Mosko, is leaving the company. Personally I'd have left right after Breaking Bad ended. You know...pull a Costanza and go out on top. Not that he's not doing just that now but I'd have kept the timeline tighter. 

-Homeland's not returning in the Fall this year. We'll get to snuggle under our blankets and follow Carrie this Winter for Season 6. Add that to Sunday's AFTER football. See...Good Wife's gone now I have room for Homeland! Even Steven. Love when that happens.
