-Big night of TV for me…first was GLEE, (well first was really the first 15 minutes of LIVE WITH KELLY! And NPH, but we really don’t need to discuss it much-I just find it enjoyable) where Kurt’s outfits get weirder by the week. First there was this diagonally cut sweater thing and then a sweater cape that made him look like Nanny from NANNY AND THE PROFFESOR, in addition to these extremely distracting outfit selections, there were some really good songs performed. Of course anything Katy Perry makes me happy, but the GLEE cast’s version of “I Kissed a Girl” was awesome. The theme of the show was Lady songs, for ladies, by ladies, so Kurt and Blaine sang Pink’s “Perfect”, Puck (still sporting the Mohican hair brushed to the side and using phrases like “raw dog a beehive” which I am still not sure I understand) sang Melissa Etheridge’s “I’m the Only One” and Finn sang a very interesting, version of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. Coach Beast got in the action with Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and finally the girl they were all singing to, Santana, finished the show with K.D. Lang’s “Constant Craving”. Good Show aside from Kurt’s baby arms peeking out of that weird cape.
-RINGER was next and didn’t disappoint. Last night was its Fall finale and since every episode feels like a season ending cliffhanger I was hoping for another juicy one to end the Fall season and it was super juicy. I think I have now thought Jemma was dead 4 times…SPOILER ALERT: She isn’t…at least I think she isn’t at this point. They finally fixed Henry’s (her husband) hair and he looks a lot better, but now they are dressing him weird, sort of Sherlock Holmes-ish or something. Can’t wait til it returns on January 10th.
-PARENTHOOD writers must have heard our cries of foul play as they got Adam and Kristina back on track. Kristina even called the girl that kissed her husband (it meant nothing to either one of them…remember the poll question?) and told her it wasn’t cool, don’t do it again, have a nice day. That was the good part…the bad part for the Bravermans this week, was Max, their autistic son, was annoyed he couldn’t go to the dinosaur museum so he left home and attempted to go it alone. The entire Braverman family went nuts while he was missing…I was going nuts while he was missing, but I think what made me more in need of a Xanax was when Adam kept calling Kristina’s phone (and left 26 messages) and she wasn’t answering because she was in a meeting. Been there! On both ends…not a good feeling at all. Of course the pregnant chick Zoe keeps showing up…you can have my baby, you can’t have my baby, we don’t want your baby, please take my baby…enough with the stress of this…just have the baby and leave please…the show is so good, but so stressful.
-To alleviate my stress, I had to tune in to the season premiere of TORI & DEAN. You can make fun of me all you want, but Tori will always be Donna Martin and I need to support my 90210ers. Tori is nuts and is apparently a major hoarder which is why they felt the need to open their LA store “Inventori” (cute name right?). The store is actually stocked with mostly Tori’s stuff from her warehouse of crap she has collected over the years. Apparently the warehouse was out of room and their house was out of room, so a store was what they came up with to get rid of it all. In addition to the new store, their friends, the Guncles, adopted a baby, Dean got an acting job in Canada, Liam needs a haircut, they have a goat as a pet, and oh yeah, Tori revealed she was pregnant with their third child…all in this one hour episode (that is really about 42 minutes when you watch my way). All of this didn’t alleviate the PARENTHOOD stress at all.
-184 million US internet users watched online video content in October, averaging out at 21.1 hours per viewer. A new monthly record was set as the total US web audience watched 42.6 billion videos. Google lead the way as it collected 161 million unique viewers and reached a record high of 20.9 billion videos watched, as well as achieving the highest viewer engagement metrics with 7.1 hours per viewer. Facebook pulled in second with 59.8 million viewers, followed by VEVO (57 million), Microsoft properties (49.1 million) and Viacom Digital (48.2 million) to round out the top five. Other interesting data includes:
- Hulu, Tremor Video and BrightRoll were the top three online video ad properties when ranked in terms of video ads viewed.
- 86.2% of the US internet audience watched an online video in October 2011.
- Video ads accounted for 14.9% of all videos watched and 1.4% of all minutes spent watching videos on the web.
-Tablet Facts:
· 20% of all mobile ecommerce sales now come from tablets
· 60% of tablet owners have purchased goods using a tablet
· Tablet users spend an average of one hour and 35 minutes on their devices
· Tablet owners spend 10-20% more on purchases than shoppers without tablets
· By 2016 mobile commerce is expected to increase to 31 billion in the US
· Tablet owners are willing to spend more time and money shopping online
Wednesday’s Trivia Question: K.D. Lang’s song “Constant Craving” was featured in last night’s episode of GLEE. What does the K.D. in K.D. Lang’s name stand for?
