-I normally I don't cover sports but I'm finding all of these numbers so interesting. We had the NBA Playoffs, Stanley Cup Playoffs and a horse running for the Triple Crown this weekend. Who'd have thought that it would be the 2nd highest rated Belmont Stakes ever? 20.6 million viewers tuned in to see if California Chrome would be the first Triple Crown Winner in 36 years. Name the last horse to win the Triple Crown for some bonus points.

-Game 2 of the Stanley Cup on Saturday night was seen by 6.4 million people which was the best Game 2 on record.

THE SHOWS

Orphan Black
Didn't see Tony's arrival coming…not in a long shot! Cosima better not die! Has Sarah changed her clothes ever? Love Felix. He has the funniest lines in the show. "Holy Tilda Swinton!" had me rolling. I know only a handful of you watch, but all of you should be. Too good not to. A good show to catch up on this Summer.

Orange is the New Black
I don't even know what to do here. I had a really busy weekend and still…I watched 9 of the 13 episodes of Season 2. LOVING IT! The first episode of the new season freaked me out. I don't want to say why because with these Netflix shows, we're all viewing at different rates and I don't want to ruin anyone's experience. Sooo for anyone who isn't watching…PLEASE WATCH!  For anyone who is and wants to discuss…send me a note! I'm dying to chat about it.

Game of Thrones
Wildings, mammoths and giants OH MY. The battle at Castle Rock was bloody. Bloodier than all the other battles we've seen on this show so far. I had a feeling that Jon Snow and his red haired lady would be reunited and I had a feeling one of them WOULD die, just didn't know which one. Selfishly, I'm glad it wasn't my boy, JS, but now he's left the castle and who knows what's gonna happen to him. I'm also happy Sam grew a pair during the battle and lived. Not sure Gilley's worth living for though. If I had to listen to her nagging and that voice, I'd leave the castle and take my chances with Snow. I don't know who directed last nights episode but it was shot really well and was apparently the most expensive GOT episode to date. It showed. Finale next week!

Nurse Jackie
Some things don't make sense:
1) Who has a wedding cake tasting at 8AM on a school day?
2) What hospital administrator would knowingly give her pill popping nurse pain killers even if she did run over her foot with her car?
3) Frank's a cop, he's seen drug addicts, is really this naive?
4) Would a traffic helicopter really swoop down on two people doin it just to mess with them?
Okay enough picking at a show I really love.
LOVED the memorial for Naim. Come on you know you were singing "The Candy Man" too. Name the real singer for some bonus points! I kinda like Eddie and Antoinette together. Just wait til Jackie finds out though! The runaway Nun and Frank's boys both showed up this episode too. Even with the silliness, it's still a great show.

THE OTHER STUFF

I didn't watch The Tony's, it's the only award show that doesn't interest me. I probably should have since so many TV peeps were represented and won this year. I even saw Neil Patrick Harris's performance in Hedwig, but…I was obsessed with Piper and the gang in Litchfield and all revved up for the Battle of Castle Black plus, there was still an NBA Playoff game to watch. So, for all of you guys that did give The Tony's your attention, let me know which actors and actresses known primarily for TV won a Tony last night.

Sorta sad really. The Daytime Emmy's couldn't get ANY network to air the show live.  So…On June 22nd, the awards, for the first time ever, won't be on TV. The only way you'll be able to find out who wins Best Talk Show will be to stream the show live at 5pm at: www.daytimeemmys.net

-Last week I asked you all what your favorite Ann B. Davis, Brady Bunch episode was. The winner…the Davy Jones episode. I don't know if I would say that episode was all about Alice but it is one of my faves also. Here's the video for all of you guys who want to sing along! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29qrRiF9t-M Don't you love that shirt?

-This cast had a reunion this past weekend at the ATX Festival in Austin Texas. A bucket list event for me.  Name the show for some bonus points. Brett...you can't play, but thanks for the photo!

THE SHOWS
Game of Thrones
I can't take much more. I mean what else can happen in the last 2 episodes?  Devasted that Dani sent Jorah away after she found out about him spying on her. Sure it was true, but that was a long time ago. Was the pardon letter REALLY from Robert Baratheon? He died in Season 1 didn't he? I guess the postal service has gotten a lot better over time huh? Next we had Sansa clearing Lord Baylish's name and giving herself a major makeover to assist with his plans for Robin. Where'd Sansa get the Loreal from and the balls? Brilliant move on her part actually.  Ramsey Snow got a name change and The North after Theon helped him out.  Arya and The Hound arrived at Aunt Liza's place, too bad she's dead, but hopefully she'll be reunited with Sansa and the Stark sisters can join forces with Dani and kick all the guys butts. Okay, that's my ending...sorry. Then, finally, it was time for the duel and what a duel it was. Totally thought that Martell had it.  Well, first I didn't think he did, all those showy spins and jumps and stuff, never a good sign. Remember Indiana Jones?  I really thought the Mountain dude was dead, but he wasn't and he squashed Martell's eyes and skull until it literally exploded. With that, Tywin wasted no time in sentencing his son to death and the credits rolled. He better not really die! I love him. Maybe Jamie will save him?

Nurse Jackie
The entire episode had Frank, Eddie and Antoinette helping Jackie through withdrawal. She was fine for awhile, then went through the nausea and vomiting stage, then the hallucination stage, then the fever and shakes stage and came through on the other side. Great cover, stuck in Miami during a hurricane. While she was detoxing, Grace's gal pal dumped her for losing her drugs. Thanks to Zoey, Grace went home to Mommy, had some animal shaped pancakes and just like that, Jackie's back on dope. DAMN IT JACKIE!

Orphan Black
I know of only a few readers that watch this show. My friend Brett  got me to watch it and now I need you guys to watch it too. It's interesting and a great story that I really don't want to tell you much about. You've also never seen acting like Tatiana Maslany's. Since none of you are watching, it doesn't even pay to go in to what happened this week, especially since you guys will eventually get on this one, but man…the last 5 minutes of this weeks episode were super JUICY!

2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • Chris Martin's induction of Peter Gabriele was brilliant. I wonder if he came up with bible thing himself. Chris was so cute and charming. Loved the Say Anything reference.
  • Peter Gabriele looked really good. He wore his earpiece during his speech, one in, one out. Good acceptance speech, he seemed to get very emotional and then, he hit the piano and Chris Martin joined him. So glad that he did "In Your Eyes" it's my fave of his.
  • Glenn Frey inducted Linda Ronstadt. I knew that Don Henley and Glenn Frey were in her back-up band and started the Eagles from there. Glenn's still cute. His hands looked a lot older than his face, but maybe that's because of all the guitar playing.
  • Linda wasn't there. She doesn't travel anymore, she's has Parkinsons Disease and can no longer sing. Carrie Underwood, Bonnie Raitt, EmmyLou Harris, Stevie Nicks, and Sheryl Crow (who looked insanely amazing) all performed Linda's songs.
  • Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine (had to look that one up) inducted Kiss. He did an incredible job with his induction speech. He got everyone pumped and on their feet.
  • Kiss has sold 100 million albums worldwide and has 28 gold albums in the US which is more than any other American band. Pretty impressive numbers
  • It was the 4 original members being inducted: Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Freehley and Peter Criss who was my fave. (He sang "Beth")
  • Of course Gene spoke (Shannon was there, but Gene didn't thank her or anything)
  • Peter Criss comes from Brooklyn and sounded like it. Apparently he's a male breast cancer survivor. Didn't know that one.
  • Ace Freehley is sober 7 1/2 years and needed us to know it.
  • Paul Stanley was last and called the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame board out for NOT originally inducting Kiss. Great speech Paul!
  • Art Garfunkel, wearing a stupid painters beanie, inducted Cat Stevens. Cat was pretty cute back in the day, before he changed his name to Yusef Islam and grew that long beard. He's still not bad looking. I'd forgotten how many awesome tunes he was responsible for. He sang my favorite song of his, "Father and Son" it gave me chills and got him a standing O. Then it was "Wild World," and "Peace Train"
  • Brian Epstein, The Beatles manager and Andrew Loog Oldham, The Rolling Stones manager were both inducted.
  • Questlove with his pick in place and his silver high tops inducted Daryl Hall & John Oates. They're from Philly, he's from Philly and he gave a great speech. Hall & Oates had some great hair back in the day, they actually still do.  Oates was looking tiny up on the podium next to Daryl and Quest.
  • Daryl Hall shamelessly plugged his show Live From Daryl's House during the performance.  They played "She's Gone," & "You Make My Dreams Come True"
  • Bruuuuuce and The E Street Band performed "E Street Shuffle" Damn Bruce looks good.  Really tan and really good, I mean the guy is 64 years old! Max, Patti, Little Steven, Garry, Vini, David, Roy Danny, Clarence, Nils & Patti were all finally inducted. I can't believe Patti's been in the band 30 years. Of course Bruce's speech was perfect. An awesome storyteller, told an awesome story. I learned in Bruce's speech that only one member of the E Street Band actually lived on E Street. Name him for some points.
  • Weird editing as all the E Streeters spoke. Then…"Kitty's Back"
  • Michael Stipe inducted Nirvana. Michael Stipe is ONE SERIOUS DUDE. Great speech but super serious. Kurt, Kris, and Dave. They were great. I know I'll get sh*t for this, but I actually prefer The Foofighters. Dave Grohl is just the coolest dude ever. His speech, just like him, was brilliant.  If you haven't seen Sound City, see it, you'll know what I mean.  Kurt looked just like his Mom. Courtney got booed, then got off stage…awkward. Nice way to ruin the moment.  Then, Joan Jett joined the guys and did "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Cool drum cam in place. Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth came out and sang and then Annie Clarke from the band St. Vincent came out and sang "Lithium" and then Lorde came out and sang to finish it out"
  • HBO's running it all week…def check it out if you haven't already.
THE OTHER STUFF

-Sooooo sad for all of us Brady Bunch fans, Alice, aka Ann. B. Davis died yesterday. She was 88 years old and we all loved her!  Me, You, Mrs. Brady, Mr. Brady, Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marcia, Jan, Cindy and name her boyfriend for a few bonus points. RIP ALICE!!!!

-I had already watched the pilot of Halt and Catch Fire. Did any of you guys watch it last night? Thoughts???

-So a few weeks ago, Arsenio Hall was renewed for a second season, but then affiliates moved it around and financially, it just didn't make sense so it's been cancelled. I sort of feel bad for Arsenio, but I gotta be honest, forget ratings for a minute, socially, virally, did you see anything all season that you shared? I didn't. These days in order to get the money from  advertisers, forget the ratings, worry about the buzz, the social, the viral videos, the tweets etc. It all drives to audiences wherever they are. I thought for the African American audience and the General Market audience Arsenio would have a place at the table, but...not so much. Oh well, we still have Jimmy, Jimmy, David, Stephen, Jon, Conan, Seth, Craig and Carson to keep us all awake.

THE ANSWER TO TUESDAY'S TRIVIA QUESTION: Wow! Only 5 people got yesterday's trivia question right. Michael Strahan is the current talk show host that starred in the show Brothers.  I've promised that June will be SUPER EASY MONTH. So just a few more days of tough ones.

Marvel Agents S.H.I.E.L.D-ABC From a 1.9 to a 3.2 (+68%)

-HBO's The Normal Heart was seen by 1.4 million viewers the night it aired. This is almost half of what Behind the Candelabra delivered last Memorial Day but it still ranked 5th out of the 17 original movies HBO has premiered in the last 4 years. I'm betting that The Normal Heart will do well in Live+7 or longer. It's the kind of movie you NEED to be ready and in the mood for. It's heavy, so people may have taken that into consideration knowing the subject matter.

-The midseason finale of Mad Men delivered 1.9 million viewers on Sunday night which was down a LOT vs. the season 6 finale. 2.7 million people watched that one! Maybe everyone is as sick of Don Draper as I am.

THE SHOWS

In one room of my house the Ranger game was on. I LOVE sports…LOVE, but I will type it right here…I hate hockey. I've tried to watch it, I've tried to like it. I even went to the Hockey Hall of Fame this past weekend, but I just can't get into it. My guys love hockey and this Ranger insanity is out of hand at the moment. I lasted 10 minutes and then hit my DVR.

Orphan Black
Orphan Black is still SO good but gotta admit, it's getting a bit confusing with all of the cast of characters and I'm not even talking about the girls! Dr. Leeky, Duncan/Peckham, Mrs. S. Art, his partner, Vic, Maggie, and the this list goes on and on. They're sort of straying from the characters I love the most like Allison, Cosima, Felix and Liam from Nashville. Of course the best character is Helena. She is one tough motherf-er. I don't like to find fault, but what was Sarah thinking leaving Helena alone in a car for who knows how long? Of course she'd get into trouble. I don't know how long Sarah was in the basement looking at files for, but it was long enough for Helena to drink 50 drinks, brake one guys finger, come on to and make out with another guy, rip the eyes out of the first guy and get arrested. The other thing I have an issue with is how EVERYONE seems to be able to find each other. They all think they aren't being followed and yet they all turn up at the same spot. A tad too convenient. Other that that…the show rules.

Deadliest Catch
Catching crab was the least of it last night on Deadliest Catch. The Northwestern had engine trouble, Jonathan and Scotty Hilstrand changed jobs for 4 pots, Scott Cambell's in really bad shape with his back issues and may never fish again, Kelly Collins the greenhorn has a warrant out for his arrest, Elliot was still fighting with Val, went off the wagon and left the boat to go to rehab. Seems many of these guys struggle with addiction. As much as I love so many of the Deadliest Catch guys, I think their lives are probably pretty nutty. It probably takes a special kind of woman to stay with one of these guys and deal with all the crap that IS their normal. I know I couldn't do it. Plus I have a crazy sense of smell,  I'm sure I couldn't deal with the stench of Zig and Edgar when they come home after the season ends.

True Tori Finale-sort of
The final episode of this stress filled, anxiety hour was basically this: Should Dean stay in L.A. with the family or go to Toronto to film Chopped Canada. Okay so I've  really simplified it for you. The truth is that it's all about trust. Dean would have had a major lawsuit on his hands if he walked away from his obligation and by the looks of things, money IS an issue. No help with the kids, no cleaning lady that I've seen. No car service to the airport, nada. Not sure where Candy Spelling has been in all of this, but Tori needs help, why isn't she there? Dean ended up going to Canada. He'll have to earn Tori's trust in order for them to make it and since it's all happening in nearly real time, we're not sure where things are right now. The good news…a special one night only show next week. Not sure if that still means that last nights episode was really the finale or if next weeks episode should be considered the finale. Regardless, I'll be watching. The scenes lead us to believe that there might have been other women prior to the one incident we know about. Hope not or Dean better get the tattoo we found out about last night removed. You know, the one above his privates that says "Tori's."  Tori is so obsessed with this idea of "Happily Ever After"  and the perfect fairytale marriage that I doubt she'll ever feel satisfied.

THE OTHER STUFF

-A bit of a shakeup over at NBC with some restructuring. I don't know what the structure was before, but the network is doing away with separate development heads and grouping them in to one role. The woman who was the head of drama series development, Pearlena Igbokwe will now be EVP of drama programming and handle development. Vernon Sanders the former head of current programming will be EVP of comedy programming and head development as well. Tai Rabinowitz who was the head of comedy development is gone. These guys will all report o Jennifer Salke, NBC Entertainment President.

-The Television Critics Association released their nominations yesterday. Check out Best Drama nominees, their brutal: The Americans, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, House of Cards & The Good Wife.
Best Comedy: Big Bang Theory, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Louis, TheMindy Projuect and Veep
Individual Achievement in Drama: Bryan Cranston, Julianna Marguilies, Tatiana Maslana, Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Rhys
Individual Achievement in Comedy-Louis C.K. Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jim Parsons and Amy Poehler
Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming-Amazing Race, RuPaul's Drag Race, Shark Tank, Survivor and The Voice
Program of the Year-Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Orange is the New Black and True Detective
The awards are given out on 7/19

-Game of Thrones fans...I'm warning you, this is really funny, but it's also got spoilers and some pretty major cursing in it. Seth Rogan and Snoop Dog (or Lion or whatever) smoking dope and talking Game of Thrones...check it out. Apologies if anyone's offended.
http://mashable.com/2014/05/26/game-of-thrones-seth-rogen-snoop-dogg/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link

-To celebrate Gay Pride Month, Showtime is re-airing full seasons of The "L" Word and Queer as Folk in June.  I've never seen The "L" Word, but I LOVED Queer as Folk. Gale Harold played Brian Kinney, one of the hottest, coolest guys ever. I'd definitely check it out if you've never seen it. I hope they run the first season, it had a great cliffhanger ending. Warning you in advance, it's pretty graphic.

-ABC Family's new show Chasing LIfe is available to check out right now on the ABC Watch App for anyone who wants to get a jump on it before the premiere on 6/3. I'm loving this strategy. Gives me a chance to decide early whether to get on the bandwagon or not.

-I know how much Les Moonves loves touting his #1 status, I wonder if having the 2nd highest salary of all CEO's will generate a call to the research department to start spinning numbers and turn this negative into a positive. . Sure he could say that out of all the MEDIA CEO's he's #1. Or he could tell Julie that he made nearly double what Bob Iger made and 109% more than Brian Roberts.  I can hear Julie now "but Les, you made SO much more than all those other guys…come on babe, how about some sushi and a little Good Wife…that'll cheer you up."
