-I normally I don't cover sports but I'm finding all of these numbers so interesting. We had the NBA Playoffs, Stanley Cup Playoffs and a horse running for the Triple Crown this weekend. Who'd have thought that it would be the 2nd highest rated Belmont Stakes ever? 20.6 million viewers tuned in to see if California Chrome would be the first Triple Crown Winner in 36 years. Name the last horse to win the Triple Crown for some bonus points.

-Game 2 of the Stanley Cup on Saturday night was seen by 6.4 million people which was the best Game 2 on record.

THE SHOWS

Orphan Black
Didn't see Tony's arrival coming…not in a long shot! Cosima better not die! Has Sarah changed her clothes ever? Love Felix. He has the funniest lines in the show. "Holy Tilda Swinton!" had me rolling. I know only a handful of you watch, but all of you should be. Too good not to. A good show to catch up on this Summer.

Orange is the New Black
I don't even know what to do here. I had a really busy weekend and still…I watched 9 of the 13 episodes of Season 2. LOVING IT! The first episode of the new season freaked me out. I don't want to say why because with these Netflix shows, we're all viewing at different rates and I don't want to ruin anyone's experience. Sooo for anyone who isn't watching…PLEASE WATCH!  For anyone who is and wants to discuss…send me a note! I'm dying to chat about it.

Game of Thrones
Wildings, mammoths and giants OH MY. The battle at Castle Rock was bloody. Bloodier than all the other battles we've seen on this show so far. I had a feeling that Jon Snow and his red haired lady would be reunited and I had a feeling one of them WOULD die, just didn't know which one. Selfishly, I'm glad it wasn't my boy, JS, but now he's left the castle and who knows what's gonna happen to him. I'm also happy Sam grew a pair during the battle and lived. Not sure Gilley's worth living for though. If I had to listen to her nagging and that voice, I'd leave the castle and take my chances with Snow. I don't know who directed last nights episode but it was shot really well and was apparently the most expensive GOT episode to date. It showed. Finale next week!

Nurse Jackie
Some things don't make sense:
1) Who has a wedding cake tasting at 8AM on a school day?
2) What hospital administrator would knowingly give her pill popping nurse pain killers even if she did run over her foot with her car?
3) Frank's a cop, he's seen drug addicts, is really this naive?
4) Would a traffic helicopter really swoop down on two people doin it just to mess with them?
Okay enough picking at a show I really love.
LOVED the memorial for Naim. Come on you know you were singing "The Candy Man" too. Name the real singer for some bonus points! I kinda like Eddie and Antoinette together. Just wait til Jackie finds out though! The runaway Nun and Frank's boys both showed up this episode too. Even with the silliness, it's still a great show.

THE OTHER STUFF

I didn't watch The Tony's, it's the only award show that doesn't interest me. I probably should have since so many TV peeps were represented and won this year. I even saw Neil Patrick Harris's performance in Hedwig, but…I was obsessed with Piper and the gang in Litchfield and all revved up for the Battle of Castle Black plus, there was still an NBA Playoff game to watch. So, for all of you guys that did give The Tony's your attention, let me know which actors and actresses known primarily for TV won a Tony last night.

Sorta sad really. The Daytime Emmy's couldn't get ANY network to air the show live.  So…On June 22nd, the awards, for the first time ever, won't be on TV. The only way you'll be able to find out who wins Best Talk Show will be to stream the show live at 5pm at: www.daytimeemmys.net

-Last week I asked you all what your favorite Ann B. Davis, Brady Bunch episode was. The winner…the Davy Jones episode. I don't know if I would say that episode was all about Alice but it is one of my faves also. Here's the video for all of you guys who want to sing along! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29qrRiF9t-M Don't you love that shirt?

-This cast had a reunion this past weekend at the ATX Festival in Austin Texas. A bucket list event for me.  Name the show for some bonus points. Brett...you can't play, but thanks for the photo!

Orange is the New Black. 13 Episodes in 5 Days...Please start watching people!

The answer to Tuesday's Trivia Question: The 2 Ojai references I was going for were The Bionic Woman, and Brothers and Sisters. I also would have accepted Melrose Place but that was a bit of stretch.

FIRST FIVES: Dan Realson, Phyllis DiCesare, Kathy Connelly, Francesca Sullivan & Karen Feldman

Honorable Mention: Jim Carter
Additional Trivia Answers: The 2 songs in Sunday's episode of The Newsroom were "You Better You Bet" by The Who and "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison. Nancy Provod was first in on that one.
The other question about the Joe Dantanna reference in Newsroom, Dan Tanna was the guy in Vegas played by Robert Urich.  Gigi Crayon was first with that one.

Property Envy
Ryan Serhant from Million Dollar Listing NYC was a guest on the panel of Property Envy last night. He's hilarious and took a bit of the spotlight away from Jeff Lewis if that was even possible. In the middle of all of the appraisals there was a bizarre Cher real estate game and a guess who lived here game. The games are a little bizarre and don't really go with the rest of the show, but, I do find them oddly enjoyable. I also love when Stephen Collins says "Our show is coming to a close". It sounds so good when he says it.  All of the homes are unique and interesting as are the panel of experts. It was a good diversion from the All Star Game...I was getting bored.

Orange is the New Black
Here's why binge viewing sucks...you can't talk to anyone about what you watched. I just finished the first season of Orange is the New Black on Netflix. 13 episodes in 5 days. It was SO good, but I can't talk about it. I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I don't want to say the wrong thing, give anything away etc. BUT I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT WITH SOMEONE!  So please people...someone jump on this so we can discuss.  I'm begging.  It's SO good and SO different and where it started is not where it ended at all.  I started with very specific feelings about all of the characters and every thing's changed. If you like Breaking Bad, you WILL like OitNB...you will I promise, money back guarantee.

NEWS & INFORMATION:

-For all you Full House fans, Uncle Jesse and his band The Rippers are going to be playing on my FBFF, Jimmy Fallon's show on Friday night.  Jimmy likes to do cast reunions, he's done Cosby and Saved by the Bell, so maybe DJ, Stephanie and Michelle will show up? I DVR it every night, so I know I won't miss it, but you guys may want to set your DVR's too. Don't worry if you don't, I'll make sure I post whatever's worth your time anyway.

-AMC is banking on Low Winter Sun as its next big hit after Breaking Bad ends this Summer. They're even giving sneak peeks at 20 movie theatres around the country.  Hey AMC, why don't you do what some of the other nets do, offer a sneak peek online too! Then I will definitely see it early, post about it and make it a huge hit...I promise.

-I know I didn't like Ray Donovan, but someone does...already renewed for another season. You guys still watching? Did it get any better?

-I honestly thought The Glee Project was cancelled already, but apparently it wasn't officially cancelled until now.  FOX's late renewal of Glee didn't leave producers enough time to turn the series around, so now...it is officially cancelled. The show did launch the careers of quite a few young actors and actresses and had a pretty passionate following. I wasn't one of them. I watched the first season, not the second.  Bummer Ryan Murphy...not a good week for you huh?

-After my post about The Newsroom, my cousin alerted me to the fact that Aaron Sorkin was on The Daily Show Monday night and John Oliver actually asked him the same question I asked. Why did he decide to use old news as opposed to more current news as the plot of the show.  His answer was interesting and made sense. He said that he liked the dynamic of having the audience know more than the characters and having us see the news process etc. Okay so now that I know the answer, I'm going to try to change my thinking when I watch next Sunday's episode...both times.

-Nathan Fillion aka Castle didn't show up for work yesterday. He doesn't seem to want more money, he wants to work a bit less for the same money. 4 days instead of 5.  Don't we all Nathan? Don't we all?  Technically he would be making more money if you do the math, but I get it. Look Howard Stern only works 3 days a week and he makes a boatload of dough, so maybe Nathan's taking the Howard approach.  Let's see what ABC thinks of this.

-I did predict that Cory Monteith died of a drug overdose, I never in a million years thought it would be heroine, but it was. So didn't see that coming. Sad.

-Looks like if TV Broadcasters want Aereo to go away, it's going to have to go to the Supreme Court. CBS and other broadcasters lost their appeal.  The previous ruling gave Aereo the right to stream live TV.  Barry Diller has a lot of money, you knew this wouldn't die.  Could get ugly and I'm guessing he's going to win this.  Not cool for them, but cool for consumers willing to pay the $8.00 a month.

-56% of all streaming devices sold in the world are Apple TV devices. Roku is second with 21.5%.  In Q1, Apple sold 13 million Apple TV's worldwide and Roku sold 5 million. The rest of the competitors don't sell more than a million a month.

-Apple's also in talks to provide an ad-skipping system but they'd pay the broadcasters part of the subscription fee to offset the ad dollars. Well, that would pretty much put many of us out of business, so I'm hoping this one doesn't happen. Otherwise, I better figure out pretty quickly how to make money out of this blog thing.

-This isn't a gossip column, so I really shouldn't discuss Adam Levine's engagement, but I really thought he'd take the Clooney route and while I have a wonderful husband and really no shot at Adam, I'm bummed by this news.

Wednesday's Trivia Question: My favorite Aaron Sorkin show was Sports Night on ABC.  Do you remember Felicity Huffman, Josh Charles & Peter Krause's characters names?  I honestly had to think about it a bit, but I got um.  Let's see who gets them all. No cheating!

Big Brother-Eviction Night!
Two nights in a row of GOOD Big Brother episodes. I love that the racism issue was brought up, I loved the houseguests working the votes and I love that the right person went home.  Let's hope the show stays on track. BULLET POINT TIME:
  • What are those things on Howard's arm? It looks like slugs or leaches.
  • Nice to see Candace got right to work on getting Nick out of the house.
  • Just in case you weren't sure, Andy is STILL in the game and is still wearing tank tops.
  • Helen was working it with Jessie pretty hard and did a great job.
  • Was Howard wearing underwear last night? Don't think so
  • WHO does HOWARD look like? It's driving me nuts!
  • Amanda & McCrae gross me out, BUT she is doing a good job with the manipulations.
  • I laughed when Julie addressed the showmances in the house and then made Jessie feel bad that she's not in one.
  • Amanda confronted Aaryn about her racist remarks and she A) equated it with being blonde B) admitted she could care less and C) thought that it was the most  "annoying and obnoxious thing she's ever heard". Wait til she finds out that she's lost her job because of it.
  • First a catsuit and then a ballerina outfit. Didn't Elissa look like the ballerina on top of your jewelry box when you were little? You know, the one when you open it, it plays music and the ballerina spins around.
  • Why was Nick YELLING so loud during his eviction speech
  • HOLY COW SPENCER voting out NICK was a crazy, crazy surprised where I was literally screaming at my TV.
  • NICK IS OUT! YEAHHHHHHHHHHH
  • GinaMarie's hysterics were ridiculous. She'd only known him 2 weeks, not a lifetime and Nick didn't want anything to do with her!
  • Since when is The Moving Company called the MC?
  • During his exit interview, Nick totally figured out that Spencer turned on him which was interesting to me.
  • I liked Nick WAY more during his exit interview than I did in the house.
  • Guess Nick's not gay since he admitted that he would have ended up with GinaMarie in a few weeks.
  • It's BETTER YOU THAN ME Elissa not YOU THAN I!  Oy I hate poor grammar.
  • Julie Chen seems a bit more animated and into the game play this season doesn't she?
  • Head of Household competition was awesome. Couldn't have been happier that Jeremy was out FIRST.
  • 2 Tie Breakers...has that happened before?
  • HELEN IS HOH!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  • Jeremy looked like he was going to kill someone. Karma's a b*tch dude!
Hollywood Game Night
Please tell me you guys watched Hollywood Game Night last night. I loved it! It brought me back to the game shows I used to watch when I was a kid. Jane Lynch's take on the cheesy game show host was spot on. She had 6 great celebrities playing too. I mean come on, 2 FRIENDS? Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow, Martin Short, Allison Hannigan, Daniel Dae Kim and Kristen Bell.  Martin Short was hilarious! He should be on EVERY week. The Charles Nelson Reilly of the show if you will.   Even the name of the house band was cheesy and delightful...Dean Butterworth and the Scorekeepers.  Basically there are 2 teams of 3 celebrities and 1 civilian competing in fun games for 25K. First game, Guess the Snack, was adorable, who knew Lisa Kudrow would know what Funions were. 2nd Game was sort of a Password type thing, third was a game where you had to guess who the celebrities were in drawings done by kids, then there was a game where you had to put celebrity photos in a timeline which was great and of course...Charades.  WINNER NBC!  I can't wait to see the ratings and can't wait for the next episode.  One question...Why is it on at 10pm???

Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
I love that Seinfeld used to be on Thursday nights at 9pm and that's around the time I watch Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee each week.  This week Seth Meyers was in the passenger seat and of course he was a great guest. Seth reminds me a lot of Jerry and you sort of see that in the show.  If you sit through the commercial at the end you will get to see MY very first car! A yellow Honda Civic...toooooo cute!

Orange is the New Black
I think most of you know that I was pissed off at Netflix when they raised their prices and basically charged me more for less, but that was a while ago, and I came back to them on my own terms. Of course I did, because Netflix is bringing some great content to the table. Now, I'm pretty happy forking over the eight bucks a month. First they gave me House of Cards, then Arrested Development and now the best of the three...Orange is the New Black.  I've only watched the premiere episode, but I'm already jonesing to keep going. IT'S GREAT! The show is based on a true story and follows Piper Chapman a former lesbian, wasp, shicksa, on her time spent in prison for  carrying drug money for her former lesbian lover. Now she's engaged to Jason Biggs and entering the big house and it's awesome.  Hilarious when Piper gets her prison outfit and says "oh, these shoes are like TOMS".  Lots of great casting...Jason Biggs American Pie co-star, Natasha Lyonne is behind bars, along with Kate Mulgrew, and some other familiar faces. (I don't want to give to much away because YOU MUST WATCH THIS ONE).  OitNB is from Jenji Kohan who brought Weeds into our lives and this show is his next masterpiece.  You guys gotta check it out!

NEWS & INFORMATION:

I saw an interesting Infographic on Mashable yesterday that showed where U.S. Adults are using their smartphones, here are the somewhat upsetting results:
9% during sex ( I don't know about you, but I would FREAK OUT if my husband broke out his phone during an intimate moment)
12% in the shower (I'm guessing they have a waterproof case?)
19% in church which means they are DEFINITELY GOING TO HELL
32% at a child's function, but that could be to coordinate seating, video the kid, or talk about the kid/family to your friend who was late and couldn't sit next to you.
33% on a dinner date (hard to interpret that one, but either way wrong and disrespectful)
35% IN A MOVIE THEATRE which DRIVES ME MENTAL!!!

-No offense Betty White, but I'm SO GLAD Off Your Rockers has been cancelled.  NBC pulled the plug on the show (not Betty!) after 2 seasons and I couldn't be happier. I couldn't believe that it did as well as it did and c'mon...it was so freaking stupid.

-Way to make me feel old Bravo. Monday will mark the 10 year anniversary of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. OMG I LOVED that show, didn't you?  To celebrate this momentous occasion, Bravo is running a Queer Eye marathon from 6am-5pm and airing the best episodes from all 5 seasons. NO CHEATING...give me the names of the "Fab Five" NO CHEATING, NO GOOGLING, I will admit, I knew all of their first names but only one of their last names...so HONOR SYSTEM!

Friday's Trivia Question: Which actress starred in My So Called Life and Homeland?
WHAT IS THIS WEEKS THEME??? 1 person did get it already, so anyone who gets it is eligible for 5 bonus points.

Have a great weekend!
